Becoming A Hero
Katherine Silverstone, or Kit to her friends, started acting at age 5, as the mutant messiah child in the film "To End All Wars." Growing up in LA and Boca Raton, Kit was always made to believe that appearances were everything, and to maintain her figure, she took up running. Unbeknownst to the vain young actress, her hobby was slowly but surely becoming something more than just an 'athletic gift.' Running a 5K in her mid-teens, she set the world record time for completing the race; she just brushed it off as luck. She also had a knack for Thai kickboxing, or Muay Thai, which she began to pursue after working with Johnny Chen while filming "Clutch Of The Dragon." And again, in martial arts, she proved to be unusually adept, surpassing everyone in her class, even the master of the dojo, in but two measly weeks. But as she starred in more and more movies and did more and more of her own stunts, it began to dawn on Kit that maybe her physical abilities were something... superhuman. On the set of 'Blitz!,' Kit noticed a loose Source 4 lamp swaying precariously over the head of the cinematography director. Acting quicker than she realized she could, she bolted towards him as the lamp plummeted to the ground, pushing the CD to safety and kicking the lamp to a safe landing in a pile of sand bags. Synapse, who happened to be on set for a cameo that day, saw the amazing feat and approached Kit with an offer: Why not become a hero? With the tutelage of one of the best known speedsters around, Kit could really make quite the hero out of herself. Deciding to trade in cellulite for spandex, the actress took to the streets of Paragon City, ready to make a new name for herself. 28 frames per second? Not fast enough to keep up with the wild adventures of Silver Rush!
Personality
Kit is quite the bundle of excitement. After living life on the silver screen, and at break-neck speeds, she has the attention span of a toaster. Her speed makes her reckless and a little haphazard, and she will often rush in and quickly be over her head in trouble, but this doesn't discourage her. Always positive with a sunny disposition, Silver Rush will often be heard cheering on her teammates from... well, from all over the place, as she usually never stops moving. She often can't control the speed of her voice, and tends to run words together pretty frequently, making her difficult to understand in the heat of battle, when she can't focus on 'thinking slow.' The fact life around her moves at a drastically slower pace gets frustrating from time to time, but Kit looks at is just having more time than everyone else. Just don't keep her waiting too long.
Powers
Silver Rush is capable of moving at hypersonic speeds, and not just while running. This heightened speed also came with a dramatic increase to her response time, able to dodge almost anything that comes her way. Her speed also contributes to the strength of her strikes, putting just that much more force behind the already-powerful strikes of her Muay Thai forms.
Plans For Tomorrow
Growing up in an affluent environment, Kit usually takes it upon herself to help others in need, super and civilian alike. As of now, she aims to take on a sidekick ((future character modelled after myself to come!)), form a supergroup of her own to unite celebrity heroes under one anti-paparazzi banner, and even aims to form a charity scholarship program for underpriviledged kids in tougher parts of Paragon City. What the future will bring, no one knows, but for now, Silver Rush is going to keep moving forward, at blinding speeds of course.
