Preface

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.
Since the age of Arthur, the magical might of England was imbued into three ordinary weapons by Merlin the Magician. For generations, these three weapons have been handed down from knight to squire, endowing each with the magical power to protect the Crown. Sir England is the most recent squire to be knighted and take up the mantle of hero; bequeathed Paradigm, the mace of Sir Bors by his predecessor: The Shield of England. Only the Crown, his fellow knights and their squires and he know this to be. For the rest of the world, the story is different.
Spoilers end here.
For as long as anyone can remember, the trio of heroes called The Arms of Dominion has protected the people of Great Britain; like Hero 1, they are patriots of the British Empire and are beloved heroes of their nation. However, even though they are heroes of the people, they are primarily protectors and agents of the Crown; and while the government has made subtle changes to their function, the traditions of the Arms have remained the same.
The lore alleges that each of the three heroes of the dominion were bestowed their power by Merlin, himself. The heroes, themselves, have remained the same throughout the centuries; kept young and powerful by Merlin's magic. They are not only heroes, but friends to the people they protect, mingling at social galas, volunteering for Oxfam, even showing up at discotheques to associate with the modern youth. With the changing times, they have changed their names and their costumes appropriately, though they still cling to their archaic weaponry.

Personality

Sir England is a very socially active hero; attending many social and charity functions, appearing on the BBC in several different formats, and tries to show up at any private or public function or gathering to which he is invited. Outwardly he is very jovial, always smiling when not called upon to use his power; however his private life and personality are completely different. Inwardly, he is very sad, tormented by conflicting memories; memories he is not permitted to have.

Organisations

While Sir England and his colleagues are treated with the respect normally afforded only to royalty, by order of the Queen, they are subject to the directives of the United Kingdom's intelligence agencies. Ordinarily they have the freedom to come and go as they please; but under special circumstances they can be given assignments with directives that, whether they agree with them or not, they must follow.
MI6

MI5

While operating from home, Sir England and the other members of the Arms of the Dominion are agents of the Security Service. Their role in the agency is centered around the protection of the Crown and Royal Family; more visibly, it is the protection of the peoples of the United Kingdom.

MI6

For his assignment to the United States, Sir England was transferred to the Secret Intelligence Service and assigned a new liaison. The agency ensures that Sir England has adequate psychological protection as well as providing him with luxurient living accommodations, finances and administrative services.

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.
In addition to the façade of diplomatic functions, they maintain a constant vigil over Sir England's psychic well-being, ensuring that none of the secrets he holds are compromised by psionicists or even Sir England, himself. The primary agent responsible for this is Sir England's liaison and handler, Mr. Cornflower; however, agents have been assigned to the various boroughs of Paragon City for extended protection range and overlapping layers of protection.

Powers

Sir England's magical mace, Paradigm, has been imbued with power by Merlin, himself. Although it does not grant him eternal youth, it does extend his lifespan beyond that of a normal human; and while the power he is granted comes from Paradigm, it is not required that he hold it to take advantage of its empowerment. The power he has been given will only ever be lost when he passes the mantle to his squire.

Invulnerability

Physical Invulnerability

Sir England's seeming invulnerability stems from a magical field that absorbs or deflects the energy from nearly any source. This comes at a price, however; when energy, kinetic or otherwise, is absorbed or deflected by his magical aura, it takes a toll upon his stamina until he eventually passes into unconsciousness. In the unlikely event that Sir England is rendered unconscious, the aura continues to protect him, but repeated attacks upon his person will lengthen the time it takes for him to recover.

Immovability

Invulnerability alone can only take one so far. Realizing this, Merlin also bestowed the heroes of the Dominion the power of the immovable object so they cannot be toppled against their will.

Clemency

The magical aura that protects Sir England, by force of will, can work in both directions: By exerting control over his protective field, he can reverse the effect, thereby protecting those outside of it from being grievously injured by his mace during combat.

Superhuman Strength and Stamina

Sir England's physical attributes have all been magically enhanced to superhuman levels.

Strength

While not Godlike, Sir England's strength is certainly Herculean. During the Anglo-Dutch wars, he was seen tossing Dutch cannon like cricket stumps; during the Second World War, onlookers witnessed him lifting a fifty-two ton German mini-sub from the river Thames. Displays like that are rare, though; he prefers to keep his skirmishes small to reduce collateral damage.

Stamina

Like his strength, his stamina is far beyond that of a standard human; allowing him to recover his strength and any improbable wounding with astounding speed.

Speed

Like many heroes, Sir England can run at over 25 miles per hour and leap higher than his own head.

Flight

Sir England's ability to fly, needs to be rewritten as it was pretty similar to another flying hero. When I wrote it, I didn't know, but now that I've found out, I need to change it.

Weaknesses

Spoiler warning: Details about a player-created storyline, or information currently unrevealed about a character, follow.
While physically invulnerable, Sir England is vulnerable to psychic attacks. To compensate for this weakness, he has been assigned a handler. Known to him only as a liaison, he is told that the handler is responsible for paperwork dealing with collateral damage he may cause, and communication between him and MI5 / MI6. Though the handler compensates for Sir England's psychic weakness, he or she cannot protect him from psionic assaults; they are there to protect the secrets that Sir England holds within his communal memory.
