Sirius Rigil
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
The Peacebringer known as Sirius Rigil did not pick his name, it's a collection of his agent name, Rigil, as well as his host body's favorite star, Sirius. Originally they were not going to fight crime, but events changed that. The pair as a whole are not totally interested in being a hero, but they do wish to make a difference in Paragon City...in their own way however. On top of this, their priority is the Nictus, Council, Void Hunters, and Rikti...not necessarily in that order. The Kheldian, who has no name, has also had some falling outs with Longbow, which has resulted in a few issues with damaged property...Whoops.

History
Kane's Accident
Kane was only 16 when he met the Kheldian. He had heard that their race existed, but he never thought he'd ever meet one. Especially not with his family's checkered past. Being raised by a mother and father who were in and out of the Zig more often than an alcoholic is in a liquor store. Being raised by super powered villains, he was quite happy that he didn't have any powers. He was content to just go to school, and suffer at the hands of those who would tease him about his "failure" parents. It sucked, but he always had Alex.
Alex, as opposed to Kane, was an outgoing, physically fit, jock type. He was a C and B student who excelled in math, Kane's one shortcoming in school. Even with these average grades, Alex was going places. He had an internship with Crey. One that he often but before Kane, but the boy understood. He wanted Alex to be great, and so he never complained, never whined about the lack of attention. He merely enjoyed what time they could spend together. Even if that time was slowly coming to an unknown end...
He decided to skip school one cold November day. Why bother? He would just make up the tests he had anyway. The last thing he heard was a man screaming for him to move and the sound of a horn.
Falling Stars
Elsewhere, speeding through the stars, a Kheldian was fighting for his life. Followed by Nictus hellbent on ending his life, the Kheldian fought tooth and nail. Blast after blast, the three Nictus fired at the Kheldian. One landed a solid hit, a fatal hit. The alien was forced to flee to the nearest planet...Earth.
He needed a host. He was already pushing his luck by having gone so long without a host. And being on a planet now would only speed up his death process. The Nictus were not far behind him though. The ball of energy shot through Paragon City and the Nictus were never far behind. He cried out to the current lifeforms there to assist, but nobody even blinked an eye. They all ran. A few heroes showed up, but none were a match for the Nictus. With a Kheldian on earth, the Void Hunters were now alerted, and en route.
Things were slowly getting worse, and his wound wasn't getting any better. It was then that he saw the dying boy. In that moment, he saw something. A fire, a desire, a will to live. But he had to keep moving for now. The Kheldian required a moment of rest to evade the Void Hunters as well as the Nictus. It was too much to hope that the Void Hunters would go after the Nictus. In a last ditch effort he merged with a homeless man, forcing the union upon him, in order to defend himself from his attacks. The stress of the forced union resulted in the man's death however after the fight...
Union
The weakened Kheldian was still again without a host. He was still weak from his wounds, and he needed a body, a proper body, to survive. The Fates smiled upon him as he happened to float about until he met up with the boy from earlier inside the hospital. He lay there, dying, but the fire was still there on his face. An inner glow that the Kheldian responded to, and he knew that this one was a fighter.
"You're dying..." The Kheldian spoke to the boy's mind. He got no response for a while, but eventually the boy spoke back. "Am I? I don't want to die...I just wanted to live..." The Kheldian gave a soft mental "hmm" as if thinking, but he knew exactly what he was doing. "I can save you...Do you trust me?" He asked softly. There the pair was. An alien and a dying boy with one wish. His body beaten, battered, and bandaged. He was hooked-up to tubes, machines, and other medical devices. There was a silence in the room, and a hollow echo within their minds. The boy managed to use his last mortal breath to whisper his answer. "I...do..." That was the only invitation required for the Kheldian.
He placed himself inside of Kane's form, allowing mind to touch mind, energy to touch flesh, merging with him until they were one being. This process, unlike the one before, was smooth and relatively painless. Kane cried out though as his wounds healed themselves and heat rushed through his body. His eyes snapped open and burned white with a tint of blue before returning to their normal color, a gentle deep pale blue...
Causality
Fastforward a year. His family has left him after finding out that their son was aided by an alien who's kind had a reputation for being a hero. His lover left him for being, as he put it, "tainted". He dropped out of school, and thus lost just about all his friends, save the occasional phone call asking if he was "cured". All in all, one year later, he was alone...
It was also at this point in time that the Kheldian began noticing the negative effects of this union. Theoretically there should be no "issues" be as days went by the Kheldian noticed small things like mental disconnection, fatigue, and small scars. Kane had inquired about these, and the alien merely lied about it so as not to worry the boy. But things got worse very quickly. After a raid on a Council Warehouse, the pair was injured by a passing Void Hunter, the woulds would take time to heal, but by this point the union was far enough that the Kheldian could heal the body. Upon healing though, more wounds were created. They did not bleed, but they were glowing with the white-blue light of energy they radiated. Pain rushed through their body, and Kane released a mental shout. Everything went black.
When the Peacebringer came too, it was only the Kheldian. He searched their shared mind for Kane, but he was not there. He shouted for him, but there was no answer. The wounds were there and they hurt. They hurt worse than getting hit pointblank by a Quantum gun. The Kheldian was alone, and dying...He took to the skies, but he use of his powers only increased the spread of his wounds. There was only one place, one logical place, he could go to. Crey...
Enslavement
He got in contact with Alex, but it was far from as smoothly as he would have liked it to go. The now full-blown Crey Scientist hated the alien and his ex-boyfriend. Alex enjoyed the idea of strength as well as relative immortality, but not if it meant "tainting" the body by accepting an alien. But he saw something to be gained from this. In exchange of some DNA, and Kelhdian energy when required, he would provide the pair with a serum that would allow the alien to use his powers without further damage to Kane's body.
There was no choice. The Kheldian had to accept. He was now on a mission to save this body. He couldn't stand working for Crey...it was here the name Rigil came into play. Under the guise of various masks, hoods, and other clothing articles he managed to hide his identity and thus save face from the people of Paragon. But he was a puppet, a slave, to Alex...All to save Kane again. The mind of Kane rested in a coma, and thus the Kheldian was truly wearing a shell, there was no other person here...it was just the alien.
Nobody would stand in his way though...He would rip down bodies and buildings alike to protect and save Kane...
Personality
Overall
Rigil is a logic over emotion kind of guy. He is also very disconnected from people. He cannot understand the concept of love, displaced anger, the joy of money, or sadness. Though this is quickly changing the more time he spends in Kane's body and around other humans. He is, however, one to hold a grudge. In his mind however, this is not emotional. If one were to hear him speak of humans, he would come off as if he thought that humans were a lesser species. But he doesn't feel this way. Rather he admires them for their genetic diversity, something he mentions often and seems to have a twingy of jealousy over though he doesn't process it as jealousy. This is an overall mix of their respective personalities...
Typical day for the Kheldian
On any given day you can basically expect Rigil to come off as a apathetic individual who cannot seem to learn enough. He understands, and he will admit this, very little about human culture as well as their slang. He isn't totally unapproachable, but he isn't 100% friendly either. He has a very short fuse though when it comes to humans and their durability stating that: "Humans are just too fragile." Which leads him to being overly impressed or surprised when he witnesses a human holding his own against the odds. Though he does admire their seemingly foolish desire to continue fighting even when the battle is against them.
Typical day for Kane
Kane, as opposed to his alien counterpart, is a lot more friendly. He is very approachable and has an almost childish air about him. But there's a shark swimming under those joyful waters. Do not mistake his boyish smile or his bell-like laughter as a sign that he's a push over. While the Kheldian is slow to anger, Kane has no problem firing a beam from his eyes to silence those that annoy him.
Morals
What morals? They do what needs to be done. End of story...
Affiliations
Breakdown
The pair often flew about alone, doing the dirty work of Crey. It just so happened that the Fates decided to place them in the tender love and care of a delightful group that goes by the name of Breakdown. Together, the Peacebringer and this ragtag group of demons, mutants, humans, and even a few robots / androids travel together fighting crime....for a fee.
Vanguard
While he is a member, he doesn't often spend most of his time worrying about the affairs of Vanguard. He just would much rather prefer to be allied with them than with Longbow.
