Originally a US Air Force Pilot, he was selected for work with a Black Operations project that evolved into the group known as the Sky Raiders. Capt Bruin displayed extrodinary skill in piloting various craft, namely the Wing Raider packs. In his off time, Capt Bruin doubled as a design engineer for the Raiders, assisting in improvements to various Sky Raider gear.
Capt Bruin's life came to an abrupt halt when during a mission alongside the Council to raid an Exarch lab, a team of heroes from Wyldfire ambushed and tagged the lot for arrest. During the trial, the Council pinned the raid on Capt Bruins and his people. The Sky Raider's did not come to Bruin's defense but branded him a rogue to protect themselves.Angered, Bruin escaped the Zig, with revenge in mind against the Council, Sky Raiders and Wyldfire.
Revenge and Life having its own Plan
Revenge against the Council proved not that difficult, given the Council being scattered across the Rogue Isles and Paragon City. A few base raids, handing off information to select heroes ... or Arachnos ... all of which resulted in a major interruption of the Council's work. Good times were had by all, except the Council.
Then there were his old Sky Raider unit; they were a piece of cake.
