His name is...
Solarios is a mid-level hero who patrols the streets of Paragon City. His costume is comprised of typical hero-caliber spandex colored in red and yellow-orange, with a dual colored cape and red mask. He stands at a fairly average height for a North American male, and has sandy brown hair cut short, though slightly longer in front than in back.
Of course, if you really want to know Solarios, you should probably start at...
The Beginning
Solarios was born Steven Winters in Long Island to two loving parents. He had a normal life that continued well through high school and into young adulthood. After high school, he moved to Southern California to get away from the hustle and bustle of New York as well as apply for college.
He was a fair student, getting settled into a major in architecture at the urging of his father. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until...
Power Manifestation
Steven was unaware of his mutant heritage for the whole of his childhood. Save for a few fluke incidents, nothing strange had happened. After a few months of classes however, his life took a turn for the bizarre.
While walking the hall to leave for the night, he was accosted by three armed thugs. Two of the men had guns, while the third had a knife. They demanded he hand over his wallet, as well as anything else he had on him if he wanted to walk away alive. Under stress and with a rush of adrenaline, Steven's hands erupted in flames. The robbers ran, but Steven panicked. In his attempts to put out his hands, he managed to ignite the carpet and walls around him... He ran for the nearest phone and called the fire department. Before they arrived, his hands returned to normal. He examined his arms and found no burns.
After classes, he would spend his time attempting to repeat the actions of that night. He decided he needed to learn what happened and how to control it to keep it from ever happening again. He would never tell his parents. They couldn't possibly understand.
Heroic Tendencies
After a long while he learned how to not only to control when the flames manifested, but learned he could also hurl it from his hands as a projectile, as well as create a localized flash fire if he concentrated hard enough.
He soon decided he could do more with this ability than hide it. Thinking back to the event that triggered this change, he decided to hunt down those who would do harm to innocent victims. With this new goal in mind, he left school and took to the streets.
Relocation
A year and a half had passed since he first took to stopping crime, and his abilities had become much more natural to him. Criminal activity slowed to a crawl. He soon learned of an abnormal amount of large scale criminal activity on the east coast of the U.S. One city in particular seemed to be facing the bulk of the problem... This was Paragon City, Rhode Island. He hopped a flight as soon as he could.
He registered in Freedom Court, and soon began to make fighting crime a full time occupation.
Personality
Solarios' personality is a bit of an anomaly. He's quite casual when out of costume, but when the tights go on, he's straight down to business. He could stand to loosen up a bit, but he's learning not to take himself so seriously. This is most evident in his catchphrase "Let's turn up the heat!". Much like comicbook superheroes, he has the tendency to use some hammy dialogue.
Enemies
Solarios has made a few enemies since his arrival in Paragon. One of his most notable encounters being a run-in with the Clock King. He had sent his gargantuan minion Babbage on a rampage across Skyway City. In a fight that should have been incredibly one sided, Solarios, with the help of seven other heroes, managed to take down the mechanized behemoth in a battle that felt like it lasted for days.
He currently wages battles against the Sky Raiders.
Group Affiliations
After making his presence known in Paragon he joined together with a villain rehabilitation program. He, along with a few other heroes, work hard to recruit villains to the side of justice. There have been a few successes, such as the magic user Lunar Tempest. These rehabilitated villains and heroes form a group that is now known as the Misfits of Paragon.
