This shy, gangly young woman, whose face is marked by a terrible burn scar, was once a proud mystic warrior, the latest in the line of Burning Soul Priestesses. The insidious influence of the vile and capricious Dark Cosmos has broken her will and warped her powers, turning her into a wanton wielder of a flame that burns not only bodies but souls.

Affiliations
Weak willed, easily confused, and often overwhelmed, Atsuko latches onto any strong figure who will give her direction. The leaders of the Dark Cosmos, Dark General Oort and Dark General Nebula, are only too happy to provide her with advice and encouragement, as is the vicious jackal Illbient. She also has a somewhat pathetic crush on the half-dragon Grimvale, because he also wields fire and because he isn't mean to her. On the other hand, she lives in terror of Cultist Calque, who spares no opportunity to torment her due to her prejudice against flame.
Personality
Her once-proud ego nearly broken by the constant whispering of the dread gods, Atsuko is shy, withdrawn, and detached. She still wants to be "good", but isn't at all sure what that means anymore - setting people on fire is good, right? No? But it feels so nice...
Powers
Incineration
Somewhere inside Atsuko, an unextinguishable flame is forever burning. Its fuel is souls and its smoke stinks of the charnel house. When Atsuko pulls aside her filter mask, her breath emerges as a pall of cinders and a gout of flame. Fire springs from her hands, leaping across the ground with unnatural speed, needing neither fuel nor air. Those who stand before her succumb to choking ash and spreading flames.
Soul Consumption
Those whose bodies die to Atsuko's flames are not free of her tormenting fire, for she breathes in their souls and stokes her internal oven ever higher. Once she has raised her heat to a sufficient level, she undergoes a dreadful transformation, as her skin turns to black iron and her limbs glow red with heat. While the transformation remains, the fire she throws is even hotter and the cloud of smoke more intense and toxic.

Atsuko loves fire, and loves to start fires, and has learned everything there is to learn about how fire is started and how it spreads.

In order to relieve those around her from her noxious exhalations, Atsuko wears a filter mask over her nose and mouth.
Weaknesses and Limitations
Without sufficient stored power to effect her transformation, Atsuko is only human, and not a very tough human at that. Furthermore, she is easily bullied and very easily confused as to what is right to do.
Character History
After months wandering the Rogue Isles, having nearly given in to the voices of madness, Atsuko was rescued by the concerted efforts of heroes from the Brigands of Light, Do-Gooders, and D.F.B. - Death From Below.
