Partly Cloudy
Theo was born during a wild thunderstorm in New Orleans. The pregnancy had been difficult for his mother, Lazuli, for a number of reasons. The least of which being that she knew Theo was not her husband's son. Daric had his suspicions and they were finally confirmed when he gave in to his paranoia and took a young Theo in for a paternity test when Theo was six.
The ensuing fight between Daric and Lazuli ended with Lazuli's accidental death. Daric, in his rage, shoved her away, sending her down the stairs. Daric called for an ambulance, saying that she'd tripped. There was never an investigation. Though Theo had seen the whole thing, he was left too terrified to tell anyone what'd happened.
Daric never quite knew how to deal with Theo after that point. Their relationship was always strained and often violent. It came to a head when Theo was fourteen and his powers manifested. He was shorting out electronics every time he touched them and causing brown outs in his house. But the final straw was when Daric caught Theo sleeping with a boy. He threw him out of the house right there and then, giving Theo exactly five minutes to pack up anything he needed.
Theo only took his real father's guitar. He'd found it hidden in the attic with his mother's stuff along with a note instructing her to give it to Theo when he was old enough.
Runaway
Theo decided that if he was going to leave home, he was going to really leave it. He headed for the Rogue Isles, fabled for it's decadence that could out-shine even Bourbon Street. There, he met a group of other strays in Mercy Island that would later become his bandmates.
Theo's latent electrical powers had caught Del'rocchio's attention, and the necromancer took Theo on as his pupil. Unfortunately, Theo could never tell if Del'Rocchio was really trying to help him or just use him.
When Theo's family discovered where he was, his older sister Faline came to search for him. Partly through Del'rocchio's manipulations, Faline was killed and turned into a vampire. In death, Faline lost not only her soul but her mind. Her insanity led her to seek Theo out and attempt turn him. When Theo didn't want to be turned into a vampire, she concluded that it was because of his feelings for Marcus, one of the members of his band. She snapped Marcus's neck, ending their relationship. With Del'rocchio's help, Theo killed Faline. Then Del'rocchio showed him the means by which he could go about bringing Marcus back from the dead. Heartbroken and desperate, Theo accepted and began a macabre ritual that would tear apart his soul. Theo succeeded, at the cost of his innocence, at bringing Marcus back as one of the undead. Theo was led to believe that the ritual had failed, and he left the Rogue Isles disgusted with himself and everything he had done.
Behind the Music
Roarshack came to the attention of the public during the summer of 2005. They started a really good indie band, making their first appearances in the music halls of Atlas Park.
He felt bad for the things he'd done in the Rogue Isles and began some hero work on the side to atone. So far, he's been able to keep a pretty low profile, but he loves the spotlight too much to not let his identity slide a little.
Personality
Those that are close to Theo know that his egotism is matched only by his self-loathing. He laughs when he doesn't know what to say and is affectionate to the point of blurring the line between friendship and romance. Loyalty to friends becomes an obsession. He will give anything he has to save those close to him.
Though fairly intelligent, he tends not to think in the heat of the moment. He claims that fate is not on his side, and though there does seem to be more than a fair share of bad luck, his rash decisions and tendency for extreme is as much to blame for whatever situation he finds himself in.
Music is important to Theo in a way that no person ever could be. It saved him when he had nothing left and continues to keep him sane. It can't leave him. No matter what happens, it's always there, just waiting for him to pick up his guitar or turn on the radio, even when the rest of the world is going crazy.
He wants to be one of the good guys and do the right thing, but sometimes his methods and skewed morality make it seem otherwise.
Theo falls in love quickly and easily. To date, he has never fallen out of love.
