Origin

Star Edge: Fall into the Blue This story starts in the stars above Earth and in the cold reaches of space. A small space pod is flying rapidly at the human planet, inside resides an exiled prince. We do not know from what planet he comes from, whether he brings peace or destruction, or what could happen in the future. As the pod starts to burn through the atmosphere many heroes around the Earth are busy fighting of the Rikti invasion. (*The Rikti are a group of cthulhu-like creatures who ravenge planets and have yet to take over Earth due to it's overflow of heroes and villains). The space pod makes it's way through and falls through the sky with the best possible cover anyone could ask for. About 10 minutes from the burst through the atmosphere the pod crashes in Atlas Park of Paragon City. The door opens and out steps the prince. Confused he looks around to try to get a feel of his surroundings, but not for long. Suddenly out of the corner of his eye a sharp like object flying towards him. Quickly dodging the object, he jumps backwards back into his space pod. “This is seriously not how this is supposed to happen. Do you even know what the last month has been like for me!” the prince exclaims as he make's his way back out with a katana in his hands.“So, looks like the Rikti have made their way to this sector of the universe.” he says unsheathing his sword, “My people have stop you many times before so don't expect me to go easy.” The fight begins. Trading punches, kick, and swings of his blade the Rikti soldiers around him fell. “I must not be the only one here with the power to fight these monsters.” the prince said. “Of course your not! We like to clean out these badies too you know. It seems they like the spring weather though...” a young person said with much excitement and youth. As the prince looked up he noticed a teen about his age in the air. He had short white hair and a black costume with a white crescent moon on his chest. “I saw you fall, must of hurt. But seeing your ability to fight the Rikti makes me think it didn't hurt at all. So care to explain what your doing falling to Earth during an invasion? Seems kinda... suspicious.” the youth said in a playful but mysterious tone. Before the prince could open his mouth something huge came barreling through the sky and finally hit close to the two and shook the ground violently. A bomb... a Rikti plasma bomb. These things brought on horrible things. Complete destruction of cities would only be a fraction of the damage toll of these things. “No why one of these! We don't have time for this kid, we must disarm that immediately!” the prince hollered out. The prince quickly started to dash at the bomb but before he could reach it another Rikti squadron had dropped down. “Guardians... great,” the prince thought. “Wait for me!” the youthful hero exclaimed. Dropping down to the prince and ending back to back to him the hero stated, “Name's Lunar Lad, anything I should call you?” “Uh... geez this is not the best time.” the prince says as the fight starts. “Really no hero name! That's really lame, I mean you ARE a hero right?” “Like I said this really isn't the time.” the prince said as the last guardian stood. “Oh come on... How bout Space Boy!” “Really... NO. And I'm a prince not a hero. Or at least, I was.” “Hmmm... how's Star.... mmm. Edge!” “Star Edge?” “Yea! I mean you fell from the stars and you use a sword! And you seem like your on edge?” “Maybe cause your edgy.” the prince laughs. “That's not very nice Star! Ugh...” Lunar Lad says before being smashed to the ground by the Rikti Guardian. “Star Edge...” says the prince, “I like it!” With a fire in his eye the newly named hero Star Edge jumps high into the sky and flys down with his sword thrust down as to cut the Rikti in half. “Hey don't leave me out of this one! Try this Rikti piece of crap, MOON BEAM!” yells Lunar Lad as he fires white beams from his eyes. With a final grunt the Rikti Gaurdian fell before Star Edge and Lunar Lad. “Well that worked out pleasantly.” Star Edge joked. Both the heroes laugh shortly before exclaiming in perfect unison, “THE BOMB!” The bomb had been sitting for about 10-15 minutes now. “Quick Lunar fire everything you have at it!” Star Edge yelled. As both of the heroes start beating the bomb, the timer ticked away. With very little time left and Star Edge slicing away at the bomb and Lunar Lad firing every little trick he knew off at it a fast paced wind shot by. “Hey Lunar, long time no see.” a mysterious bolt of a person said. “Hyperspark! It's been too long!” “A friend of yours I assume?” Star said with a kind of snarl. “Yea but... oh no! Hyper quick star pounding at the bomb its about to blow and were almost to the core!” Lunar said with much desperation on his voice. The three teen heroes continued to pound in the bomb until they had reached its core. “That's it!” Star Edge screamed as he thrust his blade into the middle. The bomb let off a small explosion and sent small shocks through the heroes, but nothing was harmed. “God I'll never get used to that.” stated Star Edge. “You will.” laughed Lunar Lad, “About this time of the year the Rikti love to make stops here thinking we've gotten weaker, or rusty, or something. But I over heard you say that you've fought them before?” “Yea, on my home planet we were attacked by them many years ago, I was still a child, but we drove them off and haven't seen them since.” Star Edge explained. “Hey guys I'd really love to stay and chat but I really need to get back to work since it seems the invasion has let off for now.” Hyperspark said. He was right the sky was blue and with out a cloud or ship in sight.“So your Star Edge right... I'll remember that, later.” And in the blink of an eye, Hyperspark was gone. “So Lunar Lad care to bring me up to speed here?” asked Star Edge. “Sure, but first lets go to my base and we'll grab something to eat on the way.” Lunar Lad said cheerfully. Hours go by and the two teens shared their battle experience and story's of each others life. “So you were dethroned and exiled from your planet by you parents, the king and queen, and told never to come back!? That's rough, I'm glad I didn't have all that drama.” Lunar Lad said in a slightly joking tone. “Yea, but that's not the last of me they'll ever see. I will one day go back and take my throne, but as king. But like I said I was set up. I didn't do anything. But as it seems now I need to find something to call home for the time being.” Star Edge said. “Well welcome to Earth! They're ton of people who live here now that weren't born here, such as my own sweet self! The only thing is you can't go around telling everyone your Star Edge, I mean your a hero now. You need a secret identity! See my names Oliver, yes that's my real name, and I go to your typical Earth high school and work a really lame job. Hyperspark's the same too! Except you won't see him patrolling Paragon as much as everyone else.” “And why's that?” Star Edge questioned. “Cause he's always broke. He doesn't know how to spend money correctly and he always has to work so he can have said moneys that he never has. So he can never buy his costume and therefore can't play with us.” Lunar Lad laughed. “He's just like a kid! Play, ha, since when is superhero work playing?!” thought Star Edge. “Ok, so let's say I go by the name Blaze, since it's my real name anyways. You can cut me out of the whole school and job thing for now. I'd like to get familiar with this city before I do anything else. So this city's called Paragon City, right?” Star Edge said. “Yea, you are currently in a mega city known as Paragon City. Think of it like... well Tokyo. Wait no! You don't know what Tokyo is! Ok, then basically it's a really large cite made up of smaller big cities that are rather close. Currently we are in Atlas Park. This is where most heroes will meet up and start their patrols. It's the safest part of Paragon. I could take you on a tour later. But right now we need to get you out of those lame space like clothes and get you a costume.” “Oh no. This isn't going to be good.” The two teen hero fly off to a city shopping center. They enter into one of the buildings labeled simply as 'Tailor.' They are greeted by an old man who seemed to be busy at work on another heroes costume. “Hey Dan, I brought you a new hero! Straight from space too!” The tailor smiled and dropped what he was doing. Without ever saying a word he begins to sketch out some simple costumes. “So come on Star tell him your powers and don't forget that awesome name of yours.” Shyness kicks in for Star Edge. “Don't worry Star he's the best, he never talks though but I think I do enough talking for the both of us!” Lunar Lad laughed on. “My hero name is Star Edge. I'm a master swordsman, and can create and manipulate fire. Also I can fly but what hero doesn't now days” Star Edge said slightly laughing at the end. “Hyperspark doesn't fly! Also you never told me about the whole fire thing!” Lunar Lad exclaimed. “Sorry haha, most people on my planet can create and/or manipulate many different elements.” As the two of them laughed and carried on, the tailor laid down his final sketch. Star Edge picked up the note book and with the smile that would say yes, he nodded vigorously. It was black with a circle of small stars on the chest and a big white star in the middle. The cape was also black with blue stars lining the sides. It also included a robotic-like mask that went over the eyes, ears, and mouth. The minor things to the costume that stuck out were its blue boots and shoulder rings that tied off the whole space theme. On the sketch paper near the bottom right hand corner was a note that said it could be ready with the next twenty-four hours. With much excitement, Star Edge said that he would take it. Lunar Lad cheered and as they thanked Dan they made their leave. With the first appearance of our hero and new costume on the way; our dynamic duo would make it's first appearance as a new team in the coming days. What is in store for them? And where will the story take us? Stay tuned.
