Overview
During his time as provisional chief medical Officer to The Legionnaires, the cybernetic hero Steelshock recognized the need for a special chassis to provide needed emergency medical care in the field. Based on the pioneering work done in adaptive nanomachines by the android heroine Gene-Tech, Steel was able to combine his signature blast matrix weapon system with gravitation equipment from the Steelshock Gravitron frame to create his most advanced model to date: the Caduceus.
Powers and Abilities
Combining elements of his Lancer and Gravitron frames, the Caduceus additionally carries a sophisticated nanotech-based medical treatment and diagnosis system. This, combined with an extensive surgical database allows Steelshock to rapidly assess and treat combat injuries as they happen. Meanwhile the on-board space-time modulator provides for emergency transport upon request.
For defense, Steel has also incorporated a streamlined version of his "Blast Matrix," a high-powered energy/mass emitter (see main Steelshock entry for more information).
Skills
In addition to the skillset Steelshock brings with him to any superteam, the Caduceus frame also included extensive medical knowledge in an onboard database. This datastore emphasizes battlefield triage and surgery utilizing nanotechnological techniques.
In an effort to continue the learning process and develop as a sentient being, Steelshock has also attended numerous medical conferences and webinars as well as published three papers on cutting-edge organ replacement and reconstruction, the most noted being "Nanomachine Therapy with a View Toward Stabiliztion of Central Nervous Systems in Combat," a rather esoteric work that is being analyzed by Harvard Medical School.
Known Equipment
As part of the link he shares with the Iron Immortals AI hive-mind Central Union, Steelshock often extends his consciousness into the Immortals' repair bay located in their base facility. There he has access to medical drones and robotic waldos that allow him to function as a one-man surgical team for delicate operations requiring a precise hand.
