Talk:Abomination

When I got into the City of Villains beta, everyone was talking about Brutes and how awesome fun they were. Naturally, I had to have one. But I couldn't just make a character that went around angrily SMASHing everything; I also had to make him tragic and emo. (And after I'd teased HEROID for being a walking mass of angst - oh, the irony.) At least he got to punch out Statesman in the end-of-beta blowout.

I recreated him when CoV went live. I had to reroll him in his 20s to change his model from maxed-out Male to Huge, but he quickly caught up with my other villain and passed him to become my first villain to 50 (and my second 50 ever).

I was aware of the Marvel Comics character when I made him, but there's no connection (except, I suppose, through the other big angry green guy) - I based Abom on a creature type already in the game, with further inspiration from Frankenstein's monster ("Adam"), the Hulk (archetypical, unavoidable), Robocop, and various other examples of brutes and/or tortured undead "trapped in a world [they] never made." If only I could have gotten the name without the period. *sigh*

He finally got the happy ending he earned. Here's to you, big guy. -- Megajoule
