Maiko's a Widow from someone else's Widow program - similar methods and result, different people in charge. (In this case, a bunch of Japanese men in suits sitting around a shadowy table with the light reflecting off their glasses.)

Inspirations for this character were Cassandra Cain (the second Batgirl), a little bit of Gunslinger Girls and Evangelion, the SPARTAN program, Cameron's Dark Angel and his inspiration, Gunm aka Battle Angel Alita, and probably a little River Tam. In fact, I probably couldn't have made a better Ms. Fanservice for Joss Whedon if I'd tried. And now I need a long shower with lots of scrubbing. -- Megajoule
