Talk:Star of Justice

Jamie Gunn started out as just a name in his sister's bio. Shadur asked if someone would be willing to make him as a character for RP. I had wanted to make a Peacebringer for a while, having recently gotten my first 50, but nothing had really gelled for me. I figured this was a good way to test the waters, and if it didn't work out...

Well, obviously it did. He's been a great character to play, and roleplay, especially with the changes that made Kheldians more balanced. Of course, now they give 'em out at 20 along with capes, grumblemutter.

"Star of Justice" comes from me trying to reference both the (overused?) astronomical naming convention for Kheldians and the police side. It's one term for the style of badge used by the PPD and many county sheriffs' departments (by contrast to the "shield" more typical of urban police departments, the FBI, etc); it also pops up here and there in mythology. But mostly it's a matter of not being able to think of anything better that wasn't taken, and even so, I had to put a period on the end.  :p

Shortly before Issue 13 (December 2008), when we got Day Jobs and riot shields and all kinds of cop-type goodness, I asked on the forums if there were any police SGs currently active on Virtue. The lack of response swiftly led to a call to create one. Two years later, here I am in charge of the thing. Serves me right for "volunteering." --Megajoule
