Teresa

Background
For centuries, Teresa had the (unwanted) honor of being a torch-bearer for Hecate, the Greek Titan goddess of witchcraft and crossroads. Teresa is one of the Lampades, the nymphs of the Underworld. Sadly, the Underworld wasn’t quite to her liking, being an “awfully gloomy and terribly boring place, truly” with a dearth of handsome mortal men to charm and subsequently run away from.
She eventually got so tired of her job that she quit--supposedly with Hecate’s permission, though Teresa gets a bit evasive if asked directly. She somehow ended up in the Rogue Islands, but it’s slightly unclear as to how or why. Anyone who meets her is quickly able to tell that she’s not exactly your typical villain. She does, however, enjoy setting things on fire a bit too much and is willing to help just about anyone who asks, even if they seem to be on the wrong side of the law. After all, fun is fun, and so is helping people.
Personality
Friendly, kind-hearted, and eager to please, Teresa has few reservations about approaching total strangers. Men in particular are of great interest to her--especially their backsides--but she has no tolerance for any of them who “act like satyrs” and come on too strong. She also has a special place in her heart for “innocent young maidens” and wants to help all of them find love.
She harbors a not-so-secret desire to gain the favor of Eros and Aphrodite and does a bit of “freelance work” for them. The idea of working for them is far more appealing to her than carrying a torch throughout the night for Hecate. Of course, Eros and Aphrodite neither know nor care about her mission, but that doesn’t seem to bother Teresa in the least. They’ll come around eventually.
Teresa often speaks before she thinks--if she even stops to think at all--but she means well.
Life on the Surface
“Oh, this place is so lively!”
Teresa’s still trying to fit into the modern world, but she’s not having all that much trouble, aside from her choice of attire (which isn’t that strange compared to all the heroes and villains who practically run around naked) and occasionally awkward, formal manner of speaking. She even has her own cell phone--but who doesn’t?--in hopes of getting male mortals’ numbers in Pocket D.
She spends quite a bit of time in the D, actually, often observing the (sometimes bizarre) courtship rituals of all manner of beings, whether they be male, female, both, or neither. Teresa seems to enjoy surface life very much.
Appearance
Like all nymphs, she’s quite pretty and slender, with red hair and green eyes. She’s otherwise unremarkable aside from being on the short side, a fact she’s not too fond of. She hates being mistaken for a child.
People Who Put Up with Her
Agent Lauren One of Teresa’s battle buddies and unfortunate matchmaking victims. Teresa has tried to set her up with just about every man in Pocket D, nearly sending Lauren into a murderous rage that would end the nymph’s life permanently. Luckily, Teresa was stopped just in time and managed to survive.
Skull Sovereign The man who managed to save Teresa’s life by explaining that Teresa--whom he nicknamed Tessa--was practically “pimping her friend out” by trying to hook her up with every available male in sight. This was incredibly discouraging to the well-meaning nymph, but she soon recovered and took an intense interest in Kyle’s love life. It’s now her mission to see him end up with “his Helen,” who she firmly believes has been stolen from him by “a wretched Paris.” She’s already very fond of him and wants to see him smile as much as possible.
Operative Nobel Another male human whose love life Tessa has taken an interest in. She swears he’s torn between two fellow Arachnos, the aforementioned Lady Lauren as well as Lady Luca. He also has “a magnificent backside,” which distracts her when she fights alongside of--or more often behind--him. Lord Nobel, as she calls him, refers to her as his “biggest fan.”
Widow De Luca A cold, ruthlessly practical Widow who also manages to tolerate Teresa, though usually only when they fight together. Teresa thinks that Lady Luca is the frontrunner for Lord Nobel’s affections and does her best to push them together, much to Luca’s annoyance. Still, Luca finds Teresa to be at least marginally useful and hasn’t threatened to kill her--yet.
