Summary
The Mighty Brigade is a covert freelance special ops non-government strike team. The team is made up of brave heroes who agree to perform extremely dangerous missions, putting their own personal security at risk in the name of peace.
The Brigade was formed in 2006 by Domgeorm and now consists of superheroes who allegedly do not fit the norms of the mainstream superhero community. The sole leadership was recently relinquished by Ice Bow and was offered to Signal Arrow, she accepted with one caveat, that Ice Bow remain on to share the load.
History
The Eagle Brigade
The origins of The Mighty Brigade can be traced back to four heroes who served together during the Second World War.
Domgeorn, Bjorn Black Beard, The Marathonist and Darkstuff.
These four heroes were entrusted with a secret mission. Their task was to sabotage a new class of super-submarine that was able to travel without detection before its construction was completed. The Allied high command having located the base that the super-submarine was being constructed at dispatched the four heroes to the artic circle.
Golden Age
The sabotage mission was codenamed “Sea Eagle” and would see the four heroes dropped by parachute into Greenland, once there they were required to navigate their way across the tundra to the location of the 5th Column base.
For four long days the four faced the polar weather, the air was frigid and the wind bitter, icicles had started to form in Bjorns beard long before they had found their target location.
From the moment they entered the base, the fight was on. For although they were not expected the troops making up the security force within the base reacted quickly. The majority of the people within the base were engineers and scientists, however the security force detachment was made up entirely of Werewolves and Vampyres such did the 5th Column prize this base. Even some of the prototype automatons were dispatched into the battle to try to fight off the heroes. The ‘Sea Eagle’ unit fought bravely through the base, eventually taking control of the super-submarine and sailing it out into the arctic sea with the intent of making it to safer waters from where they could be rescued and the submarine could be sunk. However the fight for the submarine had taken a heavy toll, Domgeorn had been seriously wounded with a magical dagger, Bjorn had lost an eye and Darkstuff had been drained by Vampyres, only The Marathonist was fit enough to pilot the submarine.
