Character History
Arrival
The luminous object was detected by observers several days in advance, but as it hurtled through space from its point of origin somewhere in orbit of Saturn, it was far from inert. Its course changing, none could predict that it would come to enter the Earth's atmosphere, and even less where it's point of impact would be. When there sphere of light fell through Paragon City airspace, it was too late. The rescue workers rushed to the devastated zone were the first to encounter the towering humanoid lumbering away from the point of impact. Severely wounded, disoriented and speaking in an unknown language, the unearthly being wandered through streets, unstable energy slowly dissipating around him.
His confusion at the city around him soon turned into rage when he was confronted by police. Before being subdued, he had maimed several people and caused much additional property damage in his rampage. In consequence of that and the destruction caused by the crash itself, he was quickly sent to be contained at Ziggursky Penitentiary.
Captivity
Once secured in an underground containment cell, the being became lethargic, seemingly inert, in sharp contrast to the vast destructive force evident in the original rampage. The being's extensive physical damage, more like craters and cracks than wounds on the nearly inert being, didn't seem to be healing for the first few weeks, time during which agents from the FBSA studied the alien husk.
Powers and Abilities
The Throne's powers derive from his inhuman physiology. The collected energy that drives and sustains his body can be channelled back outside of it through the same living network of pathways and optical structures, to create a variety of effects honed through training.
Radiant Wrath
While every muscle in his body moves through his body's natural flow of pure energy, the Throne has learned to focus more of it to his limbs to increase the destructive force of his blows.
Celestial Travel
By creating an electro-magnetic field attuned to the planet's, the Throne achieves flight, propelled by controlled warping of this field's shape and energy flow.
Celestial Wheels
By triggering complex series of disturbances in ambient fields of energy, the Throne can create short-lived structures of cohesive energy; including interlocking rings that can be used to restrain several persons.
Angelic Sustenance
Both the Throne's powers and his metabolic processes are fuelled by the direct absorbtion of ambient energy. While not impervious to physical damage from destructive energy, he can channel a portion of the excess energy, dissipating it harmlessly or even repairing the damaged tissue near instantly using it.
Conversely, the Throne needs little in the way of material sustenance, even allowing him to survive in the void of space for a time without assistance. His self-contained physiology also protects him from the full effects most toxins, corrosive and infectious agents would normally have on his organic tissue. Because of a variety of factors, including the polarized barrier of his skin and the rudimentary function of his digestive and respiratory organ make contamination generally superficial compared to that which would be suffered by Earthborn beings.
