Timebender
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Timebender is a roleplaying character in waiting. Eventually, his storyline will expand into the creation of a high-concept, high-RP supergroup. For now, though, he’s going to stay in the dark about his history and future.

None officially, although he has been strangely drawn to heroes The Brass Bat and Regen Jen. This unusual pull has been the source of much confusion with Timebender and he describes the phenomenon: "It's as if we're all the white rabbit, but none of us know what we're late for." Brass Bat and Regen Jen have reported feeling much the same way.
Origin
Very little is known about the hero called Timebender. He appeared suddenly at the center of Perez Park, punching through a rift in the timestream. His memory is completely shattered as a result, and he can only remember the most basic information about his identity. His given name is August Zietrick, a German doctor who immigrated to America as a teenager. Zietrick claims to be a mutant with an exceedingly rare ability to manipulate time, although he has been unable to use any of his alleged powers. Instead, Zietrick is host to a kheldian that goes by the unusual name of Sirenstar. This kheldian soul appears to have even less memory than Zietrick, and their two personalities remain unusually distinct. Kheldian trainer Sunstorm has often commented that the Timebender/Sirenstar merging appears to be an odd couple.
It seems obvious that Timebender is from a later point in the timestream, perhaps even an alternate one. Zietrick knows very little for certain. He remembers urgency, fire, and a lot of pain. He knows that wherever he’s come from, it was not a nice place. Seeking purpose, Timebender has registered with Paragon City and begun hero work again. He’s hoping that something will jog his memory and give him an idea of what kind of past (or future) he’s left behind.
Powers
Although Timebender claims to have once wielded time control abilities, his current powers derive exclusively from the kheldian, Sirenstar, that resides within him.
Luminous Blast
Timebender can throw blasts of gleaming energy that provides searing, but non-lethal, offense against his enemies. His energy reserves appear almost unlimited, meaning that he is capable of dishing out quite a lot of energy before he tires.
Luminous Aura
Timebender can tap into the kheldian energy for a variety of other effects. He can create a shield of pure light around his body and even heal superficial wounds. These powers are common among kheldians.
Other Powers
Flight
As with all Peacebringer kheldians, Timebender can tap into his energy reserves to temporarily make his body lighter than air.
Shapeshifting
Timebender can release a burst of energy and temporarily give control over the shared body to the kheldian, Sirenstar. Sirenstar takes the form of a flying, tentacled alien and can launch a devastating assault of light energy. Unlike other kheldians, a personality shift often takes place here, allowing Sirenstar to take control.
Abilities
Timebender is a scientist first and foremost, and can often be found poring over books or working long hours at his computer. Timebender uses his academic skills and exceptional IQ to outthink the criminals he faces. Timebender is also an accomplished inventor and created the CHRONOS powersuit from scrap metal and books on time theory. Timebender dryly refers to the suit as the Hawking, named after the author of A Brief History of Time.
CHRONOS Powersuit
Timebender claims to have dormant time control abilities, but they are not the extent of his time mastery. Timebender’s suit is a sophisticated set of armor that allows him to stay current in this timeline. Per his own complex theories on time travel and those of renowned modern scientists, Timebender theorizes that by unsticking in time he might have permanently removed himself the timestream. Therefore, he could flash forward or backward at any moment. Fearing the obvious dangers, Timebender created CHRONOS. The suit is capable of stabilizing Timebender and maintaining him in this time, like an anchor. Timebender guesses the suit will be necessary until he figures out when he came from and how exactly to get back.
Personality
Timebender is cheerful and friendly, but his work is his life. People are a secondary consideration. Timebender is apt to spending days at a time solving some complex riddle or math proof, and can appear to have little time for the finer things in life. Haughty, aloof, but with a genuine caring spirit. Sirenstar, on the other hand, is a fun-loving and carefree sort. When the kheldian is fully in control, it often comments about how its mortal host just needs to "lighten up."
Disappearance
With the arrival of Mender Silos and his cadre of time travelers, Timbender thought he had found his answer. He petitioned the Menders to investigate whether he was a lost member of their order, perhaps even from their future. After much debate, Mender Silos agreed to a complex "time thread purge", a procedure that should have tracked down the exact origin of his time jumping. Unfortunately, something went wrong with the procedure and Timebender disappeared in the resulting chronal backlash. Nothing is currently known about his whereabouts, but it appears very unlikely that he will be returning to the Virtue Universe.
