Background
Raised from infancy by The Kindred of the Fist of Death, an ancient order of Teutonic assassins, Claudia knows everything about killing and nothing about remorse. She grew up surrounded by instruments of death, and she could throw knives before she could read. Her every waking moment has been dedicated to honing herself into the ultimate deadly weapon. Her final test came on the moonless night of her 19th birthday, when she faced her own father in single combat on the roof of her ancestral castle; only she returned.
Abilities
Totenfaust's body and mind are in constant training, and both are nearing the peak of Human potential; she is faster, stronger and healthier than most Olympic athletes, and she thinks and reacts faster than most special forces operatives.
Totenfaust is the master of a secret blend of more than a dozen of the world's most merciless martial arts styles. She can inflict irreparable harm with the thrust of a single finger, and deal out certain death with one well-placed kick. One of her notable specialties is driving a needle-tipped finger or stiletto heel into vulnerable areas like the heart, major arteries, or the thin areas of the skull. The brutal neatness of these blows has led some of her victims' autopsies to incorrectly conclude that they were killed by ice bullets or other dissolving munitions.
Perhaps as dangerous as her martial skill is Totenfaust's mastery of covert infiltration. The level of silence and stealth she maintains approaches actual invisibility. She seems to instinctively seek blind spots with her every move, and those few who have survived an encounter with her (none of them primary targets) could barely describe her. She could run across a cement path strewn with dry leaves and make less noise than the passing wind.
By the time people sense her presence, it is almost always far, far too late...
Equipment
Totenfaust wears a complex uniform that at first glance (when anyone manages to get one) seems to serve only fetishistic purposes. However, her costume's distracting image is the least of its many uses:
Nachtfell Suit
A form-fitting "Night-Hide" suit gives her excellent freedom of movement,
while both insulating her body heat from infrared sensors and
providing good protection from impacts and blades.
Nadelkralle Gauntlets and Boots
The "Needle-Claw" toes, knuckles, heels and fingertips of these gloves
and boots are strengthened with titanium-steel alloy ridges and points,
focusing Totenfaust's kicks and punches onto lethally-small areas.
Shattenmantel Cloak
The "Shadow Cloak" helps to break up her silhouette, and confuses the aim
of enemy marksmen. It also includes a fire- and bullet-resistant underlay.
Heimlichkeitlarve Mask
Totenfaust's distinctive hooded "Stealth Mask" conceals the sounds and heat
of her breathing, while providing vision enhancements and a full respirator
as needed.
Over top of this panoply rests a web of pockets and sheathes containing surveillance gear, throwing knives, small explosives, poisons, and many others tricks of the assassin's trade.
Personality
"Merciless" barely begins to describe Totenfaust. Any rational psychological profile would put her on the far side of psychopathic. She can take lives as easily as normal people take walks. She has never refused a target, no matter their virtue or villainy. She has never killed a child, but then again . . . no one has ever hired her to.
The same callous manner applies to her own well-being as well; she hasn't cried out in pain since she was three years old, and more than once she has completed assassinations against powerful targets while suffering from injuries that would leave an average person shrieking in agony. The Nachtfell hides a multitude of scars.
Totenfaust's few moments of leisure time outside of work and training are devoted to studying Human anatomy;
she has a sizable collection of corpses in her castle in Bavaria, all painstakingly plastinated into preserved
sculptures.
Weaknesses
No matter how deadly her skills or how excellent her equipment, Totenfaust is still only Human. A single lucky
blast, bullet or blade could end her life as surely as anyone else's. So far, however, her luck holds...
