Introduction

Tyler Preston is the hero-side offshoot of Michael Nightingale's main character Rakescar, created in Apirl 2006. It was the first City of Hero side toon created, in an attempt to recreate the same powers and threat level the villian side equal had, not so useful as a PvP toon, it stayed mostly a PvE RP toon for plot foils and interaction.

Personality

Tyler Preston is a very strong normal human being capable of nothing remarkable past being more in shape than the common man. A genuinely nice person, he holds his friends in high reguard, both of lawful and unlawful intentions. He is not a pure hearted man, but generally believes in the good fight.

Having been possessed by the demonic enity Rakescar, Tyler has a few more added personality traits. He is far more easily agitated and prone to violent reactions to problems. Additionally, Tyler does not specifically side with either one side or the other of the blue/red Power struggle, but rather wants a fine balance to play both sides as a chance to beat up more people.

Powers

None

Tyler does have a strong right cross, but nothing compared to the metahumans and humanoids that inhabit Paragon City or the Rogue Isles.

Character History

Tyler Austin Preston was born in Millville, New Jersey to Parents David and Anne Preston. Growing up he exhibited typical adolescant anti-social behavior, until he discovered drumming, which he took to like a duck to water, playing in the high school Jazz Band, Orchestra, Pep Band, and football marching band. After graduation, Tyler's family could not afford sending another child to college. Tyler opted to instead work in the car factories as a line worker, where he began to work out on a regular basis. In his off time, he would continue to drum in the family's garage. Eventually, he and a couple of high school friends formed a rock'n'roll band called Rakescar that followed the sound of classic rock ledgends like AC~DC, Motley Crue, and Judas Priest. Gaining a considerable fan following in the North Jersey area, they were invited to headline a show at an abandoned Legacy Chain Temple, supposedly to audition for a chance to be signed by a record company.

The first half of the set went incredibly well, but, ironically, it soon went all to hell.

The noise created by the band and the screaming fans awoke the ancient Legacy Chain spirits beneath the temple, and began to terrorize and attack the crowd. In the middle of the chaos, one spirit summoned a golem to encase Tyler completely in a stone tomb. The proverbial lucky break was that the golem itself accidentally housed the spirit of the Norse demon Ganglati, and when a large pyrotechnics assembly discharged, the spirit severed the spell it was casting, and the demon Ganglati encased Tyler not as a tomb, but a permanent suit of stone armor. Longbow arrived on the scene and quickly disspelled the spirits and neutralized Tyler and his rocky guest. Police and Longbow reports confirmed the death of 3 band members, two spectators, and two Longbow agents, along with dozens of inured. Among the supposed dead, was Tyler Preston, who unbeknownst to the Longbow agents was the man beneath the golem.

Tyler was interred indefinately into the Ziggursky Maximum Security Prison in Brickstown district of Paragon City, assigned to the prodominantly Troll infested and controlled Orange Block. After a few months of being a silent prisoner and the subject of many Troll beatings, Tyler suddenly exploded in rage and led a rampage that left five prisoners dead and 31 injured, among the dead being the leader of the Troll prison gang. It was there Tyler took up the name he would become infamous in both the Isles and Paragon for:

Rakescar.

After the massive prison breach executed by Arachnos, Tyler wandered the Rogue Isles at first preying upon weaker beings such as the infected and snakes. As his confidance grew, he began taking on tougher opponents, and even several that outclassed him at once. Time and time again, he began to come out on top. Soon he began to develop an attention complex, and desired to be known by everyone in the Isles and Paragon. Finding refuge within the growing ranks of the self-interest-serving X-Patriots, Tylerfound the manpower backing to thrust himself out in front of many major conflicts, climaxing in a two month inhabitation of the conflict zone known as Siren's Call, where he became known as "The Scourge of Siren's", famous for sending many packs of heroes into terror and disarry with his relentless assault and madman zeal, even when faced against insurmountable odds. He jumped from a trivial thug to a priority one villian on the radars of many hero organizations. Heroes began to focus more on hunting him down, spearheading the effort was the notable hero Inertial. It was not for any kind of ultimate goal of evil intentions heroes began taking Tyler seriously, it was only because of the pure juvienile gratification Tyler embraced when he caused chaos.
