History
(This is a work in progress. I prefer to leave most of this up to in character play. It is not a matter of hiding the story. It’s actually a matter of discovering the story and letting others fill in the blanks, but you might need to know the history of her people and how she got here.)
Coristasia was born Third Daughter of the Empire, on the planet Mizar. She is a daughter of last Emperor and Empress.
The constellation Ursa Major is composed of worlds and colonies from the Mizar and Alcor systems. The people of ancient Mizar drew power from the dwarf stars that inhabit most of the constellation and that brought them to the stars long before the people of Alcor Prime.
The ancient Alcorian were not gifted with the same powers but the Mizar were benevolent and helped the Alcorians through a dark time in their history and together they spread to other worlds and stars. As time went on the people became one race, the Mizarian, but with three distinct ethnic groupings. Though all Mizarians have the same skin tone, black eyes and aging patterns (as discussed below), not all of them retained the powers of the ancient Mizar.
The most powerful, became the Empire’s royal bloodline. Though each of these Royals had the purest Mizar blood, most were happy to serve as space explorers and guards of the royal family.
The middle rank, a hybrid of the two original races known as the Torvarians, did not retain the powers of the Mizar but were able to manipulate the vast spaceships and advance technologies powered by Mizar abilities.
The final rank had no powers at all. Through purpose (some of the Alcorians did not believe the Mizar were worthy of interbreeding) or chance, the bulk of Mizarians were like the humans of our world or the early Alcorians. Mizarian technology evolved to assist the Alcorian decended people.
Through political manipulation and use of technology of unknown origin, Mamajek led the Alcorian decended and many of the hybrids in a revolution against the Royals. Mamajek and her followers slaughtered billions of the Mizarian people. On the final days, as the last of the Royals fell home world of Mizar was invaded and the Royal family wiped out along with the rest of their foul blood. Mamajek named herself President-General and had anyone who opposed her destroyed.
At least, that’s what Mamajek believes happened. In a desperate plan to move Riccolette and her sisters to safety, Coristasia and her bodyguard Moorican secured a spaceship to flee with the royal heirs. However, as the battle raged toward the palace Galaelestra, Riccolette and Castile fell defending the way to the ship. Coristasia’s father dressed one of the Royal Guards in Coristasia’s clothes and ordered Moorican to leave them behind.
Coristasia protested but Moorican drugged her and did as he was ordered. Though the ruse was perfect, the ship was damaged in random firefights leaving the system. Moorican limped the ship to Earth and crashed there. When Coristasia awoke she found a message from her father detailing the final minutes of the Empire of Mizaria and her bodyguard, cousin and friend dead.
She spent several weeks plotting her revenge. She learned several human languages as best she could in a short time to learn what resources she could use to take back her family’s home. Fortunately, in her studies, she learned about the heroes of Paragon City, of Earth and those aliens, beasts and spirits who call Earth home. Inspired, she vowed to cast aside her hate and try to be like the heroes she’d learned about.
Life in Paragon City
As the hero UrsulaMajor, Coristasia joined The Justiciars early on in her career and has spent her time growing and learning more of the Earth's culture. Though she was able to learn much about Earth through reading and computers, there are many mannerisms which confuse her. The members of her new family have taught her patience, humor, honor and even the budding tugs of love.
Physical Characteristics
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 150 lbs
Eye color: Black, completely dark with no visible iris or pupil sections.
Hair color: White
Age: 17 Earth years. The people of Mizaria age, develop and mature faster than humans due to the intense infrared radiation generated by the 4 white dwarf stars that make up Mizar. Mizarians reach adulthood around 12 earth years, but heirs to the throne (no matter how far down the line) are kept relatively sequestered another 12 earth years.
Other distinguishing features: Despite having 4 suns, Mizar is bathed in relatively little ultraviolet and visible light. As such they have no skin pigment that reacts with our sun creating a pale, flat white color.
Powers
Strength level
Ursula's strength is comparable to a normal human in good physical shape.
Known superhuman powers
As a member of the Mizarian noble bloodline, Ursula has the innate ability to absorb ultraviolet light and channel it through her body. This gives her most of her powers. Her body can convert the energy into waves of force that can be directed at a specific target, a group of targets or around her body for increased strength and flight propulsion. Her eyes absorb more light than a human. This allows her to see better in low light conditions but results in difficulty seeing in the afternoon sun.
Abilities
Limited combat training, but only enough to satisfy her requirements as a princess.
Limitations
Requires UV light to recharge her powers. Her body should be able to store at least one day’s worth of regular heroic deeds but she’s had little practical experience to this effect. It is unclear what UV deprivation would do to her except negate her ability to use energy projection and flight. No Royal Guard member has been reported to die from lack of UV.
As stated in the powers section, her eyes are sensitive to the intense light of Sol. Direct or even reflected light in a concentrated amount would dazzle her greatly.
