Hi! I'm themightyemu. My global's @themightyemu. Original, ain't it? I've been playing CoH for five going on six years (it was my first MMO), my only other dabbling in MMOs was WoW which I quit a long time ago.
My characters are:
Heroes:
Terra Skye (Earth/Storm controller): My longest played character (ever) and first 50. She's also played under Terra.Skye (Gravity/Sonic controller-fifty number 7), or as I call her the 2.0 version. 3.0 is a (Fire/Rad controller)
Marie Gallahad: (Empathy/Electric defender): My second 50. A tribute character to another CoH character, Oksah. She used to be called Nosila Marie, but then the character got married to Cobalt Claymore
Invisible Osprey: Formerly a defender, now a Katana/Dark Armor scrapper. My fourth 50. The Dark Miasma/Energy defender version was shelved for awhile, then I changed the name and look and made it an NPC.
Shava (Fire/Energy): My blaster, really takes a lot of energy to role-play. I take it as a personal challenge to come up with something weird and over the top with her each time she's played (from cyrofreezing cats to bacon lingerie) 50 number eight.
Violet Vision: My Squid! Sadly a victim of my altitis.
Subtronic (Willpower/Super Strength): My tank. I heart Willpower so much. He's also so much fun to role-play. 50 number five.
Master of Moonshadow (Dark Miasma/Energy Blast): I took a shelved defender, renamed it, and gave it a new look. He's an NPC for another character.
Magnetic Mole (Electric Control/Stone Melee): Former Resistance member turned hero. Finally a Dom powerset I was able to play past the teens.
Ljosalfar: (Kinetic/Invulnerability Scrapper) Elves through SCIENCE! Loyalist turned hero.
Vigilantes:
Piper McCormick: (Dual Blades/Ninjitsu Stalker) My current main. The first character I've brought over to CoH from a previous game (it was Scion, if you're curious), she's turning out to be a lot of fun. 50 number nine. I also took my shelved Arachnos Widow (Fifty number 6) and changed the name and look to Piper's (though the widow version has yet to go rogue yet). Piper's also got a blueside version that started out as a way to get into blueside RP pre-Going Rogue, but ended up in her thirties when the expansion came out; she's a Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper and is fifty number 11.
Villians:
S1lv3r Bull3t (Claws/Regen): My stalker. My first redside 50 and third 50 overall. He's got a 2.0 version that's a Claws/Willpower Brute (Fifty number 10).
Rogues:
Deviant Red (Fire/Kin Corruptor): The first Deviant Red was a nod to several table-top games (Deadlands, Call of Cthulhu, Kult, and even Tribe 8) but I could never find a 'voice' for the character so she's getting a reboot. The second version was a CoV concept I could never find the right powerset for but with power customization I thought I could make it fit. Fifty Number 12.
Skilljack (Robots/Traps Mastermind): Another concept that I had problems finding the right powerset for and settled for this one.
Lightweb (Arachnos Soldier): The second character I brought from another game, this time from the Buffyverse. Another character I simply love to roleplay.
As for the origin of the name themightyemu, Emu is an over a decade old nickname given to me by two of my dearest friends. As they had animal nicknames, they felt I should have one too and landed on 'Emu'. I took it as an online handle and while 'Emu' was usually taken, adding on 'themighty' usually made for an available handle. I've been using themightyemu for as long as I've been online.
