Varunis

The offspring of a forced mating between a Naga and an Atlantean, Varunis (Varu-nis), we kept captive by the Naga for many years, during this time he was subjected to experiments that often times brought him to the brink of death, so much so that he formed a bond with that realm and is able to draw on it as a source of power. It was this ability that helped him gain his freedom.

After escaping Naga confinement he sought out the protection of the Atlanteans, to his shock they welcomed him into their community with little hesitation. This surprising act of charity left Varunis beside himself, after years of torture and ill-treatment he was being treated not only as an equal but with respect. And so it was with this first act of kindness that Varunis' loyalty to the Atlantean Empire was cemented. When the call of Leviathas came down through the currents Varunis did not hesitate to start the journey to the surface. Top-side Varunis now fights in Paragon City on behalf of his benefactors.

Unable to speak due to his physiology and cripplingly shy due to his outward appearance Varunis has donned a hood that obscures his face and communicates his best with nods and gestures.
