History
Richard and Janine Thompson were a blessed couple. They lived in a small mansion in Founders' Falls, had a beautiful two year old daughter, Tessa, were expecting a second child very soon, and were never want for anything. Richard Thompson was the Founder and CEO of FlameTech Corp, a multi-national company specializing in weapons and defense. Janine Thompson was a one of the most sought after pediatric doctors on the eastern seaboard. They had connections in both the political and hero world, Richard being a close friend of the hero Blue Nova, who helped with proto-testing for FlameTech.
In October they were blessed with a second daughter, whom they named Sara. She was just like any other infant, except she was extremely curious and intuitive. By 9 months she was walking, and talking by 12 months. She had reddish brown hair and a smile that could light up a room. Their life was perfect, until Sara turned four. Then it was perfect, with a twist. When Sara turned four, her mutant ability to manipulate ambient energy, both kinetic and potential, showed itself. During her family's celebration of her birthday, she hit the kitchen table, and activating the energy stored in its atoms, she blew up the table. Luckily no one was hurt, but unfortunately the table was incinerated and their kitchen and dinning room were in shambles. From that point on Sara was put under the tutilage of Blue Nova, who had powers very similar to Sara's, and homeschooled.
During the seven years that Sara studied under Blue Nova, she was still loved by her family and friends, and grew up looking at her abilites as a gift. By the age of eleven, Sara was in full control of her powers and finding new ways to use them. Blue Nova was astounded, and her family was just as proud (by now she has a younger brother, Keith, born four years after Sara). Sara went back to the public school system the fall of her eleventh birthday. Her two best friends, Katrina and Lisa, were the only people she told about her powers. Having an IQ of 195, Sara raced through middle and high school, then enrolled in Paragon University at age 17. She graduated Paragon U at the age of 20 with a double major in Electrical Engineering and Biotech/Bio Engineering. As of now she is currently working on her Masters in Electrical Engineering.
Right out of college she was hired by Crey Industries to help work on their newest project, the Memory Dump. After production, a year later, Sara left Crey due to a "conflict of interests." The said "confict" about the Memory Dump had to do with a scheme Crey came up with. They were going to use the device to read and record the thoughts of the people that used the device (it was made to hold memories so that they would be easily retrieved when needed). She felt guilty when she found out about it, since she had been a major player in it's creation. So, with the help of Blue Nova, she had the warehouse, storing a majority of the devices, destroyed. The rest were recalled by Crey because of possibly "security issues." Sara claims she left the company because Crey was trying to point a finger at her, saying she left a hole in the device's coding (none of this ever went public, it was all within the company). Unfortunately Crey had their hands tied as the money was written into her contract (with a little help from her father and FlameTech's attorneys). She left a very multi-millionaire.
Sara now lives in a penthouse apartment with her boyfriend, Alexi Davis, another Paragon University grad. In her off times she loves to go shopping, tinker/invent, and go out with her friends (she has other hobbies, but those are the most common). After seeing the corruption within Crey and the good she could do for society with her money and abilities, and the help of her family, Sara donned the mask and became Veiled Hawk. She chose the name to honor her pet hunting hawk she had when she was younger. The only people that know she is Veiled Hawk are her immediate family, Katrina, and Lisa.
