The Terminal Galaxy of Hydra-X

It is well-documented that the galaxy contains not one, not two, but three matching stars several times larger than the sun of the Milky Way. Every planet and moon except for the most distant life-supporting planet was immolated by the rays of the Alpha, Omega and Ao set of suns, the original inhabitants of the only remaining hospitable planet of Ydra, the Ydrax, nearly destroyed themselves in a panic-induced planet-wide civil war. They had badly damaged the magnetic field and 'ozone' of Ydra; nothing could stop the natural gravitational pull of the planet from simply yanking escaping "mobile colonies" and starships out of the depths of space. The Ydrax had doomed themselves, and their entire galaxy, almost all of them killed either in the war or by other results of the war's aftermath.

The Vemivoru Gangs

Every species that had made it off their immolating homeworlds - or every species that could -- found itself eventually crashlanding into Ydra, the planet's core wildly drawing escaping space-faring species out of the vacuums of space. One of the first races to smash into the planet were the Vemivoru; formerly of the planet Voreal-Khas and its Vorean Empire, these reptilian, humanoid sentients were tyrannical experts of extortion -- and though the majority of what was once a grand empire had been set to shambles, they quickly learned how to get what they wanted from the numbered Ydraxian populace. Weak, sick, wounded or some mixture thereof, they could do naught but watch as the Vemivoru's new leader (whose "clan name" would be altered to Ydra for political reasons), Yojira-khal-Troyo, quickly found a seat of power after managing to extort all the wealth and power he could muster from the former tyrannical Emperor of the Vemivoru. In a way, Troyo's intentions are good; he wants to restore the planet, and hopefully the entire galaxy of Hydra-X if possible, but his means with which to do so are questionable at best. He is known for having all of the shelters on Ydra built, selling safety to the races that could not resist the heat of the A/O/AO triplet star system.

All Eyes on Praetoria: Set Course for Primal

Though the inhabitants of Earth still question exactly how they got out of their galaxy and wound up here, Troyo had sent some of his most loyal subjects to Primal Earth as political liaisons (one of them being Earth's own "hero", Venomvein) as well as a large force of his strongest warriors to both combat the Rikti and help fend off the Praetorian invaders. In reality, no one seemed to notice as Troyo had technology from the Rikti and the Praetorians funneled back to Ydra. Troyo had teleportation units that he had seized from the Ydrax to let the Vemivoru back and forth between their world and Primal Earth, letting him smuggle all the technology he could get his hands on back home.
