Character History
Elias Burke was born in the bad side of New York City. His family disappeared one day and he became the property of a Yakuza boss named Matsuo Tanaka. He was trained to kill to repay his parents' debt to him and accepted the jobs, hoping one day to buy his own freedom. Somewhere along the way though he was partnered with another killer in much the same position as he was. Shin Lao, who they called the Ghost, was an incredible sniper and they worked together for many jobs, Elias eventually buying her freedom, at the cost of falling deeper in debt to Boss Tanaka. One job, he refused to kill another gang leader that would have upset the tenuous balance of the neighborhood and the Boss hired professionals to kill him. Barely surviving, with a trio of bullet wounds in his chest, he clawed his way back from the dead to have his vengeance, killing Boss Tanaka and most of his hirelings with the help of Shin Lao and NYPD detective Lenny Skinner.
After the affair, not even Detective Skinner, who turned in dozens of cops on the take in the process of the job, couldn't stop the police from issuing a warrant for Elias' arrest after the explosions and collateral damage done with the demolition of Boss Tanaka's compound. Elias and Shin Lao, now romantically involved, fled NYC and wound up in the Rogue Isles, where they ran from both Police and Matsuo Tanaka's son Gao. Recently, a botched attempt on Elias' life killed Shin Lao, and he's turned grim and hard, his focus razor sharp on one goal, killing Gao and ending the threat to him and those around him
Trivia
The Viper is my oldest rpg character, spanning several games, finally settling here with the release of the Thugs MM set. He has no pets, true to his character, relying on his guns and reflexes to keep him alive, with varying degrees of success at times.
The Viper is completely slotted with IO sets, making it feasible to run as a petless Mastermind, but still very very human.
