Wind-Man, while the most recent character I've created on CoH, is actually a superhero that I created for personal comic books when I was in elementary school. More than a decade later, he has been tweaked for the CoH universe, and has quickly become my main character.

Character History

Personality

From a young age, Wind-Man has always admired superheroes - it's why when he received his powers, he almost immediately chose to enter the hero "profession". Always willing to help, Wind-Man has a strong moral code: there's right, and there's wrong. However, he's experienced enough to know that there are subtle degrees between the two that have to be considered in every situation. In battle, he always puts the safety of bystandards before himself - which results in him rushing into battle, with little or no regard for himself in order to defeat all the enemies quickly. Often he is headstrong, but he understands how to be methodical in certain situations. If he has one dominating personality trait, it's that he enjoys having superpowers and fighting evil more than anything else. The in the thrill of battle, he often spouts catchphrases like "Feel the breeze, chump!" and "It's time to dance!" along with taunting the enemy. Exuberant and lively, Wind-Man gets along with most other heroes, often working as much in teams as a solo act. Lastly, Wind-Man does have a darker side: when necessary, he has fought to kill before.

Powers

The core of Wind-Man's powers are derived from his aerokinetic abilities: the ability to control air and wind.

Wind Beams and Blasts (Energy Blast)

Wind-Man's primary utilization of his aerokinetic abilities. The air around Wind-Man is drawn into his hands, concentrated until heat and pressure changes the air's physical composition (until resembling plasma), and then expelled forward, similar to an air cannon. However, the air is now full of kinetic energy to the point where it gives off light and heat, and behaves similar to photons. The results are blasts of highly concentrated wind that cause concussive damage and launch the enemy away. Wind-Man can also control the characteristics of the attacks, turning them into long-distance beams of energy, close range shotgun-like bursts of energy, and sniper-like balls of energy.

Concentrated Air Punches (Energy Manipulation)

Like his Wind Beams, Wind-Man's secondary utilization of his aerokinesis involves the extreme concentration of air to increase it's levels of energy. However, instead of concentrating it to release it, Wind-Man keeps the air circulating tightly around his hand, increasing the power of his punches. The high levels of energy of the concentrated air combined with Wind-Man's enhanced strength and his martial arts training make him as effective a hand-to-hand fighter as he is a ranged combatant. The circulating air forms orbs around his fists, give off a reddish-white light, and have the ability to launch his opponents incredible distances, setting them up for his ranged Wind Beams. His Air Punches give Wind-Man the ability to get up close and personal with enemies, but it has a downside: Wind-Man has few defensive abilities protect him in the thick of battle - a fact that he often ignores.

Additional Powers

Flight and Levitation

Wind-Man utilizes aerokinesis to fly and hover as well. His special flying technique is known as Air Stacking: by layering air currents around his body, he can increase his flight speed without using an excess amount of energy - in fact, often no energy at all. Using this technique, he can fly across the country and even across oceans.

Accelerated Aerobic Process and Healing (Fitness)

Wind-Man's powers aren't limited to controlling the wind around him: his aerokinetic abilities are at work unconsciously in his body. His aerokinesis allows his aerobic respiration processes to work nearly five times as fast, meaning his endurance recovers much quickly. Because his respiration process is working so fast, his healing processes are also increased, and wounds close fast than usual.

Enhanced Strength (Jump Kick/Swift)

Wind-Man's strength is also increased do to both his enhanced respiration and because of the properties of the nanomachines in his body: the nanomachines recorded the properties of a tornado. Due to the nuclear materials of the nanomachines altering his genetic structure, Wind-Man also had the properties of a tornado physically incorporated into himself - specifically the strength of a tornado. This enhanced strength circulates throughout his limbs, especially his legs, allowing him to run faster and giving power to his kicks, flips, and agility.
