Born and raised on a small ranch in west Texas to a large Nordic family, Wolf grew up a typical small town country boy. That is healthy, involved in all kinds of physical activities of the area (hunting, fishing, riding, tracking) and bored out of his skull with small town America. After high school and two years of community college he saw an ad in a "Merc" magazine and joined up. Ending up in the Rogue Isles, he participated in a number of different actions, some of which turned his stomach. So, he quit. AWOL the only way to quit an outfit like that. The guilt of what he had done, what he participated in still haunts him today. In an attempt to atone for this he moved into law enforcement; however, shortly after this the family curse began to exhert itsef. Several generations earlier, 10th Century, the founding member of the Larsen family involved himself in the affairs of a powerful and evil warlock. At the time of his execution he placed a curse on the Larsen line. Because of his death at the moment of casting the curse it only affects one member of each third generation. They are forced to feel the rage and bloodlust of the warlock in an uncontrolled manner in the form of a beast. Now ostracized by his family as the "mark of the beast" is upon him, he was alone as never before. It was while struggling with this rage that Wolf lost his eye to a real wolf. A lobo monster in Michigan in a fight to the death with Wolf's beast form. This struggle reflected itself in his personal life and he moved from law enforcement to a hunter. Now recognized as one of the premier man hunters and trackers in the world. Although he worked with several individuals it was always as an outsider, unable to trust them or himself. Still a loner Wolfcry is his first attempt to connect with an organized group since. Hobbies, interests: movies especially old black and white monster movies i.e. Bela Lugosi as Dracula, Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolfman, Boris Karloff as the Mummy and the Frankenstein Monster. The wolf spirit that has manifested itself is actually Freki (Ravenous), one of Odin's two pet wolves. In partial manifestation this is the anthropomorphic wolf (think the original Wolfman) in full Freki is a Dire Wolf. The relationship is fluid with Wolf still being afraid of the the rage and bloodlust that could lead to Wolf killing the innocent. Although his personal code is "bring 'em back alive, its the only way to get paid", Wolf follows the no killing rule established by Vandellia the leader of Wolfcry Division but his past as a mercenary, law enforcement officer in west Texas and as a Texas Ranger and later as a professional bounty hunter that did not always hold true. He still has some reservations about this. He has always held to the idea that "y'all both should come back alive, but if'n only one of you, make sure its you." His admiration for Vanessa (Vandellia) Tremaine has led to his feelings about her being very much that of an older brother for a "younger and smarter sister." Other members of Wolfcry that have his admiration include former member Ghost Wake, Dego second in command, the Lady Lightblade and Ionic Man although conversations with the latter tend to lead to a lot of time with a dictionary. Light Rave and Shock Factory moved up in his estimation as they dealt with a major crisis in their lives with the kidnapping and torture of Kyle and the strengthening of their relationship despite it. One of the newest members of Wolfcry has drawn a lot of Wolf's attention, Volt Vigilante. Wolf sees a lot of himself in this hot headed teenager and a lot of potential.
IC trivia Valdyr is Old Norse for Wolf, the rest is sheer coincidence Currently a team leader with SDI Wolfcry Division
