Xarissa

OOCNotes: Xarissa has been one of my favorite brutes to play. Her accent can be a challenge sometimes, but I enjoy her forked tounge concept too much to let it go. She allows some of my darker urgers to vent as she is quite sinister.

Looks
Xarissa had once upon a time been one of the Snakes that you can find in Mercy Island. After her mutation she grew strong powerful legs to support her frame. Her long snake tail that had once trailed behind her, now only falls to about the back of her knees. She has scale-like skin that she is able to change the colors of at will. Her colors can range from her usual grey to blue, green, or red (so far). She has a long forked tounge that makes it difficult to speak around. Her 'S' letter becomes 'sss' instead. She has long purple hair that falls to the middle of her back and a scowl that she normally wears.
She also has developed a way to look more human. By caking on face foundation and wearing a business suit, Xarissa has attempted to be more pleasing to the human eye for business affairs. She isn't trying to mask what she is, as she allows her tail to still sweep freely out behind her, but found that the appearance of scales deters many of her possible clients.
Personality
Xarissa is one of my more sinister characters. She has a dark brooding personality and is willing to kill or devour anyone that gets in her way. She is proud of the fact that she can eat nearly any sized individual whole, and flaunts this fact in very dangerous ways. She has superhuman strength and uses this as a threatening tool for anyone who tries to stand up to her.
Xarissa is also very dedicated. If she sets her mind to a project or task, come hell or high water she will attempt to see it through. Because of this she spends countless hours in her lab, creating a wide variety of poisons. As a sidenote, her poisons are self produced through her own snake fangs depending on her diet. She has delved into a bit of chemistry to create a number of different effects that she loves to test on unsuspecting victims.
History
Xarissa, as mentioned above, once began as a Snake. She followed their lore and rituals as any other snake would, promising that one day they would rise above humans. Xariss had been on her own that day, investigating the different weakpoints of a nearby nuclear plant. Without feet, she would move by the sway and push of her powerful tail muscles. She had unknowingly come into some of the radioactive material the plant had been producing, which changed her life forever.
She had began to make her way back to Snake Den when she suddenly became naseous. As snakes cannot vomit, she collapsed in a fit of torment in which she eventually blacked out. She remained unconcious for nearly two days, remaining undisturbed and unbothered in the recluse location she had fallen. When she awoke she began to hiss and sneer wildly, thrashing about with all four of her limbs in a fit of rage.
She had become mutated. While she had fallen unconcious her body had begun to change. She sprouted two strong human legs which seemed to have come from her long tail. With this completed, it had left her tail a fraction of the length that it had once been. Additionally her head had mutated to show more humanistic features, complete with a nose and long hair.
Weakened and unaccustomed to her new body, Xarissa crawled to the nearest snake den enterance. She had just made her way inside when her cousin saw her. Not that it would have mattered that there was a blood relation, she had become a monster in their own eyes. She was forced back out into the world with hissing and sneering, calling her a freak.
Xarissa was found in this condition by a man named Jonas the Fist. He helped her in her weakened state to extract the revenge she so desired on her people for casting her out. The snake den she came from was wiped off the face of Mercy Island.
Rogue Island Distribution
Jonas had not stated that he wanted anything at first for helping Xarissa. She had been impressed that even with her new found strength, he was able to stand toe to toe with her.. even at 3 inches tall. He had avoided her every attempt to devour him and showed a level of intelligence she had not been accustomed to.
So when he asked if she would like to join into a smuggling operation, she agreed with one condition. That she be given a lab of her own to develop her poisons to a better potency.
