Bahram Reinhardt/Paragon Speaks!
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
From Bahram Reinhardt
Marked for mature as this is all about opinions and those are bound to get unfriendly or crude at times (Hell, some of Bahram's are outright nasty). This is interactive and open to others wanting to add their own two cents. There's some basic rules though.
1.Any opinions left must be made by a player-character. I have made some NPC quotes as examples but from this point on it's for actual heroes and villains.
2.The opinions left can be positive, negative or even slanderous (I'd encourage a mix of all three given the choice) so feel free to say what your character thinks. It is only if the comment is spammy that they will be removed (ie, random gibberish, advertising infamy farming, or just completely off-topic). If things go to plan these will be the only posts I will have to delete.
3.No matter how offensive or distasteful another's post may be, I ask that you do not edit any post other than your own. If there is an issue mention it as a discussion rather than starting e-drama. Apart from removing spammy posts the only editing I personally will do to another's post will be grammar-fixing and correcting spelling.
This is a bit of an experiment. Basically use some common sense and this can be fun for all. Be a tosser and we'll see how far that gets you......

PARAGON CITY ON BAHRAM'S HISTORY
“Bahram has no recorded history before he arrived in Paragon City. No citizenships, no licenses, not even a birth certificate. It was only after extensive psychological testing by ourselves and our contemporaries at MAGI that he was granted asylum and a Heroes' License within our city.” -Dr Daniel Niles, PPD Psych Dept.
“Bahram claims to have come from a monastic order, though he remains tight-lipped on any further details such as the role and purpose of said order. Our scrying into his form and essence has yielded nothing into why and how he can channel the paranormal energies he does through his shell. What we do believe though is that this power poses no passive or indirect threat to the citizens of Paragon City. So once he passed his psyche evaluations and the authorities accepted him we really had no reason to deny him his request for the Heroes' License.” - Malcolm Henning, MAGI instructor.
“I know little on Bahram personally, but it was only during the previous February when I was contacted by a higher-up in his order who wanted an interview. The proceedings of the interview have since been made public but for all that was answered many more questions remain such as what exactly is it about Bahram that his former brethren fear so?” - Ethan Wallace, freelance journalist.
“Over a period of two months Mr Reinhardt was assaulted by what appeared to be members of his organisation. These ended abruptly when Mr Wallace published his interview, most likely as they wanted to avoid garnering any further attention on themselves. Naturally if this fighting in the streets starts up again I'm hauling Reinhardt's ass in for questioning.” - Detective Sonny Ryler, PPD
“Who I am and who I was are remarkably different, and quite frankly I'd buy you a ring and book a chapel before I tell you any details.” - Bahram Reinhardt, registered Hero

PARAGON CITY ON BAHRAM'S PERSONALITY
“Bahram Reinhardt was initially what we could be called 'innocent.' He had (and to his credit, still possesses) a strong sense of right and wrong as well as a selfless drive to help those in need. The primary concern of the PPD during his initial psyche evaluations was how badly he would be effected by the harsher realities of life which as far as could be determined he had yet to experience. It was just earlier this year when he reached a breaking point, descending into a period of depression and self-destructive behaviour. Fortunately he seems to have come out of that to a degree, though he practices a hedonistic sexually active lifestyle. His virtuous nature still shows itself regardless, though it remains mostly hidden as he keeps this lustful barrier between himself and the real world.
What is of note is that he holds no prejudices based on gender, race, nationality, religion or sexuality. The only clique he genuinely speaks out against is the 'emo' crowd. Even then this hostility goes no further than verbal insults. One of the most commonly known instances of this behaviour was when he joined up with a team of heroes, the only two males other than himself having long permed fringes covering their faces. His response; "I'm sorry, I didn't realize this was a ladies' only team.” - Dr Daniel Niles, PPD Psych Dept.
'What is infuriating is his bold-faced refusal to cooperate with MAGI when it comes to sharing information on this 'Jaaen Ta-Issa' that he is a part of. If that interview being circulated is genuine then humanity stands to benefit from their studies. It is quite obvious that this secrecy adds to his 'mysterious' nature which is beneficial to his wooing of the female portion of the Midnight Squad. There is more to his defiance, we are sure, though it's either a case of lack of trust in MAGI or a lack of respect.” - Joanne Rice, MAGI operative.
“Bazza's a crazy man but in a good way, yanno what I'm saying? Dude's got a seriously off-beat sense of humour. By and large even when he sounds like he's being insulting he's got less aggro than Ghandi. Trust me brother, if he's insulting you for real than you must have done something big to piss him off.” - Isaac, Pocket D bartender.
“I could say plenty, but frankly you'd be doing yourself more of a favour to find out for yourself. I don't bite, well... ok, I love-bite, but that's a while away isn't it?” - Bahram Reinhardt, registered Hero

PARAGON CITY ON BAHRAM AS A HERO
“To call Bahram Reinhardt a professional in the field would be an utter lie. He is commonly crass, obnoxious and severely undiplomatic. All that does not impact on his effectiveness in dealing with volatile situations once all has been said and done. It is a good sign that he is rather less bloodthirsty than many heroes who rely on 'resisting arrest' to justify heedless killing on the beat. He will commonly incapacitate all but the most violent of offenders. If he uses lethal force then it'll be either due to the danger they pose or, as he claims at least, 'their essences are focused too strongly on destruction. I'd rather take them out then to hear they shotgunned a family of five only hours after getting out of the Zig.'
What does worry us is that his methodology is not based from ethics or duty to humanity and the city of Paragon but a philosophy which to date the details remain a mystery to most if not all. For the moment his views happen to coincide with ours; it's when they don't that the PPD will have no hesitation in revoking his Heroes' license.” - Dr Daniel Niles
“MAGI's primary concern with Dr Reinhardt comes down to his level of cooperation, or total and utter lack of. He has made his distaste for us well known, having described us as 'Idiot children who squeeze their eyes shut and hope that their Saturday morning cartoon heroes not only save the day for them but also make not-so-shitty action figures.' More shocking were his words to MAGI Investigator Richards; 'May your ears turn into arseholes and shit all over your shoulders.' Though it's never been explicitly stated all signs suggest that our spotty record for safekeeping powerful items of power is the reason for the hostility he directs towards our organization.
I will admit it's annoying that he seems to be perfectly cooperative with the Midnight Squad.” - Geoffrey Innes, MAGI Executive.
“Bazza? Yeah, I know 'im. Guy's got a mouth on 'im worse than me wife's. That don' mean I don' appreciate having 'im on the beat. The man don' bitch or whine an' he don' do no job half-assed. Capes like 'im are what's keepin' fellas like me able ta go home to our families at the end o' the day, know what I'm saying?” - Unknown PPD officer
“One thing I have noticed about his arrests is that a great deal of those brought here have been scared out of their minds by something. I can't say what exactly as I literally do not know. This sort of damage is normally seen in torture and trauma victims. I've already made a recommendation to the PPD to investigate this, but whether they do or not is anyone's guess.” - Christopher MaCaulay, Ziggursky Penitentiary warden.
“Nope, not gonna go into my reasons for getting into the cape business. That dives into my past and before you get up in arms, it no terrible secret or such, I just don't like telling you paparazzi types more than a smart man would... well, a smart man AND me. Anyway, I will say this much. What do I say MAGI stands for? Meandering Arse Grabber Initiative. Their mission? To one day find their own arses, even if they need both hands to do so.” - Bahram Reinhardt, registered Hero.

PARAGON CITY ON BAHRAM'S DOCTORATES
“It was in early 2007 when Bahram applied for and was accepted into Paragon City University. Following the Metahuman Aptitude Examinations (MAE) Bahram was found to be somewhat of a prodigy with biological sciences. Thanks to an anonymous benefactor who paid the additional fees, young Reinhardt was brought into the accelerated classes normally reserved for those with a genius I.Q. He excelled in his field and, to cut a long story short, he is now a licensed ob/gyn.
He has been slow to set up his practice but he does have the right mentality and methodology to make a successful, if unique, practitioner. Generally this is the form of positive action that the PPD encourages in the Hero populace; beneficial without causing any negative effects on other nor does it create an opportunity for criminals to benefit.
What is of interest is that Bahram's standard ineptitude with electronics does not apply when he is handling medical equipment. This is an indication that this disability of his is psychological in nature.” - Dr Daniel Niles, PPD Psych dept.
“This career choice could be what will ultimately save Bahram from himself. Doing good for others in a way that does not involve violence and anger. The only way MAGI could be happier about this would be if we knew who his 'benefactor' is.” - Julia Franklin, MAGI analyst.
“Bahram, while no prodigy, is a very bright young man. Possibly his largest hurdle when it comes to education is that he needs to be able to focus his attention properly. I have little doubt that he would have dropped out through boredom if he hadn't been accepted into the accelerated classes.” - Barnaby Ross, PCU councillor
“Bazza became an ob/gyn? Man, that figures. Dude was all about the ladies.” - Mark Hunt, PCU student
“An ob/gyn? Seriously? Like he doesn't spend enough time with his face in people's [CENSORED] already.” - Susan Newerth, PCU student
“Okay, this joke got old before this cheesecake I'm still trying to eat as you ask for these quotes. Think about it; what job could be more demoralizing for one with my... lifestyle? When I'm with a lady in my spare time, she needs to trust that I'll look after her and make her feel as gorgeous as she is. As a doctor, they need to trust that they are protected in a wholly different way. Who would go for even a check-up if their doctor acted like a letch? I would be a failure as a doctor, as a man and even as a human being to be so shameless. Particularly since there's no romance in 'Alright, Mrs Miggins, hop on the table and we'll see what's giving you grief.' Furthermore, have you even SEEN childbirth? I know for some it's a fetish, but not for this deviant. Then there's the infections; I still wonder why I don't suffer fears of vagina dentata.” - Bahram Reinhardt, registered ob/gyn

PARAGON CITY ON BAHRAM'S SEXUALITY
“When Bahram arrived in Paragon some doubted he even knew what sexual intercourse was. After whatever happened to him during the February of Two-Thousand and Eight, his bashful demeanour was drastically altered. Since then he has become known as a womanising hedonist, a reputation I am informed he does earn.
A common commentary by others is that this is a different Barham Reinhardt than the one who arrived in Paragon with just a swag and a smile. I humbly beg to differ; if anything he is still the same person mentally who is hiding this behind a smokescreen of debauchery. He cannot have his license revoked for this behaviour but a man so at odds with himself is a potential danger to all who rely on him.” -Dr Daniel Niles, PPD Psych Dept.
“Dr Reinhardt's vigilance on contraceptives is certainly appreciated. With so little information known about him it is nigh-impossible to predict what while occour if he breeds. Chances are though that it'll be one of those Midnight Squad tarts he knocks up when his condom breaks.” - Serena Watkins, MAGI Analyst.
“Bazza? Oh, sorry; 'Dr Reinhardt?' He still pays me visits from time to time. Platonic ones, mind you. In this line of work I hardly have time nor patience for relationships and the hassles they bring. As is human however I do still miss companionship from time to time. Bahram was a breath of fresh air; able to carry a deep discussion without being a bore and genuinely charming rather than relying on lies about the size of his penis to woo me. He was honest from the beginning on his intentions which suited me fine. We had that magical period of romance without the headaches and bickering which normally follows. Normally when the romance is dead and the bedroom liaisons are over his kind leave for fresher pastures, which again is fine with me. What makes Ba- 'Dr Reinhardt' different in this regard is that he is still a part of my life, and in a positive way. Just last week he called in to see me at my apartment because he had heard that I was overstressed. He got me laughing again long before he left again.
Mind you, considering how many of my female peers in the Squad have started to wear green and gold clothing I have no misconceptions that I am the sole inheritor of his affections.” - Unnamed Midnighter
“The man is slime! There is just no other way to put it. He came onto me so smoothly it should have been my first indication to his intentions but I fell for it. Fortunately he said very early on what he was wanting. Was I supposed to be flattered? He didn't even seem upset when I told him to go to Hell. Bahram Reinhardt? No thanks.” -Rita Tompkins, barrista
“Why do people keep accusing him of being a sex fiend? He and I never once were that intimate, though in my fragile state at the time he could have talked me into it easily. Instead he was so sweet and kind. He managed to break me free from my shell and, more impressively, he built up my confidence enough for me to ask Alan out. Do Bazza and I still talk? Alan and I have invited him for a drink this Thursday, so yes, yes we do.” - Wanda Simmons, PortalCorb accountant.
“If he doesn't grow up and be a man instead of a randy teenager then he's going to die alone and lonely.” - Det. Lisa Harrington, PPD
“Ah, now we're getting to the spicy stuff. What are you expecting? That I'll deny it or try to downplay it? I'll give it to you straight. I am not after sex alone, nor am I idiotic enough to get into a relationship again. I give the lady of my eye a feeling of romance and desire without the strings of arguments and such. I let them know from the get go so they are never used or lead along. Call me what you will but one thing I am not is a manipulative cad. Does the romance have to lead to sex? Of course not! There's just a chance for sex where there is romance, while if there is no romance I will guarantee I will not be after the sex.” - Bahram Reinhardt, registered hero

PARAGON CITY ON BAHRAM’S APPARITION FORM
"The first recorded instance of Bahram Reinhardt in what can only be described as a ghostly visage was on the 17th of July 2008 when he assaulted a Council firebase. I will defer to my contemporaries in MAGI on the details of this form so I will only discuss what is known by the PPD. His mentality remains unchanged for the most part. What is noteworthy is that his arrests to kills ratio, normally quite healthily in the former's favour, makes a sharp increase in the latter category." - Dr Daniel Niles, PPD Psych Dept.
"Bahram in this state is a serious concern to us. His appearance as a warped and ghoulish parody of a First World War soldier is not an element we can explain. We suspect that either it's a reflection of the high importance placed on war veterans in his native Australia or, possibly more likely, a call-back to a possible ancestor who fought in that terrible conflict. The nationality cannot be disclosed to his badly torn gear, all of which missing any form of chevron or other insignia and that in this form he is completely monochrome apart form the auras and his blood-stained talons. The mask's build would appear to be German though with the poor supply standards of that war this could have been looted from an enemy corpse. What it is that worries us is not only that he has claimed to be able to 'sniff' out anything with a living essence (including supernatural life and unlife), but that he also feels the urge to 'consume' extra-dimensional beings such as the Behemoths. It is anyone's guess what will happen if and when he gives into this temptation." - Tristran Rhodes, MAGI analyst
"I'm no danger to you mate, that's about all you need to know, alright? What's that? You really want to know more? I'll say this much then since you won't take a hint; it involves elves, Klingons and your mum. God she's such a whore." - Bahram Reinhardt, Registered Hero
