Origins of a Pirate Captain
Coming from an Earth where there was a great war, what we'd call World War 1, but no World War 2, her life was considerably different than most people on this dimensions Earth. She spent her life mostly in the airs, working at an early age for the government of the Protectorate of the Outer Banks which used to be Virginia, as well as parts of other ex-states. Learning how to fly practically before she could walk, and also how to fix up planes, by the time she was able to join the countries military (16 years old) she would already be a valuable asset; she'd be an ace pilot by the time she owned her own Zeppelin.
A Different Timeline
Amelia's home dimension didn't have the horrors of our World War Two. Sometime after the Great War ended, the United States passed prohibition laws throughout the states, but the federal government would not be able to stand up to the illegal organizations which would still sell alcohol. This lead to the states enforcing the laws themselves, seeing that they could work well without the help of the United States government, several states broke off from the Union. After a great battle with the United States, the Union would fall apart and all of the States would form new nations. The new borders made ground travel too dangerous, as ground travel could quickly take you into enemy territory so commerce, trade, and even travel became dependent upon the skies. This, would also lead to air piracy.
Different world, different technologies.
In some ways, this dimension is less, and more advanced. Having no nuclear weapons, there was never the threat of a nuclear war or nuclear power plant accidents. This Earth learned quickly that fossil fuels were not a bottomless well, and they ruined the environment, so cleaner energy sources were advanced. This led to steam powered engines and power plants far more advanced than anything from this world, except maybe the Nemesis. One of their steam power plants created far more energy than a fossile fuel power plant.
They never developed jet engines or heat seeking missiles, but they did have planes that could work just as well in the water as in the air. They also had missiles which could follow planes with the help of magnetism, even having turrets which could fire radio controlled missiles which could have their flight path altered by a remote operator at the turret or from someplace in the ship. The pinnacle of their air combat weapons though, would be generators which would fire lightning bolts at enemies, the plane model that would utilize these would be called Thors for the Norse God.
The Tortuga
Named for a famous pirate port from long ago, the pirate Zeppelin airship The Tortuga was bought by Amelia Dascomb. She wanted her own ship ever since she started her pirating career and so she worked hard and kept her eyes open for a big score. Now with her great crew in this strange new dimension, she's helping them work hard to improve their lifestyle.
Natural Abilities
Non-Combat
She's very good at singing, and a great mechanic, part of that making her great with explosives as well. Being a pirate she also had to learn a few skills, one of which was picking locks which she's practiced at a lot to become as close to a pro as she'll ever get.
Combat
She's spent several years fighting by using two swords, but soon after arriving here and seeing machines and creatures that barely felt anything her swords would give, she decided she would need an edge.
Paying a mage with gold coins, Amelia had him cast a spell on her which unlocked her full potential, using magic to make her a mutant. This unlocked mental powers which she would have had if she were born a mutant, letting her having control over fire and other energies which could even let her sap the strength and speed from others to make herself and her crew fight better.

CEP - 03
CEP - 03 or Nicolle, Nicky to Amelia, is Amelia's personal bodyguard and they soon grew close emotionally and physically. They began to date sometime after Nicky was hired, quickly becoming girlfriends, making the womanizing Amelia settle for only one woman. They're now engaged.
First Mate Tamika
Amelia's First Mate, obviously, Tamika started out by working as Amelia head of engineering. She's a genius when it comes to engineering, so when the position of a First Mate needed to be filled, it seemed only natural to Amelia to let Tamika fill that role. Amelia believes that great engineering is more important to a first mate, since Amelia can teach piloting and tactics far more quickly than how systems and machines run.
Engineer Crow
Crow is like a little brother to Amelia, just like Jon, and he's also one of the people that Amelia respects and trusts most. He's now fulfilling the duties of Head Engineer on The Tortuga.
Jonathan Deveri
Jon is an ace pilot on The Tortuga and he's like a little brother to Amelia and she'll often be joking around with him or teasing him. He pilots the plane, The Black Cat.
Lone Marionette/Mary
Known as Lone Marionette, Ironclad Marionette, or just Mary; she is like a daughter or little sister to Amelia, so she has had to protect Mary from those that would use or abuse the living marionette.
