The Netherworld

The Netherworld is an ancient plane of existance outside of our own. Far older then any recorded history of our world. It exists parallel to the "prime" dimension, otherwise known as Earth. But they two share many things in common. Like earth, the Netherworld is rather varied. Boasting mountains, forests, deserts, Artic tundras, and deep oceans. Another similarty is that the Netherworld is Equally populated by many different species. Be them intelligent and civilized, or animilistic. On the same note, not everything is the same. Some of the major differences between the Netherworld and the "prime" dimension is that the Netherworld is a singular world in and of its own plane. Meaning there are no other planets in the dimension of the Netherworld. Another difference is that where the "prime" operates on logic and physics, the Netherworld is a place based on magic and many of the ways thing's exist defy scientific explination. The most dramatic difference between Earth and the Netherworld, is that the Netherworld is not round. Infact it is rathed flat, the edges of the plane named the " Umbral gap" litteraly fall off into a endless nothingness below referred to only as " The Void."

Though there are countless species of animal like creatures, there are a number of highly civilized species which have created empires around the Netherworld. Among them are the Rotcaps, A race of cave dwelling fungus men. The Nether Fae, A massive empire of magical creatures. The Van'dal, a race of evlish people whom are dedicated, in almost cult like ways to guarding the Umbral Gap as well as The Void beyond it. Also a group of monsterous elemental creatures, which take on forms of fire and earth, water and air. They're known as the the Clyk'rn. As for the other inhabitents of the Netherworld, they are varied and for the most part what one might expect. Nightmarish beasts to the sense of humans. Hulking monsters with hundreds of eyes, slithering horrors with more teeth then one can count, and nameless, countless others.

The landscape of the Netherworld is widely varying. From the fire plains, where molten rock and ash drifts in endless flows of flame, to the frozen lands where snow eternally covers everything. Massive forests and jungles which seem alive and filled with malicious intent as well as high reaching mountains with treacherous crags.

The Nether Fae

Among all the intelligent and civilized races of the Netherworld, the Nether Fae hold the prestige of being the biggest and most powerfull of them. Resembeling dark reflections of what might be considered a common fairy, the Nether Fae are taller and slightly heavier. Usually coming in right around two feet and weighing somewhere between eight to fifteen pounds. While there skin color ranges, the more commons ones are purples and pale pinks. As well as reds, black and blues. Light colors such as white, are considered extremly rare among the Nether Fae. Being made up of fleshy exteriours and filled with a mass of shadow and magical flame known as " Faefire" even the most common Nether Fae is blessed with magic. Any citizen is adept in at least a few basic cantrips and spells. While the noble blooded Fae, Scholars and then ranking even higher, into the royal family itself posses far more potent magics. The King and Queen of the Nether Fae, the most pure and ancient bloodlines possess arcane abilitys which can harness catastrophic incantations and change the shape of great swaths of land.

Darkroot, Capital of the Nether Tree

Of all the ancient and glorious cities which dot the face of the Netherworld, Darkroot is the grandest. The city is quite litteraly carved and shaped from a tree, the sizeof which is has never existed in the Prime Dimension. It's base covering an area akin to the size of New York City and it's height great enough that even the greatest mountains of Earth pale it's comparrison. Refered to as the Capital of the Nether Tree, Darkroot is home not only to more then half of all the Nether Fae but also a variety of other races. Many creatures have settled in the lower districts of the tree, living among it's roots in the sprawling metropolis and always in the shadow of the towering empire.

The inner depths of the tree are often twisting mazes of dark streets, homes of millions of Nether Fae exist there, as well as the trade shops and econmy of the empire. The higher up the tree one travels the more glorious it becomes, the tree has been shaped into grand cathedrals and arcane schools, which exist among the monsterous leaves and brances so high above the ground. Higher still and the world of the noble Fae exists, where older, more powerfull bloodline of Nether Fae have lives in family homes for years long forgotten. Then, at the peak, where the tree seems to scrape the edge of eternity is a place known as "The Arcane Summit" The summit is the home to the palace of the Royal family. A grand castle known as "Duskseed" and home to the most ancient of Nether Fae bloodline.

The Most Ancient bloodline

The whole of the Nether Fae race is ruled by a Royal family. A king and queen of the Fae, the current whom have sat apon the thrones for hundreds of thousands of years. Using there wisdome and unrivaled power of the Arcane they have kept the peace of Darkroot for the past ages of the Netherworld. Unlike many other monarchs, where the king and queen often are replaced by they're offspring, the Nether Fae throne is ascened when the Heir to the throne casts down the current rulers. The fight which ensues is a Arcane battle which shakes the foundations of the Netherworld, The last such battle taking place a hundred thousand years ago, with the last prince of the Nether Fae failing to ursurper his Parents and being utterly destroyed. Fifty thousand years passed before the Queen bore another child. A daugther this time, whom as before they raised with care, aware that one day she may attempt there lives to take the throne.

The Princess of Darkroot

Princess Dizzy By Heba
As it turned out, the Princess whos name cannot be shaped by any langauge the "prime" possesses was born with Adeptness to the arcane which surpised even her Parents. She excelled with magic at such a rate and with such accomplishment that it was often a great source of pride and worry for her parents. As she grew though, it began to seem she was not interested at all in ruling the Nether Fae. The throne of Duskseed held no appeal to the Princess. Instead she found her ammusment with the magic of her people and with the exploration of the Netherworld. The princess came to be known by many titles, but the most common name which people bore her was " Sorceress of Darkroot" for many belived that not one other in the great city could challenge her prowess of the art.

As the princess grew and began to gain more and more of a following among the people of Darkroot and even among people of other races along the Netherworld, It became clear she did not need to sit apon a throne to have power and authority. People pledged there beings unto the princess, to serve her will if ever called apon. Her presence commanded respect, and awe from many and so it was that the princess became something of a secondary ruler of the Nether Fae, if simply by following. Enjoying the idea of having people pledge themselves to her, The princess began to collect her favored vassals. Be them powerfull, unqiue, perhaps beautiful, these chosen servants became know as " The Menagerie".

The Summoning

On the "prime" dimension, there exists a man known as Dr. Von'Dread. A vampire of great age whom had spent a great deal of his unlife dedicated to the study of things magical. At some point he acquired a relic, an artifact of unkown origin from the group know as " The Circle of Thorns". At first the relic seemed obviously filled with arcane power, but seemed to have no purpose. Dr Von'Dread studied it for a long time before anything was revealed. Then, by chance the relic's power was awakened, the magic flooded the lab which Von'Dread stuided in. The Relic's power lashed out and ripped through the Aether which seperated the planes. The resulting rip between the worlds lasted but a short time, but it was long enough. By happens chance and coincidence alone, The Princess of the Nether Fae was consumed in this rip and pulled through onto the Prime

Away from the Netherworld and cut off from the innate darkness which fuled her, the Princess found this new world frightening at first. Her magic lost much of its potency, though she still rivaled the mages of this world, it was nothing like her old ability. Taking the relic which brought her to this realm, she retreated into the storage areas of Von'Dread's base. Using her magic she unlocked the secrets of the artifact and using its power she pushed through the Aether once more. The focused intentional use of the relic tore a far more significant hole in the Aether. The Nether rushed in, it breathed life into the princess once more. With her powers fueled again by the Nether she cast a spell which held open the doorway way through the Aether.

With the bridge between the worlds open, the nether crawled out and over time began to swallow portions of the base. It twisted the prime dimension it touched and warped it. Over time this place, where the Prime and the Netherworld co-exist became known as the " Nether Gate". A place connected to both realms, where the Princess could harness her full power. With her power secured the princess took to exploring the world she had been granted entrance too. How wonderful, a sprawling place, nearly as big as the Netherworld, with all the variety and unique creatures that inhabited it. So many new pets and patrons to add to her Menagerie.

The Menagerie

Dizzy Collection of being and souls. Sworn or bound to her will is known as the Menagerie. Dizzy's collection seems eratic at times. She collects the entitys by varying standards. Magic, Beauty, strength, influence over others. Countless reasons exist for her claiming of specific members of the menagerie. This list is only the beings gathered from the prime dimension.

Didatch was an interesting case, A creature not of the Netherworld, but connected to it, perhaps by ancient long forgotten ancestral links. He came to Dizzy insearch of empowering, that he might regain the strength of old.

Mr. Vec is a unique addition the menagerie. A devil of the pits who Dizzy forced into her service with the aid of Didatch. After discovering the devilish mans true name he was forced to swear alliegance.
