Mr. Vec
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
"Global Warming is a serious problem."
-Mr. Vec in PvP
"What are you doing?"
"...Nothing, apparently."
-Dizzy and Vec, after their clash.
When a soul has left it's body, it ends up in one of two places, the Heavens, or the Abyss. In the Heavens, it enjoys an eternity of paradise, existing in a warm, loving atmosphere. In the Abyss, however, things are quite different. The soul can either drift around, eventually warping into some hideous demon spawn, or it can be snatched up by various demons or devils. Some of them use souls as currency, trading them for items of immense power. Of course, those who are living are hardly safe, as they have a tendency to want to actively sell them to devils and demons. A business popped up in the Abyss, and one of the leaders was a devil who calls himself Mr. Vec.

Personality
Mr. Vec is generally a very calm, composed person. A dangerous, chaotic situation barely phases him as he'll just fix it with in a controlled manner. This can disappear if individuals start to annoy him, but he never really becomes really truly angry.
In conversation, Vec is very polite, as one would expect from a businessman. He speaks with proper grammar, refusing to use slang unless he's quoting a prior event. He tends to use a lot of $5 words, and a response to a question also seems to end up as a paragraph. He's notorious for having almost no sense of humor, though other people's arguments tend to get a chuckle from him (earning him the nickname Chucklehead from one of his friends).
Mr. Vec is also very anti-anything that's not a devil. This means that, in essence, he's anti-the Rogue Isles. His sworn enemies are demons (something he says the Isle's are infested with), he views humans and Rikti as currency (though there are exceptions). Elves, other extraterrestrial creatures, and any celestials are just worthless to him, and he will go out of his way to subvert them if possible.
Despite his racism towards non-devils, Vec is also very loyal. If someone has proven their worth to him, he'll help them without any questions. However, this is a bit difficult to obtain, as he'll judge you almost instantly, and whoever tries has to work over his perceptions.
History
Mr. Vec was born in the Abyss after the union of a devil and a celestial. He has a twin, though Vec has proclaimed his death (and his mother confirmed it). Due to being a halfbreed, he didn't grow to the full height of his kind (a Pit Lord). This would have made him an easy target if his mother wasn't around to keep him alive. As he grew, he realized a valuable opportunity: Work for the Lords of the Abyss, and he can become immensely powerful. Not as powerful as them, but powerful enough to keep the various demons and devils off his back. He started his work early, at about the age of 100, and had been working at it ever since.
His work was going amazingly well, and he climbed to the top of the soul selling ladder before his was 900, a feat few devils have ever accomplished. Some say that the honesty his celestial half forces on him actually helped his business, but he refuses to accept that.
He would have become even more powerful, and perhaps become a minor Lord as well, had one particular transaction not occurred. A distraught woman with nothing left had found out how to contact Mr. Vec and had done so. Of course, as usual, he answered the summons happily. He showed up and she explained her sob story: Arachnos had killed her husband and kids, destroyed her home, and was working on her extended family. The rest of the details didn't matter, and Vec quickly accepted her soul in order to trade it for some power, basically turning her into a hero. As he brought it to the Abyss, he ran into one of the Lord, who agreed to complete the transaction. Vec trusted him, since he was a devil and all, and handed the soul over. However, he was then sent back with nothing at all, and the woman became quite infuriated. She found a way to get powers through an alternative source, and broke into the Abyss. Vec confronted and killed her, but his Lord deemed the whole situation to be Vec's fault and banished him to the Material plane, more specifically to the Rogue Isles.
He had sought a way back, and after a month or so had managed to gain the necessary amount of power to break through the barriers and return, but once again this was broken, and he was held in the Isles in a more permanent manner.
He now runs AzCorp along with Mr. Azael. He's taken to it fairly well, though he has no use for physical money. He's quickly become the face of AzCorp, which has brought along both rewards and problems. The rewards, of course, are that Vec is well known and holds a certain amount of power. The problem is that he's seen as an important figure and is targeted, as the Vegans had done when they threw him in their prison.
Abilities
Mr. Vec can manifest fire in many forms, two of them being meta-physical swords. He can also breathe fire and wreathe his hands in fire to burn his foes. Also, he can wrap his body in the same fire to absorb attacks, and use it defensively and to revive himself if the need arises.
He is also a fairly accomplished wizard, creating weapons out of seemingly nothing. He also creates a shield around himself that courses with power, protecting him from most attacks.
He's also a fairly decent diviner, though he doesn't rely on it too much. He can find a lot of things for the right price, and that price is almost always some number of souls.
Recently
Recently, Vec has been through a maelstrom of different ailments. From losing his abilities to being shapeshifted, Vec's normally calm life has been thrown into chaos numerous times. To list a few:
Vec was turned into a Fairy by Dizzy, and was bright pink and sparkly for a while.
He almost was killed by Didatch, which forced him into hiding while possessing a human to regain his powers.
He lost his powers while helping Xena with a problem in their ship, which caused him to be unable to shapeshift and leave him as his horrible blank slate form.
He was also imprisoned by the Vegans for the crimes of an Operative, which he's still a bit furious about.
Affiliations
Mr. Azael - Business partners and nothing more. Vec cannot stand angels, and Azael, being one of them, is the exact opposite of Vec. His loud, arrogant, and constantly pleased nature drives Vec up the wall.
Lil Panzer - The former CFO of AzCorp, they tolerate each other. They knew each other from a while back, but they only speak on occasion.
Tyrth - Tyrth tends to anger Vec. An arrogant, belligerent human, he tends to solve problems with obnoxious, loud violence. He is, however, a loyal and useful Operative, and that's kept Vec from killing him for now.
Skull Jester - How these two get along is beyond thought. Two completely opposite creatures, Vec being orderly and the Jester being chaotic, they manage to have a sort of friendship, if it's not inconvenient for the Jester and annoying for Vec.
Queen Xena- One of Vec's former romantic interests, Vec now keeps her at arms length and deals only in business with her. He always watches to make sure his past transgressions, if they can be called that, doesn't suddenly burst into an armed assault by the Vegans.
Didatch - They're semi-friends semi-enemies. Vec and Didatch tried to kill each other and Didatch always insults his intelligence, but they rely on each other on occasion.
Dizzy the banshee - Vec's new "master," more or less, Vec currently hates the fairy with a passion.
