Character History
The Shardstar Galaxy
In eons passed, it is said that an entity of such immense proportions, of such immense power wandered the universe. Lonely and sad, it wandered, it's energies growing in power, in strength, becoming hard to contain. Soon, the power could no long be held within the entity, and it exploded. The explosion sent billions of shards of the entity to scatter across the universe. After time passed, the shards were drawn back to their origin, orbiting it. Gasses and matter soon began to form around and into these shards, forming planets and stars of power. The entity was happy that it no longer had to travel alone, but still had that sadness.
On a planet near the entity, was birthed a creature of such magnificence, of such power. It had created a being that would give companionship during it's travels. The Shardoan were born. After millenia of evolution, the Shardoan had formed three distinct aspects of it's race. Each unique and powerful in their own right. But there was another being that existed within the galaxy, a being that the entity had forsaken, ignored and cast off. A being that thirsted for the power the Shardoans possessed. They hungered.
The Shardstar
The Shardstar is the entity that the galaxy is centered around. It is a being or creation of power so immense, so unique that no other like it is said to exist in the universe. It is made up of an organic, energized crystal so strong, that it can only be broken by itself. The Shardstar has within itself, two energies that coexist yet are at opposites of each other. The energies of darkness and the energies of flame. Each reacts to the cycle of time and thus, affect the Shardoans upon their homeworld.
The Shardoans worship the Shardstar as though it is a god, believing it a living entity. Some have called it myth, but a few know it to be true, having felt the will and direction of the Shardstar. They believe that it is a benevolant and loving god, one that wishes only solitude and protection from the outside.
Shardoan V
Shardoan V is a planet within the Shardstar Galaxy and formed about a shard of the Shardstar itself. The planet is covered in glowing, colorful crystals of organic origin. Each possessing energies that sustain the life on it's surface as well as shielding it from foreign objects outside it's atmosphere. It is said that the Shardoans were birthed of these crystals, taking on a form of flesh and soul and inheriting the powers of the Shardstar.
The planet is seperated into four hemispheres. Each possessing different qualities. The Crimsontide posses energies of the flame while the Ebonshard possess that of the dark energies. The Eclipsed Edges are positioned between Crimsontide and Ebonshard, and posses both energies. A fourth is known as the Shattered Wastes, and seperates at the center of Crimsontide and Ebonshard on the other side. It is considered a null zone, devoid of energy or power. Pools of water with crystaline like qualities dot the landscape, feeding and giving sustenance to those creatures upon the surface.
The Shardoans
- Darklings - The Darklings are born of the energies of darkness within the Shardstar. They are birthed during the night and possess qualities of the shadows. Their skin color ranges from ashen white to coal black. Their eyes glow a faint red and their hair usually ranges from white to black and sometimes red. The Darklings power is greatest during the night and under the cover of darkness, increasing in power tenfold. Their power also allows them perfect sigh by night, but during the day they are near blind.
- Charred - The Charred are born of the energies of flame within the Shardstar. They are birthed during the night and possess qualities of the flames. Their skin color ranges from pale pink to deep crimson red. Their eyes glow a faint gold and their hair usually ranges from black to red.The Charred's power is greatest during the day and in bright light, increasing in power tenfold. Their power allows them to see into the infrared spectrum, but are near blind at night.
- Eclipseborn - The Eclipseborn are the rare and holy of the Shardoan, being birthed only during an eclipse, which happens only every hundred years or so within the Shardstar Galaxy. Due to their time of birth, they possess both qualities of the Shardstar, and have control over both the dark and flame energies. Their skin color can range from ashen white to light peach, crimson red, or coal black. Their eyes change color depending on the day cycle, a golden-red during the day and a black-red at night. Their powers are never weakened, only one side is strengthened during the change of day. Their powers allow them the gift of perfect sight at both day and night.
The Hunger
The Hunger are beings that were born at the creation of the galaxy. But the Shardstar found them lacking in grace, power, or ability, being soulless phantasms of the explosion. due to the Shardstar's forsaking, they have tried desperately to inherit the Shardstar's power, but have failed every time. Thus they have come to hunger the energies the Shardoans possess. So the Hunger consume them flesh and soul, absorbing the energies inside. But the powers are temporary, for they cannot possess only one side, needing to be created of both. Therefore their true lust is for the Eclipseborn, as they have both energies, and could easily gain substance and power from their consumption.

Darkness Energies
- Shade - Can be enveloped in darkness, shrouding the area around her in darkness so thick, light cannot penetrate.
- Shadowmind - Can mask the presence of her mind from telepaths, making it impossible for them to detect, making her seem to not exist.
Flame Energies
- Torch - Can cast bright light off her body, illuminating the area round her in a warm glow.
- Firemind - When a telepath attempts to read, probe, ro communicate through the mind, they are met with a searing pain of flames.
Eclipseborn
- Eclipseburst - During an eclipse, her powers increase in power tenfold, but also become erratic and dangerous, and near impossible to control without super powered means.
Weaknesses and Limitations
The only true weakness of the Eclipseborn is the destruction of the Shardstar and it's fragments. Without it, their powers become nothing, and their bodies begin to break up into dust.
Ebon has a personal weakness that she is terrified of deep bodies of water.
Costume
Her current costume is that of what is common wear for her kind. Hers is specially designed to be fireproof and absorb heat.
