Description on Character

(( RP ))
After years of practice and winning many martial arts tournements, 'Kora Lee,' whom we have never heard of, has decided to register as a hero of the city. We shall see if this so called hero will actually be one.

Background

(( Please note, it is extremely difficult to learn the information given on this webpage. There are confidential government files, from a few different countries, about the woman known as Kora Lee.))

Kora Lee was born in Hong Kong soon after British rule was established. The date on an old birth certificate has 6 June 1912. The name given to her was Okelani Rimira Andrews. The names of her parents were Jonathan William Andrews and Shar Mary Andrews. Her father was an English businessman and her mother was a former dancer from South Africa. Both of her parents were Caucasian. It has not been confirmed, only believed that her parents died during World War I and the child was left to raise herself on the Hong Kong streets.

Early Life

Most of the orphans on the streets could not say her name. It is believed that she made it easier for others by saying her name is Kora. It could have been related to her torn sweater, which did have the initials O.R.A. The children could have added the ‘K’ sound, just to make it easier to say. Yet, most of the orphans did not understand written language.

With her ability to quickly understand languages, Kora was an asset to any street gang. She was able to read the signs and inform others about what was going on and where to be for any events. The gang that adopted her had very strict rules. Everyone would learn the strange martial arts style taught by the leader of the gang. The leader was a recruiter for a powerful criminal organization in Hong Kong. He was finding fighters for the games. He believed in training them young.

Even after 10 years of being in the gang, Kora appeared to be a six year old little girl. She realized that she didn’t age like everyone else. She was something different. It wasn’t something of concern to the gang leaders, who changed every few years. Several of the children did not eat enough and therefore they didn’t grow very fast. Since Kora enjoyed staying in the shadows, she wasn’t really noticed.

As the sparks of World War II started to warm up, others began to look for covert operatives. This young girl, who appeared to be about 10 years old, was perfect. She spoke like an adult, because she was nearly 30 years old. She understood any language present to her. She knew how to defend herself. Most important of all, she took orders and carried them out.

Kora was trained by the Japanese military. At first, they had her do simple spying missions. As her success rate went up, she was given more complex missions. Besides the missions, she had started her training as an assassin. Japan had high hopes for the little girl.

This report does not go into the horrors this child saw while growing up on the streets of Hong Kong. An Empath/Mind Reader was ordered to explore the child’s mind. The desire was to find something to use to make the child more obedient. The Reader wrote in his report that the child’s mind was easy to read, but the horrors within are something he never wanted to see again. He wrote, “You can not make the child afraid of something. She is living in constant fear. The fear is her driving force. She could stand before one of the most horrifying or dangerous things and appear to be fearless. Showing her that life without fear is possible would cause unexpected results.”

Shortly after World War II

The Soviet Union had captured the child spy shortly after the war. They had acquired some of the Japanese documents and wanted to use this child spy. Her assignments were in European countries. The Soviets did not realize her slow aging process as she started to appear to be around 12 years old during their control of the subject. She was actually around 40 years old, extremely gifted with languages, and, she knew how to defend herself.

At this point of her life, there are no confirmed murders by her. Yet, she did kill several people in self-defending. It was difficult for any of her handlers to accept that this teenage girl was capable of killing someone. Handers were often changed as they could not give her the missions assigned.

An unconfirmed report describes a luggage bomb, which exploded as the plane was on the runway, was from a child passenger of a different flight. The child passenger was Kora Lee. The report claimed that the flight she was on was the target, but her luggage was ‘accidently’ loaded onto the wrong airplane. The official report had nothing of this information. The unconfirmed report claimed that the officials thought it was more likely that the tags were switched than a child’s luggage contains a bomb in it. Since that incident, all luggage has been search, regardless of who is the owner.

The Soviet Union used the subject as a spy until the end. Her missions were expanded to include eliminating targets. By the fall of the U.S.S.R., she appeared to be in her early twenties. With the cloud of confusing records as the government changed, Kora acquired records that made her age the same as her appearance. She left for Hong Kong.

Recent Background

During the 1990’s, Kora lived in Hong Kong. She was a hired assassin. Her jobs were very random. She did the job for the pay. When China took back control of Hong Kong, Kora disappeared. The Chinese government had been tracking her movements for many years, even before she was in Hong Kong.

Reports claim she was in a political Chinese prison. Life was not easy for her. The Chinese had determined that she did not age like a normal person, but was still appeared to be a normal human being. For 10 years, the Chinese did extensive research on her DNA to determine why she is not aging like other humans. It was determined that she is normal and her body is doing what it should be doing.

The records are not clear how Kora was released from the prison. If she had escaped, the Chinese government has not allocated any resources to recover her. Tracking her movements was difficult. It seemed she had traveled around the world, several times. She didn’t stay still.

Paragon City

Once Kora arrived in Paragon City, she had made inquiries into her type of work. The offer from John Starkweather must have been the best, as she has joined the organization. The skills are far greater in Paragon City than most other locations in the world. Heroes have powers to defend the world from the Rikti invasion. Her assassination skills may not come into play, until she has powers equal to the heroes and other villains of the city. As for now, she is an information gatherer.

Kora understands languages. After being exposed to any language, she will start to understand it. Collecting information through listening or interrogation are also skills in her inventory. She is very familiar in ways of killing someone. For anyone reading her mind, they would find it full of horrors and dangers. Fishing out information is completely possible, but would be a very terrifying experience. Her mind is not a nice place to go.

Kora’s Life in Paragon City

Issue #1

6 June 2012 to 30 June 2012

Shortly after coming to Paragon City, Kora joined John Starkweather's organization, Villains of Paragon City and started covert operations for the Commander. She took part in the attack against Jagged Edge's space station supergroup base. The attack was her actually first time working with Villains of Paragon City.

Issue #2

The month begins with VoPC placing a corrupt program into the Jagged Edge mainframe. It was Kora’s job to place the program into the computer system. She was successful. Since the internet connection went down, it is unclear what happened inside the space station. Reports of a series of experiments by the corrupt program spoke of heroes fighting each other. If it wanted to see a real fight, Kora told the program to have Samuel Evans and her fight. Luckily for Kora, she was never given the chance. All of the members of VoPC and Jagged Edge had a lot of systems to repair on their space station.

Kora seemed to have a fancy for the young John Starkweather, who appeared in Pocket-D near the end of June or beginning of July. One of the members of Jagged Edge, an intern, FiFi?, was trying to seduce the young Mr. Starkweather. It was felt by many that it would corrupt the current timeline if something like that happened. It appeared that Kora had no fear, or desired to have that fear, of the timeline being changed. She was last seen leaving Pocket-D with the young John Starkweather.

Her reasons for pursuing the young Mr. Starkweather could have been inspired by a conversation she had with Samuel Evans, the leader of Jagged Edge. Evans had explained something about the lives of the people we know being more valuable than the ones we didn’t know. In other words, Evans did not want to kill the young Arbiter Death for fear of changing history. This fear did not stop Kora Lee.

Early Monday morning, 2 July 2012, Kora was seen leaving a hotel in Talos Island. For a profession, who always keeps her emotions in check, she looked very distraught. By Monday evening, a report confirmed that she was pregnant. For the day, she was last seen heading to Portal Corps. It is believed that she went off world.

Kora was more than ‘off world.’ By Friday morning, 6 July 2012, it was confirmed that Kora had lived at least 38 years on some other world, believed to be G-10293. With the time stream flux, it made it possible for her to be there for so many years and only hours pass here. It has also been confirmed that she returned with her two children Ryan and Claire Starkweather.

For Kora, it was very difficult to be back in her home world. She focused upon improving her skills and gained access to the legendary Well of the Furies. Her thought were upon her children and she found no desire to go back to G-10293, even if they wanted to return there. Even after raising his children, Kora did not feel 'love' for John Starkweather. She had sex with the young Starkweather. She didn't fall for him. She was looking for the chance to change the world. Now, she wonders how did she change the world.

Ms. Lee found that she does love John Starkweather as the father of her children, but she does not desire a relationship with him. During her many years on G-10293, she had time to change. She lived in so much fear. Fear was in her and drove her. Now, she has little fear. It was mostly replaced with the love of her children. John Starkweather made this possible. He made her love her children before they were born. She seriously thought about aborting the children, but found it to be impossible. She loved them too much. The change in herself and her children is why Kora Lee follows John Starkweather without question. She loves him as a leader, a friend, and the father of her children.

Character Notes

How Kora Lee is Played

(( Section stolen from Femme Fencer. Thanks. ))

Roleplay (RP): This character is played with strict role-play discipline. Messages done in emote or in not bracketed chat are coming from Kora. Messages done with out of character brackets ((OOC)) are coming from me, the player portraying Kora, usually to prevent misunderstandings or for matters of efficiency. I do this to maintain the suspension of disbelief for you and the others around me. Mistakes happen and sometimes we forget these little rules, but I try to follow them as much as possible when playing Kora.

Mature Roleplay (MRP): Think of Kora as a character in a film with at least a PG-13 rating and, in some cases, an R rating. She does some interesting things in the game, like spying on private conversations, fighting heroes, and have sexual encounters. Kora loves to be on the side and not in the main spot light. Even more than that, she loves languages. If you know a language that she does not, she will get to know you just to learn the language.

Erotic Roleplay (ERP): I don't play this game to ERP. That said, Kora has a life in the bedroom, just like any other adult. Bedroom scenes aren't off limits, but they have to happen naturally and in character. If your character feels like kissing her, kiss her. If your character feels like touching her, touch her. Depending on the context, one act might lead to another, and you might end up playing out a bedroom scene if she really likes you and wants to take it there. Just keep in mind that she has emotions, needs, standards, and all the other things any woman feels before letting herself go. But here are a few rules. If you feel you have to know more about the player who plays Kora before doing it, do it with another character. If you feel you have to know more about the player who plays Kora after doing it, you'll get put on /ignore. I don't do OOC fantasies. I don't want to know if you get off on ERP. I look at it as a literary exercise and a character study, like writing a bedroom scene for a soap opera or a romance novel.

Text Fight Roleplay: This character will text fight with you, using chat descriptions to indicate attacks and counters. When text fighting, I take the following factors into account to determine responses (from least important to most important):
-Realism (it's important for the suspension of disbelief, but we've all got superpowers, so we can have a lot of tolerance here)
-Powers (what your character has to throw or defend (In game and character powers ))
-Levels (how experienced or powerful the characters are)
-Descriptive Flair (how artistic is the attack)
-Drama (the fight has to be interesting to the peanut gallery, which means it shouldn't end on the first few attacks)
-Fairness (you can't expect the same character or team to win each and every time the two square off)
-Numbers (being outnumbered three to one is an advantage that can't be ignored)
-Fun (the goal of text fight should be to give your opponents reasons to text fight in the future, not to disuade them from text fighting in the future)

Quotes About Kora Lee

A place for in-character (IC) contributions on or about Kora Lee

Ms. Lee is a mystery to everyone. Little is known about how she got here or why she does the things she does. One thing is for certain though, she's a lot more than she seems. Lose track of her, and you'll never find her. If you think she's one place, chances are she'll be in another. She's so good at secret operations, that if you order her to blow up a ship, you'll be reading about it in yesterday's news. -- Femme Fencer
