What is Nova Watch?
Nova Watch is a general-purpose group of elite heroes of all types and abilities that works under the auspices of the Nova Institute, a research outfit that specializes in magic and magical artifacts. Nova Watch was founded by Darkestrike (Samuel Temple), a licensed Hero of the City, and Domina Pyra has responsibility for day-to-day leadership.
Do members of Nova Watch need to have magically-based powers?
No. In fact, the goal is to assemble as diverse a group of heroes as possible, given the wide assortment of threats that society faces. Heroes whose powers come from mutations, technology, science, natural ability or other means are all welcome to apply. (( OOC: All origins and all archetypes are accepted. ))
Where is Nova Watch based?
A dedicated facility for Nova Watch is under construction. The Nova Institute is headquartered in Founder’s Falls in Paragon City, R.I., although its storage facilities are not all necessarily located on-site.
What is the Nova Institute?
The Nova Institute began in 2005 as a small research institute devoted to the study of magic, as well as the storage and protection of magical artifacts. It is now expanding its operations to finance and support a group of elite heroes, more commonly referred to as a Supergroup.
Darkestrike, a Hero of the City who is also known as Samuel Temple, created the privately-held research institute.
Why has the Nova Institute created a Supergroup?
Recognizing the greatly varied threats to Paragon City and to society in general, the Nova Institute is branching out into broad-based hero operations, using its considerable resources to support a team of elite heroes with a broad range of powers and abilities.
What is the Nova Institute's relationship with MAGI?
The Nova Institute is not officially connected with MAGI, and works separately from that city-funded group. The Nova Institute believes that an independent, private organization, supported by a group of dedicated heroes, is well-suited to respond quickly to any crisis.
