Friends and Associates

Allies

Akarist - Renegade Circle of Thorns Mage and someone Rena has grown quite attached to. He owes her a debt of gratitude after she saved his life twice, and has already helped her put her parents behind bars for good. They have tea on Tuesday Afternoons.

The Midnighter's Club - A member through her parents, (Her real parents were members, she was half raised in the club), Rena has access to a good portion of the Midnighter's Libraries and Magic Item Vaults. She makes full use of her access to the libraries when searching for reading materials, or ancient tomes that may be needed...

The Dawn Academy - Rena's current home, where she lives with her adoptive mother. It was founded by a close friend. A school geared towards helping those who need it as well as training and assisting healers of all sorts. Rena has been living there since her parents' plans were revealed, and greatly enjoys it.

Enemies

Circle of Thorns - A literal thorn in the side of many magic users. The Circle are the ones directly responsible for multiple attempts on Rena's life. Promised her body by her parents, in exchange for power, the cult tried many times to capture the girl. They were stopped by Akarist and a group of Rena's friends and allies, but Rena still sees them as a constant threat.

Jonathan and Angela Cross - Rena's biological parents, powerful archmages in their own right, and greedy for more. After ignoring and neglecting Rena for a good portion of her young life, they finally showed their true colors, offering up Rena's body and soul to the Circle of Thorns for immense power. The attempt was stopped thanks to intervention by Rena herself, as well as others.

Personal Information

Physical Appearance

With soft brown hair and very clearly blue eyes, Rena is a rather cute girl for her age. She's a bit short for her age, with a slender build that's just barely starting to develop. She has a great fondness for the color blue, and it is rare to see her in anything that doesn't have at least a slight blue accent. Her outfits themselves tend to vary, though they always consist of a skirt or a full dress, as she dislikes pants rather heavily.

Personality

Rena has matured greatly since ending up at the Dawn Academy. Once a super-cheery bundle of optimism and light with naive, childish hopes of saving anyone she met, she now knows how the 'real world' works, despite how harsh of a lesson it took for her to learn this.

Still, however, Rena remains bright and cheery. She still maintains her optimism and cheer, but with a far more realistic outlook on life. No longer is she adamantly opposed to the taking of life, certain events having taught her that, sometimes, it needs to be done. She's learned she can't help everyone, no matter how much she may want to, as well as the value and transience of human life as a whole. Her desire to help has not left her, she now simply understands that she isn't always the best answer. She still has a very long fuse, and so far, only one person has managed to *truly* make her angry.

She remains, however, a cheerful, outgoing young girl that most people can't help but like. She's friendly and cheerful to her friends, absolutely loyal to those she cares about, and quite a terror to her foes.

Attitudes

Opinions and Quotes

Circle of Thorns - Terrible soul-stealers who pervert magic to their own sick uses. Except Akarist, who's the only exception to that, he's a great conversationalist and makes very good tea.

Banished Paetheon - Necromancy is wrong and shouldn't be practiced. The dead should be allowed to rest if their spirits do not wish to return.

Demons - Terrible things which must be purged and/or banished. They are pure evil and deserve no mercy in combat. (Except Corrine)

Rikti - They are humans, not terrible monsters, and should be treated as such. The Traditionalists are a nice bunch, and peace should be made with them as soon as possible.

Her Real Parents - Terrible people. She is quite happy to be rid of them for good.

Powers, Abilities and Skills

Powers and Abilities

Intrinsic

Offensive: Rena's primary offensive spell is a concussive blast of focused light, which she easily channels in three different strengths. Among others are a cone-shaped torrent of shining energy, and her ability to charge her fists with mana and telekinesis for a powerful, if risky, melee strike. Her strongest offensive spell, though, is a powerful, radial blast of light and mana she refers to as 'Radiant Dream.'

Defensive: Currently undergoing training as a healer, a good majority of Rena's magical arsenal is defensive or supportive in nature. She has access to healing spells, a spell of protection, clarity, and vigour, as well as a simple self-sheild that can easily be overloaded for increased protection, though it leaves her exausted after.

Borrowed: Due to her recent work in the Isles as an undercover agent, Rena has gained the ability to call upon Karen's skill with ice to protect herself. Though she's nowhere near as strong as her love, she's taken to it quite easily, as befitting of an archmage candidate.
