The Alpha and Omega

Back Home

"Man, those boots and gloves must really be needed for something." he thought. As Mark went about his daily routine of hunting in the area behind his home, he thought more about what Robert had said on the phone.

"Family ran him raw? Robert is too smart for that."

After his hunting, Mark grabbed his mail and settled in for a nice dinner at home. After sifting through a few unpaid bills, he noticed a letter from Crey Industries. Opening it hopeing it was the reply from his application, Mark was stunned when he read that Crey wanted him to help head a robitics division. Looking over the letter some more, he notices something on the news about the Paragon City police department trying to crack down on illeagal imports. Nothing made him chuckle more after hearing they can't track down the culprits. Going back to his letter, Mark looks and sees where he has to go. The next morning a package arrives from Crey. He opens it and find some spare metal parts with a note inside.

You don't know me, and I don't know you. But if your going to crey you'll need protection. I have left you some leftover parts from a clockwork.

"Clockwork? What in hell is a clockwork?"

Good thing Mark had plans for the robot design in his head. He even had enough parts to make a pulse rifle, and to make an upgrade to his hunting bow. Packing up his boat, he set off for Port Oakes. Finding a place here wasn't hard, though the roaming Arachnos patrols made him uneasy. After getting everything unpack, Mark fell asleep so he could get a good start before his interview at Crey.

Arrival at Port Oakes

Waking up, Mark made a difficult choice.

"I'm gonna cancel the interview, I'm gonna look for something less taxing."

Doing a few odd tasks for people around Port Oakes, Mark found the break he had been needing. He found a letter laying on the ground near some fallen Family. While reading the letter, it hit him. "Damn it, Robert! They are trying to rob you and our family out of the secret behind the moonshine."

After a few more meanial tasks from the evening paper, which oddly seemed to know where schemes were avalible, Mark decided to investigate further in Port Oakes. While in the port he became aquainted with an orginazation called The Deliverance Construct. Keeping his motives unknown for now, he decides to help them bring down Arachnos. Then he found a note on a unconsious Family boss gave him a lead.

To: Sebastian Frost

We would like to order a case of the moonshine for a secret project. You will be payed well. Contact me if you are interested.

Countess Crey

"Well looks like Crey Industries is involved with this too." he thought.

He then went to the Construct's secret location and asked to be placed in their Aggressive Solutions division. After a few grueling weeks of various tasks from the contruct and the local paper, he notices several Family members talking about what he thinks is a plot against his family. After roughing them up, he finds of a list of potential buyers for the formula.

"Hmmm, lets see what this list has on it."

Potential Buyers of the moonshine

"Well Crey is obvious as are the Mooks. But why would Longbow and Legacy Chain be interested. Unless they are trying to keep it away from the attention of Arachnos." he thought. After a bit of investigation he found a few plans for some special arrows to help him along in the Isles. After a few more days he ran across some more Family discussing the moonshine. While he knew this wasn't uncommon anymore, he decided to look into it.

Few weeks ago, after leaving the Construct, Mark decided it was best to hang low for a while.

Spider Intel

Tech. Note 8798-32

After a few run-ins with Arachnos, things finally started to calm down. Although the spider's interest in me has dissolved I still feel their pressure. Found some interesting plans involving the arachnobots. Seems they have more than just enforcement uses. Will have to get to that at another time.

End note.

Omega Factor

After arriving to his apartment, he started reading a letter from home dated 2 weeks ago.

Dear son,

You're presence is needed more at home. Father isn't well and well I'm just worried about you. Did you ever run across your brother? I am sure he is fine. Your room has been made and we await your arrival soon. Please call when you leave to come home.

Love Mom.

Last known note from Socket Wrench

Brother if your reading this, I've headed back home. Don't know when/if I'll be returning to the Isles. Please be careful of the Family, that ring runs deeper than what they are telling you. Mom sends her love. Dad isn't well she said. Well til you get home for a visit, this will be the last time I'll be able to reach you.

STATUS UPDATE on the Robots of Socket Wrench:

..... smoldering, unregconizable ash in a now defunct Crey tech lab. Only thing left uncharred was a Mace with the Black Scorpion's prints. Just as planned.

END Transmission........

Revival of "Scooter"

Place: A run-down corner office somewhere in Tennessee.

"SW Industries, How may I redirect your call?"

"One moment Ma'am."

"Sir, There is a Yasmine O'Dael on the phone requesting your attention. She says it's important." "Thank you, Abby" "Yes, Yasmine what is it this time?"

"Ahhh nice to hear your voice too, but you are still obligated to me."

"What do you mean I still have an obligation to you? I cleaned up your mess seven months ago. That Crey facility was the final part of our bargin"

"Not quite. Seems you left some pieces that the countess can trace back to my boss. I can't have that. Need I remind you of what happened to your ward?"

"Fine, give me time to review my notes from before and then I'll give you my answer. It may take some time though, seeing as my robots were destroyed." "Abby, I may have to return to the those wretched Isles."
