Touch, originally, started out as a morally indifferent, low-powered telepath who used what he had to get what he wanted. It turned out that I didn't like that character, all that much - but I liked the other half of his personality more and more as he and his partner got closer. Eventually, the old personality got supplanted completely, and the real Peter Malone took over, both as hero and as human being - and he started finding things out about his powers, and himself.

Affiliations

Peter was formerly an active member of the Campus Alliance of Preternatural and Exemplary Students, a student club at Paragon City University. Peter was also a Blessed of the Circle of Dawn, and continued to remain a reserve member of the Circle, despite his current status as persona non grata with the Dawn's diety. He is now a sworn member of the Circle of Twilight. She Of Faithful Desire is not amused.

Personality

Peter has been known to act somewhat chameleonic - he will roughen slightly around rough people, soften around the sensitive, and, at times, displays some amount of insight into the spirit, seeming inquisitive and gentle.

In his natural state, though, Peter tends to be shy and retiring, embarrasses easily despite his confidence, and display a certain amount of genuine empathy. He tends to be curious and helpful, on his best days, flustering easily and befriending anyone that will let him. His openness tends to get him in trouble, at times, even with the best of intentions.

Powers

Peter's powers tend to stray toward mimicry - sensations and emotions he's had, the powers of others, and sometimes, even, wholly becoming another person. As his telepathy grows more powerful, he grows more capable of influencing the morale of a battle.

Morale Manipulation

Peter can, oftentimes, indirectly affect the battle in two ways - either by directly assaulting the morale of the enemy group (thereby bolstering his own), or by perceiving weaknesses in the enemy's fighting style, and using those to steal their strength to add to his own or his allies. He also uses these powers to directly influence the bodies of others - letting them push themselves farther without burning themselves out, moving with fearsome alacrity.

Psionics

Peter uses the sensations of various pleasant and unpleasant things to stop enemies in their tracks. He sometimes has been known to use an illusion of his closest friends' signature powers to throw his enemies off balance in that respect.

He is also a telekinetic, currently capable of cleanly lifting 750 lbs of material.

Illusion and Impossibility

Peter believes he can, eventually, assume the entire being of another person. In theory, this would allow him to use the powers of the person he is mimicking, along with allow some limited access into their memories. Of course, it could have other, less pleasant effects...

Abilities

While Peter holds a black belt in Aikido and has taken his Scrapper recertification exam, he lacks the strength, agility, or experience to actually use this training in the field. Beyond this, Peter has a wide knowledge of history, with a certain emphasis on the Three Kingdoms era of ancient China.

Quarterstaff Combat

Educated in the art of spearfighting by Template:Dalantia himself, Peter recertified as a Tanker-designate hero. While operating in this capacity, Peter adapts the spearfighting skills taught him by the dragon of the Dawn to use a simple straight staff instead of a spear. This style emphasizes evasion over simply endurance, leading Peter to display preternatural and exemplary evasion skills while practicing this form of combat.

Weaknesses and Limitations

Peter's powers are all illusions. Anyone who successfully disbelieves them cannot be affected - be it by his offensive powers, or his defensive ones. (Hidden drawback - they also can't affect him.) Getting hit with a stick still hurts, though, because the stick is real whether they like it or not.

The Deathfog (as he calls it) of Dark Astoria seems to have a strange effect on him, making him appear staticky and unreal, like a TV with no reception. When he speaks under this effect, his voice cuts in and out of reality. His powers are non-functional in this environment, as well..

Equipment

The two items Peter carries are both gifts from a friend.

The refurbished Nemesis Staff he carries is the second prototype Seth Peterson put together after taking down a False Nemesis. When Peter came back to Paragon, Seth gave it to him as a gift to commemorate his return.

The Daybreak Cleaver is a standard-issue backup weapon to all Dawnites. While it is a relatively fearsome weapon in its own right, it also possesses the ability to do fearsome amounts of damage to the magically animated dead, in keeping with the Dawn's general opposition to the undead.

Trivia

Peter's eye color changes, from time to time, when severely stressed or at an emotional extreme.

Peter possesses a fairly massive collection of DVDs, of all stripe and genre. Action seems to be his favorite, despite his occasional squeamishness.

Peter also possesses a significant collection of PS2 games. Notable selections: every single Dynasty Warriors game ever made, Indigo Prophecy, Devil May Cry 3 ("It's Seth's! I swear!" He lies.), Valkyrie Profile 2, Dynasty Tactics 2, both Kingdom Hearts games. Also many others.
