And now we come to the Black Sheep of the De'Havaland Saga. Iscariot was rolled as a character designed to be hated. He's a truly evil character to the core and in the author's opinion, the more people that want to see him dead the better.

Affiliations

Iscariot's only affiliation is to the Arachnos, serving dutifully as Ghost Widow's Envoy as well as a position in the Alpha Sanction. Any other group that attempts to recruit him is heavily scrutinized and often shrugged of as, as he puts it "a conglomeration of worthless meat-sacks scrounging for scraps off Recluse's table".

Personality

Once a noble, yet slightly introverted character, Marco's mind began to descend into the hideous wreck that it is through the cut-throat nature of the Zig and the vicious culture that breeds there. Forced to become a resolute killing machine, he has become an arrogant, self-centered and viciously cunning character.

He maintains few loyalties, treating most simply as tools to be exploited rather than honest people. More so than anything else, Marco craves power and will go to any such length to get it.

Powers

Immortality

Through his bargain struck with Ghost Widow, Iscariot has achieved a state where he will never die, no longer aging beyond that of his forties. On top of that, his lymphatic cancer has also vanished, removing his weakness and bringing strength to his previously ailing frame. However not all is as it seems...

The Deathshimmer

Iscariot's only power is that of the 'Deathshimmer'. Little is known of this ability of his however to those who hold sway over him, the information is far easier to come by...and far more disturbing than imagined.

The Deathshimmer is in fact Marco wreathing himself in his own sickly evil, blotting his presence from his enemy's mind and allowing him to strike without warning. Often enemies do not see him until it is far too late.

Truth Behind the Deathshimmer

Unknown to Marco is the true workings of the Deathshimmer. The truth is that his ability to seemingly vanish into thin air stems from the fact that he has absolutely no soul. The well of emptiness that remains has soaked up his malice and is now the primary source of his 'power'. There are also speculations that he may be able to funnel this evil into other techniques, however this has not been confirmed as yet.

Damned

The truth behind Marco's immortality, as well as his seemingly inexhaustible endurance and shadowy abilities comes from the fact that, despite his efforts to save himself from the grave, Marco is already dead. Ghost Widow's idea of 'curing' him was to let the malignant cancer that had riddled his body take full hold and end his life. This also allowed her to take and consume his soul.

For now he serves vigilantly at her side totally unaware that despite his best efforts, he is damned to walk among the living as a dead man...

Equipment

Impervium Katana

A relic of his earlier days as the Shadowstormm, Marco's Katana is constructed of solid impervium attached to a carbon-fiber hilt and light weight 'tsuba' or hand guard. In his capable hands it its not so much a weapon as it is a force of nature.

Arachnos Pattern Stealth Suit

Serving as the Envoy to Ghost Widow requires a special kind of presence and while part of that is down to the individual, a lot is also attributed to the first image of the character in question. With this in mind, Black Iscariot's stealth suit is designed to increase his anonymity as well as bring to bear a truly threatening image that appropriately represents the Arachnos ideal.

Like many stealth suits, it is light, hard wearing and utterly silent. the soles of the suit are padded to muffle his footsteps and the entire system monitors and feeds ambient light data into his high tech bi-focals.

The Bi-Focals themselves are a complex, multi-view mode heads up display system that ensures that like the ever watchful eyes of Recluse, no-one escapes this man's gaze.

Other Equipment

As well as his weapon and suit, Marco carries a collection of combative stimulants (more often than not a Cortisol/Adrenalin mix in varying doses), styptics, painkillers and various other chemical inducers to better do his job. On top of that he also maintains a series of covert operations devices designed to get him in and out of any building without being detected.
