About ME

I don't talk about me, the player. Not in-depth, anyhow.

I suffer from serious bouts of alt-itis, and have probably created/deleted more characters than I should have. This is the reason why (until recently) I have generally not had any characters of considerable level.

Don't ask about the user name. While the first part relates to J. ROUlette, the below hero, the rest is only known to my twisted, easily amused mind.

It's also not my global handle. You'll have to get to know me in-game before I'll accept any global requests.

I use /ghide in-game sometimes when I'm working on test characters, concepts, or just plain want to do something in peace. Please don't be offended if you DO see one of my characters that you are familiar with, but don't see me on your global list.

HEROES

Most of my characters on Virtue are Heroes. Here's a few of them:

JAN ROULETTE

Jan Roulette was originally meant to be the first character I would seriously develop a VV page for, as she originally was to be my "main" character on Virtue. While that ended up NOT being the case (in the long run, I ended up using Mari Doll for that), Jan as a character is important due to her being one of my first fully fleshed out concepts.

I fully blame Call of Cthulhu for the original idea regarding Jan.

Designed to be a very serious person, Jan would carry the so-called curse of "May you live in interesting times" that seems to haunt certain heroes. She was intentionally written to be a grim, pessimistic, sarcastic, scarred (physically and emotionally) hero that would face her eventual horrible demise with gun blazing and various swear words on her lips.

Essentially, she is a normal person who has suffered extreme and horrible things that while "gifting" her with certain abilities, has ensured that she will one day meet a terrible end at the hands of unspeakable things. Typical CoC fare.

Unfortunately, somewhere along the way both my interest and desire stalled with developing her, resulting in several deletes and remakes, as well as overall lack of interest in seriously leveling her.

Besides, she's always been a Assault Rifle/*, which I seem to struggle with leveling in more than very short bursts. Which will probably relegate Jan to the ranks of lowbie alt forever.

I considered creating Jan as a villain at some point, but the idea went nowhere, so I left it at that.

MARI DOLL

Mari Doll was created specifically to be a "fun" and generally happy hero.

I wanted Mari to be a naive character that lacked many of the usual social graces and would often seem to be disconnected from the usual expected reactions to situations. I also wanted Mari to be something other than your typical human. Mari was originally going to be a android/robot, but something did not sit well with me regarding that, and after more fiddling, I came up with the idea to have Mari be a puppet - or more specifically, a life-sized marionette.

Once that thought had settled into my mind, the rest of the details started to pour out onto the notes I was scribbling.

Since then, Mari has quickly bloomed into my favorite character. I definitely consider Mari my "main", and currently spend the most time in-game as this living doll.

I don't consider myself a great bio creator or writer in general, but I am VERY thankful for the compliments I have received by some. It has made the time I spent working up an outline of Mari's background on paper worth every minute of it.
