Americandy
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Candy Ellis is still a heroine in Paragon City, but over the years has undergone changes that have changed her structurally, for better and for worse. She is, fundamentally, the same individual that she was upon creation, but has become a ferocious and ruthless capitalist, somewhat lost in corporate America.

History
Birth, Early Childhood and School
The first child of Martin and Cathy Ellis, Candice “Candy” Nicole was born on August 4th, 1988 in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. A healthy and curious baby, Candy spent her days exploring the beach near her home, building sandcastles with her father, letting the tide come in around her tiny toes, and turning over seashells to examine the creatures within. When Candy was five, Martin and Cathy had a second child, Cameron. Candy adored her new brother, and had a very unique, peaceful relationship with him.
The family moved to Paragon City when she was twelve years old, and the young woman adapted quickly and cleanly. Candy attended Atlas Park High School, and was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She had solid ideals about good citizenship and hard work, and never seemed to have a problem with anyone she went to school with. She gave a winning speech her graduation night to thunderous applause and won enough scholarships to pay for college with room to spare.
College and Rikti Abduction
Candy's eighteenth birthday went by with a flash, and she'd just started to enjoy adulthood. Candy studied clothing design, getting a job working with an up and coming designer, David Craft. She'd started nightclubbing, finally meeting some of the heroes that she'd looked up to for years, and when college started, she balanced school and nightlife with admirable grace.
Returning home from one such party, Candy and her girlfriends were taken by surprise when the blue energy barriers that protected the city faltered and died, the sky turning sickly green. Candy was struck by an energy blast and knocked unconscious. Her body was teleported, and her friends scattered.
Candy was taken aboard an invasion mothership and was given a thorough examination by a Rikti medic. Deemed healthy, experimentation started immediately. Over the course of two days, Candy's brain was removed, and unknown actions were taken on her mind. After several hours, Candy “woke up” and saw herself, a corpse, frozen with liquid nitrogen. Her brain began to reject further treatment at the sight, and to prevent the death of the brain, the Rikti scientists revived her body and reinserted her brain, using alien technology to “reconnect” her nervous system.
Shortly after the surgery, the ship was taken by a hero called The Azure-Flare and a team of Longbow. Candy was recovered and brought to a hospital near her parents' home in Atlas Park. She awoke to the hero's face and recognized him at once as her boss, the designer David Craft.
Her head shaved and bandaged, Candy returned to classes only three days later, and stopped clubbing almost completely.
Newfound Abilities and Longbow Affiliation
Candy still cannot recall her abduction, and everything but a brief ghost of a memory has been lost somewhere in her mind. She knew from the moment she regained consciousness that something in her mind had changed, and with Flare's help, she slowly discovered her ability to control and bend the wills of the weak minded using her own cognitive power alone.
She began training under the Longbow, learning how to enhance and control her new skills. She took to the streets in 2007 wearing customary red and white, still maintaining work, school, and a social life.
Birth of Americandy
With patriotism in America at a low, Candy left the Longbow, added blue to her colors and established herself as Americandy, the All-American Girl on September 28th, 2008. She met Venin Hiss not long after she started out, and Hiss began to radically change the way Candy thought and acted.
Life Cry
Life Cry, Candy's villain persona, was born when Candy decided she wanted to get closer to Venin and other friends on the Isles. Soon, however, Life Cry became an embodiment of Candy's unstable mind. Hiding her face and body behind leather and metal, she tends to speak in a low growl. As Life Cry, she has several warrants out for her arrest in both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. It is not common knowledge that Life Cry and Americandy are the same individual.
Personality
Candy is friendly, if playfully sarcastic. She seems to get along better with men than women, finding other females to be catty and irritating. She's brash and loud, opinionated and bullheaded. She's often on her Blackberry, ordering materials for her business or arguing with a business partner over payment due.
Candy has had emotional trouble over the past two years that causes outbursts of barely-contained anger. It is a side-effect of psychic seepage, and tends to pass with a dramatic discharge of psychic energy. These outbursts often leave her ruffled, embarrassed and apologetic.
Friends and Associates
