Edit from 2019: I wrote this page when I was a wee babby. I'd like to keep it up in its last state from 2012, nonetheless, for historical purposes. Please note that everything here is no longer indicative of the character or my own writing skills, however.

Background

Because why have the story clutter whole page?

((The above link leads to basically what Belabor's story was prior to being RP'd. Every thing below is basically what happened ever since I started RP'ing him which was when he joined the Eon Initiative in November 2011. Enjoy!))

History and Events

Upon arriving at the Rogue Isles, the man known as Belabor has already gone through countless hells (See Background for full details). He came hoping to bring justice, however, he was not mentally well and often ended up killing people for often very small reasons. This all changed, however, upon learning that Cyril, his mentor from his days as a hero, may of been still alive. Although under restraint by Arachnos. At that moment, his goal became clear. He had to be found and rescued. Belabor, although, needed a way for his rescue. He went to a mercenary group known as the Eon Initiative for help. He joined their ranks, and in return requested their help in rescuing Cyril. As mentioned before, however, Belabor was mentally unstable at the time and far more violent than the rest of the group. Even a vampire named Kilayox, or Key for short. She claimed to be merciless and savage in her times of feeding, yet Belabor was still seen to be the violent one. They looked down on him, and he was often seen as an occasional obstacle to success. That he didn't care of, however. He was not there to make friends, he was there to save Cyril.

Taste of Friendship

Belabor plagued the Isles as a well known killer and, using the term loosely, vigilante. When the day came he finally had to rescue Cyril, he stormed Grandville with his co-workers Key and Eso. What they found, however, was a weak and dying man. The idea of it filled Belabor's world with horror... the one last person he cared for in this world was on the brink of death. Belabor brought him to a hospital, and, when he did, he learned several things. He sat with the weak man in his hospital bed, and held his hand tightly. He spoke to him in-between coughs, never knowing when his day of death may come... but before he finally did, he let Belabor know how against he was of his ways. Ordinarily, this would set him over the edge... yet this time... it did not. Cyril begged Belabor to think back to his days of the past, and try to be as he was when he was a child. During those days, he cared for one thing more than anyone else. His friend Angie, his first friend and eventual fiancé, murdered by Belabor after an incident involving a Superadine addiction. He pledged to Cyril to be far less violent, and, as he laid dying, a smile spread over his face... he left this world a happy man...

Belabor, honoring his wish, chose to finally get closer to the Eon Initiative and embrace his new life as a mercenary. He pledged loyalty to his leader, Eon, and tried to become closer with more of the members... to move on from what he did to Angie... and create a bright future to what was a dark past. He spent more time with Key, and they soon became really close. Not dating, but like brother and sister. Although, Belabor did fall in love, with another girl named Jest. Belabor and Jest's relationship was built on mostly having fun and enjoying life. They drank, danced, and party'd, showing Belabor a life he previously not had known. The Eon Initiative was standing strong, and with Belabor's return to sanity after his talk with Cyril, he slowly became one of it's highest ranking members, and eventually even Co-Leader.

Key would later end up becoming one of Belabor's closest, most trusted friends. He knew he could tell her anything, and in return she'd tell him anything. The times they spent together were, and still are countless. Even in the darkest of all times, he chose to always stick by her side, sharing in her sadness and happiness. Once hearing of the hells her father put her through, there was something about taking him down that felt oh so good. And then witnessing her becoming her leading of her clan... there was no words to express how proud he was of his big sister that day. Truly, they have a friendship made of the hardest material that probably could never be broken, no matter what.

Then there was the ex-Carnie Jest. A short girl with pink hair, she was seen as more than eccentric by the group, which at first just made him laugh. However, then he heard the story of her little sister, Pip. He heard of all they've been through and how she struggled to give her a good life. That moment made Belabor think and remember back to his psychotic days... no matter how a person may seem, they also have a life and a family, along with loved ones. After that, he did what he could to comfort her, and when one thing led to another they ended up together. Perhaps, if everything would end up working out, they could of had something very special.

Good Men Never Die

For months, everything was going fine. Belabor helped Key and the rest of the Initiative for any problem that may come their way. That was, until one day in Pocket D, unbeknownst to Belabor, a being arrived claiming to be a messenger of Cyril. He demanded that Necrozen, a necromancer and significant other of Key, bring him back to life as a ghost. Upon his return, things started to change... all without Belabor's knowledge. What happened to the ghost? None can say. Although the reaction it had on the orphans was terrible...

Each orphan that was once under his care were having constant nightmares ever since his transformation. Belabor was no exception. They'd see their greatest sin, and relive constantly within their dreams, and have the dream each night until they found a way to correct it. Belabor's was what he did to Angie... he tried his best to try to move past it and be happy with Jest, but with these dreams, trying to move past it was impossible... he'd have the dream over and over and over... yet he refused to correct his action, knowing the only way would be to bring her back from the dead. He chose to let her rest, knowing that's what she'd want, even if it meant the dreams would plague him. When they finally became too much, he almost felt his insanity returning, and with Cyril now the literal living nightmare he now was, he was unable to give wisdom. On the contrary, he was almost the source of the problem. Belabor felt the grip of insanity returning... but rather than relive the cycle, he had a better idea, much to his best friend, Key's, dismay.

He chose to end it forever.

A New Start

Getting ready to kill himself and end this vicious cycle, Key walked in on him. The girl he called sister... the girl he cared so much for and was willing to die for, tried to stop him, tear-filled and sobbing. What Belabor was putting her through was torture and he knew this. However, knowing what he'd become once more if this cycle were to continue he'd knew it would of been much worse. He shot himself in the head, falling to the ground, handing her his last note saying, "Would you forgive your selfish brother?" She cried for a couple of moments, then deciding to bring him to a bed... and rather than let him die, she sunk her fangs into his neck.

He awoke later... not quite dead, but not quite alive... he was undead. A vampire. He saw his newly pale skin and fangs... but rather than be worried for himself, the only thing on his mind was Key, his dear sister. He had a tear filled reunion with her, and knew one thing for sure... never again would he let those that are close to him be harmed or, for any reason, be anything less than happy. Sadly, he got off to a less than great start. Jest was deeply hurt by the idea of his suicide, and it led to the eventual end of their relationship. As for Eon, he died for other reasons much later after going against the group. At that moment. Belabor was not a Co-Leader, but the leader of the group itself. He promised to start a new era for the Eon Initiative. He's been through enough pain already and lost enough loved ones... it was time for a fresh start. The group would act like one big family, and all together, they'd rise to success and care for each other as they would for themselves. This would be the path of the Eon Initiative, the supernatural haven for mercenaries.

Their first action would be to find allies. A man by the name of Kazimer arrived at their base on day, and told them of how they'd be useless without the help of his organization, VSTF. In exchange to act under their will from time to time, Kazimer promised weapons and other pleasantries, giving them a fresh start.

Still while seeking allies, Key apparently one day told Belabor that she met a girl named Carrie. The poor girl was covered in bleeding wounds, causing Belabor to occasionally need to cover his nose to avoid going into a bloodthirsty craze. Yet, the three of them soon became close, and as they'd eventually come to learn, Carrie worked for the Graziano Family who operated in Haven within Cap Au Diable, along with their partners, Minotaur Independent Research Facility, or MIRF. Both later became allies for the Eon Initiative. Belabor offered their services to the Donna of the Grazianos whenever it may be needed, and, it was occasionally. Her leadership and organization most likely makes the Grazianos and MIRF the Eon Initiative's most valuable ally. Of course, VSTF is great in it's own way, but then again Kazimer himself, rather than the group itself, would build tensions with Belabor for reasons to come.

Blood Pumping Heart

Belabor felt much sympathy for Carrie's condition. However, it was odd.. he felt far more sympathetic than he was expecting. She endlessly bled from her wounds, an he couldn't help but feel terrible. Seeing such a sweet girl under such pain was a terrible sight, so Belabor and Key did what they could to help her. Although, there was something about her that Belabor hasn't felt since he was with Jest. He never talked about it as much as he most likely should of, but losing Jest was already a horrible thought to bear, and at the time, was still quite recent. The idea of a relationship stuck in his mind, however, but he'd stick with being friends for the time. She'd always stay by their side, but what truly was a monumental moment between the two was the day Kazimer, the leader of VSTF, came to the bar in Pocket D for a drink while Belabor and Carrie were there. The two ended up joking around in the bar, although when it got too much, Kazimer tried to attack Carrie. Belabor, however, would sooner die than see that girl in pain for an instant. He knew it would be a terrible idea, but he fought Kazimer, and was later called to come to St. Martial where Kazimer than beat him an inch within his death. Key and Carrie than later found him, and did what they could to heal him. He was saved in time, and the three were together once more.

He was more than thankful, but kept trying to convince himself that the idea of a relationship was still out of the question. That was, until Key told Belabor that she had feelings for him and asked if he would feel the same way. A wide smile spread across the vampire's face, and he quickly agreed. During a game of Truth and Dare, however, fortune smiled upon the two when Belabor had to answer a "truth." Although the question was if he liked Carrie more than a friend. He smiled sheepishly for a second... and than embraced her in a long hug with a smile, almost as if to say "What do you think?". From that moment on, Belabor was finally in a relationship once again ever since he broke up with Jest. However, when Carrie finally went into detail of what exactly happened to cause the condition of bleeding wounds that plagued her so, Belabor made a promise to her... and that was to always see her happy, take care of her, give her space when she needs it, and see to it that he would be there for her, even if it would take a trillion years to convince her of that fact.

Although, the only problem was returning the favor... Belabor's past too was also riddled with misfortune, and hasn't shared it with anyone besides Key thus far. He's aware that telling Carrie would be hard... yet in the end, he was perfectly aware that he owed it to her, and knew that, along with Key, he couldn't trust anyone with his secrets more. When they finally did talk during a date between the two in Imperial City, he knew it wouldn't be a mistake... she was perfectly understanding, and willing to accept what he's done in the past. After the talk, they continued to spend the rest of the night together... he knew for a fact at this point Carrie was perfect... and hoped they'd have something that'll last several eternities.

Personality

Belabor is, more than anything else, very calm. The only time he could truly get angry is within a fight, and that's only if the fight is being taken very seriously. He's aware of how bad he had it, but you'd never see him complaining about it for a single moment. Rather he tries to live happily, yet one flaw could be that he worries too much at times. After losing so much, it gave him a minor paranoia of losing any more loved ones. Meaning, the ones he gets closest too only cause him to worry more. He's perfectly aware of how dangerous the world is, perhaps not to a degree of overdoing it, but it gave him a major fear of the death of any more friends. He vowed to himself he'd never see another friend in pain, and he'd forever stick to that promise. Overall, he is very caring, but at times can overdo it a small bit.

To those friends he strives to protect, he would gladly do anything for them. Which is quite a contrary to when he first arrived in the Isles, given that his personality shifted a lot since then. Perhaps the person who remembers his arrival best, Key, could most likely tell you better than anyone else. He wasn't exactly friendly, but after finding people he could grow close to, that slowly changed and he became a different person altogether. From that moment on, he was forever seen as "someone to hug when all seems bad." Despite this, he's often laid back. He can be serious when he needs to be, though, and will not hesitate for a moment to shift.

Thinking back, that's probably why Carrie would later end up calling him her "Bela-bear."

He's able to talk about most things, although others coming foreign to him, seeing as he wasn't exactly privileged after the death of his parents.

Abilities

Ever since he was a hero, Belabor used a shield. He doesn't always keep it with him, but if he were to ever know about a fight or job ahead of time, your best bet is that he'd have it. Although that and a long list of different street fighting styles was his original means of fighting, it's arguably slowly falling out of disfavor as his vampiric abilities develop. Which, at the present, is still developing, but at the present he has abilities over:

Telepathy

Perhaps not as great as any psychic or actual telepath, but he does have his own vampiric telepathy. Able to read minds on a minor scale, it's more a means when contacting someone when a phone or communications channel cannot be used.

Super Strength

Originally a very strong human, Belabor gained an overwhelming amount of strength upon his transformation into a vampire. With the ability to crush anything in his path and tear apart anything in a furious vampiric rage, he's always sure to leave a mark on his enemy and all those working for him. Because all the best mercenaries tear stuff apart with their bare hands.

Regeneration

To compliment the ability to tear anything apart, he's able to heal injuries at insane rates, very rarely ever needing actual medical assistance. Usually he'd tend to heal best while not in combat, seeing as the wounds heal best only when they're not being made worse, obviously. Meaning, the longer he'd stay in combat, the harder it'd be for him to heal. This isn't to say he won't heal -during- combat, but for Belabor it's far less likely.

Relations

This is where you hear how much Belabor hates or loves a person. While usually calm, there are people who seem to get on his bad side. Although he's quick to forgive, and protective to those he deems close to him. However, harm his friends, and he'll more than guarantee that you'll regret it. And the best way to do that is by a fine application of force.

IC Comments on Others

Bloody Carrie - "Comment on Carrie? Alright... just don't mock me if I get sappy, okay? Although, she's my love... the person who is a light in a dark tunnel. Beautiful, perfect, and absolutely wonderful. I know she's had a past filled with fear and pain, but like I've promised several times and most likely will again in the future, I will do whatever it may take to bring a smile to that flawless face of hers and ensure eternal happiness. I hope what we have lasts several eternities... I love her, and hope she'll always remember that if she ever needs anything I will always be willing to hold her tight and remind her that in the end, everything will be okay while at the same time give you the space she also desire's."

Kilayox - "Key, my closest sister. Our times together go back for what's almost a year now. I could only think back to that day I stumbled into the bar and we started to hangout after joining the Eon Initiative. If only I could relive that day once more, as it was one that formed a bond I know that I could never break. Although, some bonds are of course not meant to be broken. Key, we shared so much wisdom over such a short period, and I only hope that it could continue. I'll see to it that your wedding goes perfectly, dear sister, and always know that your big brother loves you."

Burana- "I met the girl through Key, and known her almost as long as I've known Key. I'd say the thing that made Burana great months back when the Eon Initiative was just starting out was she was the only one who ever liked to have fun. We drank together from time to time and shared thrilling, philosophical conversations about Isaac the Bartender."

Eso - "We hardly ever see him anymore, but he was a disturbing, albeit good friend."

Necrozen - "To be honest, I don't really know Zen too well. He's mostly only around when Key is, and usually just pops the hell outta nowhere sometimes. Although I like the guy, and seems like he'd make a fine husband for Key. Maybe we'll have some fun times eventually."

False Empathy - "Sure, okay. I guess you could say Clay's done our group wrong from time to time, but never on purpose. And he was one of the most honorable of us back in the early days. Despite almost killing him, I've liked the guy then and still do now."

Arkigheuv - "Pony-tailed reincarnation of our former leader. Seems okay by me, but... well I'll be honest, I haven't seen him in forever, and he reminds me of one of our greatest former enemies, but I guess he deserves a chance."

Child at Arms - "Dangerous, gun shooting, probably around eight years old. Next."

Courageous Bulwark - "I'm not sure why everyone thinks Kyle is a problem, I find him entertaining. Just so long as he stays away from Carrie, I think we could be friends."

North Wind Barbarian - "Sparring partner and close friend since like forever. Roark was the first to join the Eon Initiative after I took over leadership, and although he may strike against VSTF, our ally, from time to time, I see him as one of our most damn find recruits and an even better friend."

Lexis Montell - "How could I forget? Me, Key, Dartaea and Lexis used to screw around in the bar of Pocket D in the old days. Most definitely a person I'd go to if I ever needed an ass kicked that I couldn't handle."

Donavon Roivan - "We used to be cool, but a lot of people don't seem to trust him anymore. I dunno, I think he's trying to help... but maybe he should new methods than feeding me his own blood."

Kazimer - "Far too much to say on him. But let's leave at this. I don't trust him, neither does Key, but our groups associate very much. If it wasn't for mutual benefit, we'd probably not even bother at this point."

Hunter Kid - "I really do have to admit, of all of our coalitions with other groups, the one with the Grazianos is one of my favorite. Our alliance with their organization has been very close, and she's proven me that there are actually some higher-ups of organizations within the Rogue Isles who know how to both lead and be caring for those working for them at the same time."

Rockford Pennington - "Look... Rocko's awesome, but, well, he's a troll. Okay, I have no prejudice against trolls, obviously, but clearly there'd be some unease. Rocko, however, is my favorite troll. Funniest fuckin' guy ever, and basically that one giant friend who you know could probably tear apart anything. He's definitely something."

Barah - "I... I really don't know. I think we could've been good, but circumstance says otherwise. He's currently dead, but hell, if he truly does get brought back, and we smooth things over, maybe we could have a friendship again."

Dr. Lewtvig - "Dr. Lewtvig. Hooooly shit, he's really something. God damn crazy, yet he's definetly one person you'd never want to mess with. He's saved our asses countless times way back, so he's definitely a guy to be good with. Could tell ya that much."

Cecilie - "Cecey, my cousin. When being born into a family of Arachnos fanatics, finding someone that you're related to that is completely normal is great. This girl's great, and I'll do whatever I can to make sure she grows up well."

"Ah, my little brother." smiles "He's great, absolutely one of the nicest people you could ever meet in this world. I'd do anything for him - which includes giving him a second chance at life. Good and bad times have crossed us, but everything comes out positive in the end. Belabor, you're crazy sometimes and a great friend to have. It's always nice to talk to someone about everything you can't talk about to everyone else. Thanks for being there, Belabor! Always here for you in return." - Kilayox

"How can I not get a goofy smile when talking about Bela. He's such a gentle, considerate person. And at the same time, he's strong and tough. He's one of two people I trust completely, and I'm so very, very happy to have him in my life. Bela-bear would die, and kill, for me, and I'd do the same for him. I'm his, with mind, body and soul, because I know he'd never abuse what I give him. I love him, and I always will." -Bloody Carrie

"I'll never understand Belabor. Words cannot express how corrupt, insane, and evil I was... yet, he still thought I had hope. I taunted him and attacked him, but he never gave up on me. I can't tell if this is because he is incredibly stupid and naive, or if it is because he really does have a heart of gold. At least he finally turned on me when I killed Eon. Now... he's some sort of undead guy and he's lost all his 'spunk.' Dang, sometimes I miss the good old days when we'd get drunk and cause chaos together. Then again, those were the same days I tried to murder his friends and he didn't seem to mind. He's a patient son of a gun, I'll give him that - and forgiving, too. Things are just... different now, I guess. Now look, I'm real busy so that's all I have to say." - False Empathy

"He's a good person, fights damn well...I will not tell you how many times I've been on the receiving end of his fist. But he proves a great ally, even when I was suffering mentally, he helped me out...made sure I didn't make a huge mistake. I consider him my comrade, a great ally, and my friend." - North Wind Barbarian

OOC Stuff

Belabor was created originally on the decision to not RP with him, but as it goes to show, I eventually would actually end up doing it. He's a character who's had his story torn apart and rewritten several times, usually with several retcons. I stopped doing that now, obviously, because you can only retcon so much. His original creation was to be mostly comedic. Blueside originally, he was made to be a hero who constantly overdid every act and would cause an unnecessary amount of casualties. That original idea was used noticeably as the Superadine part in his backstory, so it's not as if it was -completely- retconned.

I use to be very inconsistent with my enjoyment of Belabor, and his suicide attempt was actually considered to be a "kill off for real" moment. Although, my opinion of him now is drastically different, and he is forever seen as one of my mains, along with favorite RP character, and thanks to a couple of retcons and editing, his background is also much more accepted by me as a player. And to whoever's reading this, if we ever RP together, I hope you get as much enjoyment from him as I did making him. :D
