Bidon De A, current captain of the Sky Pirates, is a well-known mercenary operating mostly in Paragon City. She was created when I was reading a topic on the message boards regarding the villain group's Praetorian alternates, and the idea came into my head while creating backstories for them for fun.

History

Creation

The refugee citizens of the Rogue Isles in Praetorian Earth (more a secretive resistance nation), after a large amount of attempts to overthrow the Praetorians, had only succeeded in forcing the Angel of Death (Praetorian War Witch) into a ghostly form. Eventually, they sent out the call in their society for four great operatives to give their lives for the cause, as the Circle of Roses had a foolproof plan. Answering the call was a mutant Blood Widow with regenerative abilities and the idea that she didn't have anything else to live for, one of the Council soldiers who worked to kill the Angel of Death, and one of the Circle's own mystics. Dr. Aeon, eager to see the Praetorians and in particular Neuron and Anti-Matter fall, sent a state-of-the-art scout robot. The Circle of Roses then performed a ritual, fusing the four into who they hoped was the strongest warrior they could get. They got what they wanted: The cyborg woman Bidon De A, with swordplay abilities second to none, regeneration that would make a bomb a mere distraction, and an average running speed that could outdo any land vehicle. In hopes that the Pretorians wouldn't kill her before full training was complete, and to gain possible allies, they sent her to Paragon City, Primal Earth.

Early Days

There are very few records of Bidon before she joined the Sky Pirates - what is known is that she stopped your average hero's share of villainous plots, and the only notable fight she was in was against Dr. Vahzilok. The outcome of the battle is unknown.

Entering the Fold

Remir, previous captain of the Sky Pirates, found Bidon in Atlas Park one day. She seemed not to pay her much mind, until Bidon said she had to leave for a mission against the Sky Raiders. As Remir's attention was attracted to her, the work was quickly forgotten about in the midst of all of Bidon's knowledge of Praetorian Earth. The current notable members of the group, such as SincereAgape and Marshal Deacon, seemed to welcome her quite openly. Two days later, a later very significant person in Bidon's life, the Midnight Kestrel, joined the Sky Pirates.

A Complication

Several days after Bidon's entry into the Pirates, a number of the crew spent some downtime in Pocket D. Attempts at relaxing were short-lived, as Ein Dose arrived as well, revealing not only that she was Bidon's alternate from Primal Earth, but several other things, including her intention to kill her and anyone who stood in her way, and that eventually Bidon would grow to be like her. A number of these statements were shown to be untrue, and likely used for intimidation. As the Kestrel had recently gotten out of a contract with Bidon, Ein chose to target her, which proved to have quite an effect.

A Worse Complication

In an attempt to not stand out as much with the rest of the Pirates, Bidon delved into magic involving the metal she was made of to become human and robotic at any time. Unfortunately, due to lack of research, this proved to be dangerous, as after some time she and Ein began switching minds, often at inopportune moments. While Ein considered this a mere niusance, Bidon thought it hell as she was a technophobe and could barely handle her own robotic state. Ein eventually found, through contacts in the Circle of Thorns, that because of the Pirate's airship, the situation could amplify to happen to everybody and anybody on Earth. Fortunately, through quick use of a ritual, they managed to stop this happening, with an unexpected yet pleasant side-effect of turning Bidon human.

Confession

A number of weeks later, while Bidon was spending some time in Pocket D, the Terra Volta reactor exploded. The Midnight Kestrel was caught, rather disastrously, in the blast, the suit that gave her powers destroyed. Bidon, at the hospital in a flash, found out what happened and soon after set off attempting to find whatever she could of the suit. Suprisingly finding enough of the suit's gloves to still be functional, she repaired them with the armguard that was once her own arm. She gave the gloves, perfectly functional, to Kes as a symbol of her love.

Defamation

Nemesis, in an attempt to bring Bidon's power to his side, imprisoned her and send an automaton in her image out into the city. Bidon quickly escaped, and tried to destroy the automaton. After a rather difficult battle, Bidon destoryed the automaton, but left it in a Crey lab, causing them to spread rumors about her that quickly causd the revocation of her hero licence. Barely hesistating, Bidon became a full mercenary.

Between these two situations, in early January 2007, Bidon proposed to the Kestrel.

Praetorian Democracy

After beginning to fight the Praetorians, and starting by stabbing Anti-Matter which caused a nuclear explosion laying waste to one of his labs and destroying him, the Praetorians created plans to destroy her. They ranged from simple assaults by the reanimated body of Black Iron, to attempts at hypnotism from Mother Mayhem, to the more successful shots at seperating her from anyone able to help her by Black Swan and Diabolique. Black Swan, sending her to her shadow world, was only foiled by the fact that Ein, by then trying to atone for her old ways, was there and could get her out. Diabolique, sperating her soul into the original four pieces, was defeated by Ein finding out the plan beforehand and assisting heavily in reuniting them. Unfortunatley, not knowing how to fuse her normally, she resorted to the best thing she could think of - converting Bidon's body, with the four souls in it, into negative energy and forcing it into fusion with Kes.

Dawn

Bidon and Kes didn't particularly like this solution, but it was the best they had for the moment. they managed to co-ordinate themselves into being able to do almost as well as they could while working as two different people. The awkwardness thankfully didn't last long, as in the middle of protecting Peregrine Island from criminal acts by the Carnival of Shadows, Bidon somehow managed to seperate from Kes. After some time, they realised that a Kheldian was inhabiting Bidon. After some angry reactions, drinks, and attempts at coercing it into talking, the Kheldian, Dawn, explained the situation - she was very inexperienced, and needed the help. Bidon allowed her to stay in her body for the sake of teaching her.

A Stitch in Time

After either incapacitating or killing all of the Praetorians, the fight against them was moved from Primal Earth to Praetorian Earth. The Praetorians of Lord Recluse, Baron Zoria, Dr. Aeon and Vandal contacted Bidon, telling her to return to fight. Bidon denied the request, causing Zoria to turn to a rather questionable method of returnign her power to them - time travel. He manipulated the past, so that Bidon was replaced by a street-smart, self-preserving woman named Operative Goldheart. The Pirates worked quickly to rectify the problem, but unfortunately Goldheart found out about what was to happen, and so escaped. Jack Murden and Ein Dose, the very next day, entered the past to destroy the only thing differing the intended timeline and the new one - Goldheart. They did this without a hitch, but Bidon didn't return until later, almost sending Kes into suicide.

Self-destruct

Very soon after reappearing, Kes broke up with Bidon in favor of Cassie Blaze (The Living Pulsar). Because of statements made by Kes, Bidon assumed this was because of her recent failures in battle. After giving the message she was going to hell, she left. Thankfully, she was referring to the shadow world by their nickname for it, and after several days returned with new confidence and power. After some confusion, the couple was back together.

A New Hope

After a short time, Bidon's relationship with the Kestrel again fell apart. At first, Bidon reacted extremely violently, and then fell into a deep depression. Thankfully, there was somebody there for her - Holly, A.K.A. Emergency Break. They grew closer, and are now just as if not closer than she was to Kes. Exactly how long that will hold though, some question.

Personality

Bidon De A, being almost a barbarian by nature, is incredibly impatient to get in battle once she gets going. Outside of battle, she seems an easygoing and understanding person. Often seen in Pocket D in her off-time, she seems to do quite a lot just for the fun of it.

Weaknesses

Accuracy - Bidon is incredibly inaccurate with ranged weapons, bar a Nemesis rifle, bow, and her MP5.

Necrophobia - For unknown reasons, she is afraid of the undead. Zombies especially, but she shows an adversity to ghosts as well.

Overconfidence - Bidon has been known to charge into battles she has no possible way of surviving. She often fails any attempts to survive these fights miserably, but it often doesn't get to her.

Love - Bidon has been known to fiercely protect her friends and family, even to the point of charging into certain death.

Hatred - Bidon has been known to mouth off violently at those she hates, sometimes, again, to the point of having to fight. People she hate include heroes, the Vanguard, people who try to attack her friends or family, and people she just plain doesn't like.

Alcoholism Bidon is an extreme alcoholic. However, due to her regeneration, she rarely gets drunk.

Powers

Training - Bidon is an expert swordswoman. While her style may seem simple, in reality she wields it with incredible control and strength.

Regeneration - Bidon's cellular regeneration works incredibly quickly, even by super standards. Only a select few actually know how to kill her - Ein, Holly, and some other friends and Pirates.

Kheldian - Dawn grants her fierce energy manipulation powers. Unfortunately, due to her inexperience they cannot shapeshift.

Summoning/Telekinesis - Bidon can summon and send flying telekinetically a great many things from other locations or even dimensions. She only uses this in small ways, such as getting a free drink.
