Makawagosh ((Black Fox in Algonkin))
In 1585, Sir Walter Raleigh sponsored 150 colonists to the newly discovered Virginia to establish a colony there. Called "Roanoke", they settled in the northern tip of the Chesapeake Bay. They were not welcomed by the natives, due to other issues with other Englishmen prior. Later in 1587, the governor of the colony traveled back to England for supplies and help. He finally returned, three years later, in 1590, to find the colony abandoned.
History isn't sure what happened, but it's believed that the colonists were absorbed into the local tribe, the Croatans. The first white child born in the New World, Elizabeth Dare, was considered part of this group. Other children were born soon after, including one whose real name is lost to the mists of time. Blond haired and blue eyed, at 3 months his parents were killed by a neighboring tribe during a skirmish. Given the name "Dark" he grew up into a tall, strapping man. He was later named Black Fox, both as a pun on his coloring and the fact that he saw a fox during his first so-called "vision quest".
Chosen
At 25 years, he was ordered to go out on a raid with another small group of men to raid the nearby Mangoak village. One of the members of the group shoved a bound and gagged Black Fox off a cliff, leaving him for dead. The Earth Goddess Soniac felt his blood stain the rocks, and went to him. She knew that he would be important in time, so She brought him to Her abode.
She gave him some of Her life, to ask if He would be Her chosen, one who would fight for Her chosen sides. He agreed, so she bequeathed a part of her power, embodied in a Crystal Heart, that She placed in his chest.
He did not return to his original tribe, but did go to a few other Algonquin, and then Iroquois tribes. He stayed and assisted them as needed.
OOC aside: Powers
The Heart does not beat, it hums, and blood passes through it, becoming magically imbued. It is the color and texture of a normal human's blood, and it can only heal himself. The Heart can generate its own "blood" when no red blood is left; it is entirely for healing and has a plasma color. To vampires, it would give twice as much "blood" as a normal person.
He heals from the outside in. If the wound is small enough, it seals. If it is large, or chunks are missing, thick, heavy skin-like material covers the wound, and the healing process begins. It takes minutes to heal a wound - except for missing limbs, when it would take a few days. Bullets or other objects that remain inside him are absorbed and broken down by the "plasma".
He has more than human strength, not superhuman. He has the ability to assimilate any language, culture, and ability known by any human or animal(aliens/supernaturals have not been tried) by breaking open the skull and consuming raw the frontal lobe of the brain. The person or animal can be living or freshly (within 1 week) dead. He has the memory of the language for his lifetime.
He has access to the memory of the Heart, but only by performing a ritual which lasts one hour and must not be interrupted. Usually he uses this to access ancient languages, and this will last for 24 hours.
Martial arts, fighting, etc: He can use any type of gun effectively. He knows many Chinese, Thai, Cambodian, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Indonesian fighting styles. (He also knows these languages, religion, and culture very well.)
At present, he has been given the ability to control the earth, water, and air.
Casey Donovan
In 1738, Black Fox met up with a trapper in South Carolina, and the two became fast friends. Christopher Alexander Donovan was an adamant Irish Catholic, who had been sent to debtor's prison in the late 1720's. He was one of the few chosen to go to the Province of Georgia and arrived in 1732. Five years later, he had worked off his debt and was now a free man. Since Chris had been a poacher before, this line of work was not difficult.
Until then, Black Fox was familiar with the ways of white men, and had seen what they had done with the Algonquin and Iroquois tribes. Chris told him everything there was to know, and Black Fox learned much from his friend. When he died in 1753, he asked Black Fox to be baptized with a Christian name. Following his request, he was baptized Christopher Alexander Donovan, called Casey.
Revolutionary War
In late 1774, Black Fox was called in to the Six Nations' Council and ordered to tell what he knew about white men, and which side to fight on during the impending war. With his knowledge, the Iroquois nations chose to fight on the side of the British, though he himself fought on the side of the Americans, along with some Tuscarora and Oneida. Most of his fighting took place in New York and New England. After the war, he was exiled from the Iroquois tribes and attempted to live among white men. Many of those did not accept him, either.
War of 1812
Casey continued to move west, sometimes living with assorted tribes. He stayed with the Shawnee and other tribes in the Ohio River valley. Tenskwatawa, also known as "The Prophet" and Tecumseh's brother, was able to trick Casey into following Tecumseh. After the Battle of Tippecanoe, his Goddess ordered him to attempt to kill The Prophet. Not enjoying this order at all, he tried to avoid doing it. Eventually, he killed him in 1813, along with his brother. ((Deviation from history))
War of Northern Aggression (American Civil War)
Sickened by his assassination of what he considered to be a great Indian war chief and spiritual leader, Casey moved back to North Carolina. He was able to get money to purchase a plantation, and then, later, large tracts of land to grow tobacco and cotton. By 1830 he had large amounts of slaves and product. He also began fathering children in earnest, both on slaves and out of wedlock. He was engaged to be married twice, however he broke off both engagements. He refused to have his picture taken in any way, shape, or form, and still does to this day.
In 1861 he was called up to war and could have paid someone to take his place. However, he entered the South Carolina militia, later absorbed into the Army of Northern Virginia, as a Second Lieutenant, since he could read and write and had some military knowledge. In 1861 the militia was absorbed initially into the Army of the Potomac lead under General Beauregard. As in the 1812 war, Casey was mostly a scout, but sometimes performed quick raids into enemy territory. After the Army of the Potomac was renamed the Army of Northern Virginia, First Corps, and under the command of Robert E. Lee, Casey was promoted to Captain of the Cavalry, First Corps. He did not make a good leader, as he was often found out in the field.
In April of 1862, the Partisan Ranger Act was passed, and Casey was one of its first adherents. Considered now an "irregular" of the Army of Northern Virginia, he traveled freely through the Confederate lines as a messenger and "stop gap" commander. In the fall of 1863, he participated in some raids with General John S. Mosby, and requested to be transferred under his command. Promoted to Major, he officially became part of Mosby's Raiders December 18, 1863.
He continued to fight as an irregular until the end of the war - and for about a year beyond it. By the winter of 1865, he knew the war was finished, so moved west to Kansas, following the westward expansion of other pioneers.
Marriage and death
In 1869, Casey met and fell in love with a woman, Claire McLoughlin. Different than most other women he met, he decided that he would give up his fighting ways - and his immortality - to spend with her. Summoning Soniac for the last time, he gave Her back the Crystal Heart. In May of 1870, he married, purchased some land south of Hays (later Hays City), and settled in to ranching.
The Crystal Heart
Soniac returned the Crystal Heart to its physical home among the mountains of Appalachia. In 1878, the cave was bombed with dynamite and the Heart exposed. The miner who took it was named Julien Fournier, and the heart sunk into his chest immediately. However, all the memories and knowledge made him both insane and paranoid. He believed that Casey was going to come after him for the Heart.
Soniac approached the remaining living Gods in other pantheons to assist Her in finding and retrieving the Heart. Other Gods chose their champions, but they failed against Fournier, whose madness made him a near killing-machine. Fournier went to Casey's home and burned it to the ground, killing his wife and three children.
Reborn
Soniac arrived, too late, and informed Casey of what had happened. Giving Her whatever small power and ability She had, so that he now carried the Goddess Herself in his soul, She begged him to find the Heart.
Egypt
Fournier had gotten the idea in his head that he could become a God himself, and all he needed to do was kill all the other Gods that existed. He believed that newly discovered tombs in Egypt would give him passage to the underworld, and also to the Gods' abodes.
He took a circumvented route, fighting off champions as needed (and weakening), to Egypt. Casey followed, tracking him as he had while a scout, augmented by the Goddess' affinity with the Earth. They met in the temple of Ma'at, and there Casey spilled Fournier's blood first. Casey defeated Fournier and retrieved the Heart, placing in his own chest, while Soniac returned to the Earth. However Ma'at cursed Casey that for 42 years and a day he would be forced to tell only the truth.
Luther Waldemar
Keeping a low profile from that moment, Casey moved north to Norway at the request of an essence of Odin. He harkened to tales of the Scandinavians. He was ordered by the gods to kill other gods, or champions of other gods. He kept moving south, trying to avoid battles and fights between the Nordic gods, finally abandoning them in 1922.
The SA and the SS
Taking the name of Luther Waldemar from a Danish tombstone, he started working in Germany as a bricklayer. Eventually, due to the Depression, he lost work, but chose to stay in Germany, moving there permanently in 1925, after being talked into it by Anton Drexler a member of the National Socialist German Worker's Party - also known as the Nazi party.
Luther joined with the SA as a way to earn his keep. Although he had not fought in World War I, Luther's knowledge of guerrilla military tactics earned him the nickname of Jagermeister, the Master Hunter. In 1926, he was hand-picked to be a member of the Leibstandarte, Adolf Hitler.
Eventually rising to be part of Hitler's personal guard, Jagermeister's immortality became common knowledge in Hitler's inner circle. His nickname became a title, and he was considered Hitler's personal assassin as well as a guard. Strangely enough, being an assassin for Hitler did not give him the bad taste in his mouth as he had being an assassin for gods. He did his work well, if not joyfully.
Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler, Zauberer
In 1934, Luther participated extensively in the Night of the Long Knives, purging and emasculating the SA that he had initially been a part of. Gaining the rank of SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer (Captain) against Heinrich Himmler's protests, he was ordered to try and recruit or resolve men in a penal unit. Luther found out that a few of these men had super-human abilities, and formed them into a crack set of troops for Hitler's personal command.
Outside of both the SS and the law, and answerable only to the Fuhrer and Luther, the Zauberer (Magicians) rode initially with the 1st SS Division Leibstandarte into Poland. Eventually they would switch between the first ('Leibstandarte'), second ('Das Reich') and fifth divisions ('Wiking'). Their nemesis was the third division 'Totenkopf', led by Theodore Eicke who attempted to kill Luther many times, under Himmler's direct orders.
Reichsfuhrerschlact
After the successful invasion of Poland, Der Jagermeister group was put on display as being pure Aryans. Some of the men who had dark hair had to bleach them blond. Himmler, angry and chomping at the bit that he did not control these men, attempted to use rudimentary magic in his special fortress. He summoned a god who gave him all of Luther's men's weaknesses, and also possessed one of Himmler's men.
Unfortunately, Luther's men could still bleed and be injured, so he lost half of his men on the Eastern Front during that first invasion of Russia. Luther didn't realize that someone was gunning for him - or them - until after the remaining men were dispatched to assist Rommel in taking Tunisia. By the end of that campaign, only Luther remained.
He chose not to pick any more super-men, as he did not want targets on their back. Himmler attempted to find some also. The Fuhrer then bestowed on him the title of Reichsfurherschlact - Battlefield Overlord. On the battlefield, his word overrode any general's.
This caused consternation with the Army and SS - especially since he still wore the black SS uniform. Luther requested, and was granted, to be Rommel's personal adjutant and assistant. Where Rommel went, so did Luther, until 1943.
In the summer of '43, Himmler allegedly found some superhuman people and assigned them to Kesselring in Italy. The squad of eight men and one woman was led by a Juggernaut - so he called himself - a stone-skinned man. Himmler attempted to make them a necessary part of the battle; most of the Army and SS called them the Freak Show. In the fall of '43, the Allies began their attempt to invade Italy. Der Ubermenschen were there in the forefront.
They were all dead in a month's fighting. Luther was unaccounted for during that time, though Rommel covered for him.
As the war began to turn toward the Allies, Luther was instrumental in developing many guerrilla tactics that the Nazis used for their advantage. He captured many Allied prisoners of war, and thwarted a few advances. He became commander of the 12th Panzer Division 'Hitlerjugend' from February 1945 until the end of the war. He was captured just outside of Enns, making sure his men surrendered to the Americans and not to the Soviets.
Neuremburg
Compared to the Soviets, the Americans treated their POW's like royalty. Luther was placed with the other SS and Army officers, who he had often overruled. Because of this, he was accused of many different atrocities, of which he did not deny. He was tried along with other SS officers, took the stand and did not defend himself. He told what he did, and what others did, and took all of the SS's atrocities on his own shoulders, saying he had ordered them. He, among others, were sentenced to death by hanging.
On July 8, 1946, after testifying in many trials for other members of the Army and SS, he was executed. His body was transferred to Munich but disappeared enroute.
Casey Blackfox
Godkiller
After escaping cremation at Munich, he went east, changing his name to Casey Blackfox. His goddess no longer came at his call. He went to Istanbul (Constantinople), and was met by a creature that he termed an angel. This angel gave him orders that he was to kill the Old Gods, for they were no longer worshiped and languished between this world and the next. However, instead of hunting him down, the gods would come to him. The angel gave him a wooden dagger made of willow.
So began his trek to avoid this duty, traveling all through the East and into the Far East, while spirits and gods appeared to him, telling him their names, and begging for him to kill them, to set their essences free. Ajysyt, Kumugwe, Orcus, Nabu...many, many old gods and goddesses came in the guise of animals, humans, or other supernatural creatures. He became familiar with the supernatural world, though never truly knew it extensively.
The Far East

The Isles and Present Day
To further escape the necessity of being a Godkiller, he headed to the Caribbean and found his way to the so-called Rogue Isles. Surprised that the supernatural was now the norm, he decided to not hide his own abilities any more, either.
On these islands, and in the so-called Pocket D, there are no rules, and it is the survival of the fittest. Casey has chosen to avoid fighting when he can, and to be complete and thorough if he must. Gods still approach him even here, looking for the end of their existence. He knows that once Soniac returns to him, that his own life will end as well.
At the moment, he rides with the Iron Horsemen and is nicknamed "Blondie".
Iron Horsemen
- After being ordered by the Angel of Fire to kill gods, Casey chooses not to. The Iron Horsemen help convince him that he should fight the Angel and be free. With their help, he destroyed the Angel - to become the servant of an Aesir.
- With assistance from two members of the Iron Horsemen (Donavon joined because he didn't trust Casey with the other two members) and Kael Marduc, a friend of his "brother" Alex Erickson, he was able to rescue his goddess from the Deep Umbra, where the Angel kept Soniac prisoner.
- Eventually, the lack of respect he had for the leader of the Iron Horsemen pack, and lack of respect for members of the Horsemen, caused him to break with them. He is still, at present, going steady with one of their members, Terrible Grinn.
Proper Worship
Black Fox asked Soniac for assistance in fighting the supernaturals that exist. She granted him the ability to control the earth; while Hino, her husband, granted him the ability to control the water and the air.
With this ability now, he again returns to being a protector for his goddess, but he works alone.

--This is my Mary Sue character - in other words, he's not going to die no matter what you do to him. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. He'll get hurt, dismembered, or buried in concrete a'la Jack Harkness in Torchwood. I've RP'd him for a very long time so I'm not giving him up to some level 1 godling.
