A person who has trained to and cooks professionally, either for themselves or small to large fine eating establishments. The title "Chef" is not to be confused with the title "Cook", which generally pertains to those who cook in causal restaurants such as diners and "burger stands".

The term "Chef" is often described, and used, as a title of those who practice Culinary art.
