Cavalier was inspired by the Smallville Green Arrows costume and has evolved quite nicely. Well, here's the hero!

Character History
The Beginings
Ted Smithson. Young & cocky as hell. Ted is the son of famous industrialist the late Edwin Smithson, CEO & founder of Smithson Incorporated, a company geared towards providing hero conveinence products(Fire resistant suits, holo-belts, Speedster sneakers (Volo's) ect.). Ted & his father hated each other & were often engaged in rapier sword duels stopped by Teds older brother, mutant & future hero, the late Lance Smithson. One night, they got into such a terrible fight that Ted took of & explored the country until he was 19. Then, he heard news that his father died during a villain holiday called Vandals Day(which was in fact a fake holiday invented by the Vicount De Crey to hide a Crey Industries mind control operation) & his brother had shot himself a week later. Ted returned to Paragon, discovering he had inherited his fathers company, which was entrusted to a family friend Jebedia King, & strangely an old movie theater in Galaxy City. Ted visited the derilict movie theater & discovered some old reels depicting a 1940's to the 1980's sword weilding hero, Cavalier. Then, after tinkering with the movie projector, a secret passage opened up & revealed the lair of the Cavalier. Ted discovered his father & most of men in his family were Cavalier & he was to be the 8th. Taking a rapier from a sword rack with had the roman numerals Vlll, Ted became the Cavalier.
The Youth League
One fateful night in Pocket D, Ted came across the katana weilding Youth League member Pask and engaged her in a duel after he told her a made up story about him defeating 5 vampires by him self. After his quick defeat, Cavalier was invited to become Pask's new student and a member of the YL. Ted joined, initially reluctant, but became more comfortable in the group after becoming friends with Volo(who now works for Smithson Incorporated as a speedster sneaker model), Little Liberty(Liberoo), & several others. Under Pask's tutalige, Ted has mastered his rapier and recently discovered the truth about his father and brothers demise. Ted now continues his adventures with The Youth League while battling his own demons.
Abilities
Ted weild a rapier made of an mysterious alloy that has yet to break with great mastery, part of his tutorage being attributed to Pask while some attributed to his father who subliminally trained him. He also utilizes daggers, grappling hooks, & a customized motorcylce.
Personality
Ted on the surface is extremely cocky in battle but moderatly friendly to allies. Often times, if he likes you, he will invent nick names for all his friends(Volo is "Speedy", Little Liberty is "Liberoo" or "Libowski", Zakka is "Zakalac", & Pask's nick names are often invented on the spot). Underneath it all, Ted is a very bitter person with an insatiable hatred of his father, who was supposedly very abusive. He seemed to love his late brothe Lance Smithson and his mother, who's fate is vurrently unknown. Ted also claims to have a surrogate family in the Baccus Carnival, a traveling carnival he lived with until he returned to Paragon City.
Enemies
Most of Cavalier's enemies were his fathers enemies who wish to vent their frustration with his father upon Ted
