Background
Past
Jones grew up in a wealthy family located in the upscale parts of Paragon City. Although he had nearly everything anyone could ever want, he despised the constant pushing and high expectations of his parents. His entire family was completely made up of successful scientists and they expected him to go along the same path. Instead of doing what his parents wanted, he did the opposite: Went to a public school (or trash school as his parents put it), made friends with poorer families, and the list goes on
When Jones was told that he was no longer allowed to spend time with his best friend Virii due to her involvement with the Freakshow, he finally had enough with being bossed by his family and ran away from home at the age of 17. Every now and then the youngster attempted to stay in contact with Virii, but her growing addiction to drugs made it seem as if she had even forgotten about Jones. He then turned to finding ways to earning a living on his own, which lead him to becoming a willing test subject in many of Crey Corp.'s experiments. The effects of the experiments had a damaging effect on his intellect. Instead of throwing him out like a piece of trash he was paired up with Chaos Creep Jane and the two served as Hero hunters. Unfortunately they both became more of a liability to Crey Corp. and were fired... Which then lead the two to their next biggest stunt: Stealing from Arachnos.
After much planning, Jane sent off Jones to do the deed. Although she expected Jones to be killed in the process, she was surprised to find that her partner was still alive... And part of the ranks of Arachnos! Despite knowing his intentions (and Jones accidently killing a recruit somehow...) this was viewed as a gutsy move by some of the higher ranking soldiers and allowed him in. Well... If he could survive the training, which he did.
Present
His hard work within the ranks earned him a promotion to Crab Spider, although he had no idea until he was forcefully operated on. Despite the painful surgery, he enjoys his new and deadly appendages. As time progressed he was subject to much more harsh training and additional experimentation, which made him the hulking mountain that he is now.
During a response to a distress call from an Arachnos base, he was reunited with his best friend and protects her at all times. After growing tired of the locker room smell he had to deal with and sleep in, he decided to move in with Virii. Unfortunately for him Jane moved in as well.
Personality
Jones is everything that an Arachnos Soldier probably shouldn't be: Nice, caring, empathetic, and too trusting of others. The only thing that keeps him within the ranks is that he doesn't usually let such get in the way of his work and does everything as he is asked to do very well. However, his friend Virii always comes first. Not even Jane's overpowering mind control can overwrite his need to make sure that his best friend is always safe... Nor his desire to impress Virii.
