A Lost Father's Daughter
Dani is something of an oddity. A hybrid of two extradimensional alien species trapped on a world that is not her own, in a timeline that is not her own following an accident that muddled up her pre-existing continuity and wiped it from existence. Ironically the fault of that is her own.
Personality
Confident, bold and brash. Danielle has the misfortune of inheriting her father's temperment, her mother's racial and cultural pride and her friends' overbearing enthusiasm for any situation they may be in. As such she is confident, in her appearance, her abilities and her capabilities, proud of them and always looks on the bright side of any situation, no matter how dire it may be.
Unfortunately she is also somewhat headstrong and stubborn, prone to getting in over her head and prone to bottling things up with the belief that others should not know about her own issues. As such she becomes quite reliant on her friends, which ultimately works out for all as her enthusiasm is often a boon for them as well.
Powers & Abilities
Weapons Mastery and Cultural Training
Like her father and her mother Danielle is fully trained in the weapons, fighting techniques, military tactics and martial codes of her parents' respective peoples - the feudal Bushido-based warrior culture of the Mantii and the savage guerilla warfare tactics of the Flea. As such she is more than capable with bladed weapons, bows and unarmed combat.
In addition she seems to have inherited a degree of her father's 'knack' for weapons, showing capability with any weapon she should pick up or wield, though not to the same levels as her father. As a swordswoman or archer she is capable of olympic level performances - through both the knack and the enforced training regimen of her parents. With other weapons she shows capability equal to basic military forces.
Hybrid Traits
As a hybrid of two hyper-evolved insect species Dani has some traits that make her not quite human. From her mother she gained the Mantii's 'human' appearance, the 'royal' quills along her forearms, enhanced agility, strength and stamina. And from her father she gained his toxic metabolism, though not to the same extent as his and also a residual trace of the Wraith symbiote that possesses him.
As such Dani is capable of wielding the Souleater weapons and surviving in environments that prove hostile or hazardous to those not linked to the Wraith. Her father's genetics also account for the fact that her skin tones are much darker than normal Mantii women as well as her height.
Quantum Syncing
By far the most unusual of Dani's talents is her ability to 'sync' at a quantum level. The result of scientific experimentation with a former genius boyfriend who hadn't quite gotten over his ex Danielle gained the ability to mimic the powers, properties and abilities of other objects, living or inanimate, solid, liquid or gas. But it's not quite as peachy a deal as it seems.
In order to do so she becomes a quantum duplicate of that which she is trying to sync - identical inside and out in appearance, sound and unfortunately behaviour. Though she is learning to control this ability times of extreme stress, frustration or general distraction can result in the duplicate self replacing her own thoughts and personality, at least until she gets control again. This was demonstrated when she ended up a duplicate of her adopted sister Tami Martinov for several weeks. She even adopted a new name, wardrobe and lifestyle until her own personality was able to reassert itself.
Furthermore should she get 'stuck' in such a way she can wind up with permanent abilities from whatever she got stuck with - currently capable of Tami's teleportation and another's electrical fields. As such she has to be a lot more careful...in case she winds up stuck with headlights, roots or something worse.
Same Place, Different Time!
The world Dani was born into was much like it is today...just some years into the future. In this future the world is a stabilised place, though her aunt and father are either dead or missing and her friends from that time no longer exist in some cases. As such the modern world isn't as offputting as one would think, certainly not the way it was to her father. She is in all respects a normal girl in a normal world, albeit with metahuman abilities and a sudden influx of friends and family that didn't exist as such in her own time.
Mission Improbable?
Dani's reason for coming to the past, alongside the son and daughter of Rose Maiden and Shadowstormm was simple. They had to prevent a catastrophic event of some sort that would cause their future to cease to be. The only problem was that they didn't know what this event was, where it would happen, when it would happen or how it would happen. In addition Dani found herself suddenly aware that informing others in the past who they were was probably a very bad idea. As a result their entire mission had to be somewhat undercover - no small task for a group of teenagers.
Dani, being the least sensible of the trio decided on a more direct approach of infiltration, enrolling in the KGB Special Section 8, largely due to the fact that it was the only hero organisation she really knew anything about, Smersh being her uncle and all. Of course the fact she also wanted to be near her family due to being homesick (of sorts) wasn't a factor either, honest. Suffice to say that her ability to keep her identity secret wasn't that spectacular, leading to those within finding out. The fact that her preferred weapon of choice was one of her father's hunting blades didn't help either.
