Dara is Praetorian Winterblood.
History
Dara was the childhood name for Rhiannon Gladstone. She was exiled from her home among the Winter Court (Unseelie) for messing in the affairs of mortals, and was banished to live among them. Rhiannon saw this as a punishment only for a little while, as she met a human that touched her heart in a special way. She fell in love, was married, and had a daughter. However the Summer Court (Seelie) got wind of this, and put out a hit on the human to try to teach Gladstone a lesson. After her husband's death, Rhiannon grew cold, dark, grim, and determined. She was determined to get the human race to a point where she could ally with them against the Fae Courts. However, the human race was generally unreceptive.
Many years passed... hundreds of years. The Devouring Earth rose up and humans were falling back and fighting back. While she was no love of polluters, she didn't want her allies wiped out, and assisted the fight against the Devouring Earth. She used her power to help the humans, and gained respect for her abilities. Anyone that tried to double cross her, well... it usually didn't end well for them. By modern times she was well established in the Powers Division among the Praetorians.
However she learned about the human Emperor's attempts to invade other realms, and realized that he would try the same with her people if she revealed them. It became clear to Rhiannon Gladstone that she needed to use whatever powers and prestige she had garnered to assist in the overthrow of the human's tyrannical leader. So, subtly, she began working for the Resistance. She wouldn't even tell her own daughter, Yolanda - now using the pseudonym of Frostspell, afraid of getting her in the cross fire and intrigue of the resistance. If she was ever to get her wish, she would need to help the humans install a new emperor that was more willing to work towards alliances and not pure conquest.
