Summary
The mysteriously shrouded Darkfyre once worked for the elusive Heroes Division of the P.P.D. Though far from the only mutant on the force, Darkfyre's abilityto drain life, manipulate darkness, and control fire were a formidable combination. Unfortunately, not everyone was as thrilled with Darkfyre's rapid climb up the hero ladder. A very well-known hero was developing a growing jealousy as he felt his spotlight was being stolen by this newcomer. He set up a trap, and framed Darkfyre as the culprit. The P.P.D. sided with the veteran hero without even investigating, and Darkfyre was stripped of security priveladges as well as status as a hero. Not to be stopped, the former hero took up the mantle of the vigilante, defending the people of the city. But when the P.P.D. and Heroes Division turned and attacked their former ally, rage ensued. Darkfyre took up the name Deathfyre, and though still continuing to help the people of Paragon City, is bent on destruction of the P.P.D.
