Character concept
Deus was inspired by Colossus from X-Men,Batman and my insane science teacher.
Affiliations
The Heroic Fringe - Although he only recently joined this group, Alex feels at home with the other members.
Steele Corporation - The arm manufacturer Deus used to run, he has regained contact with them after coming back to paragon, but has so far not asked to take command again.
Korrawi - The love of Alex's life, and the person who saved him from the brik of self destruction. Before he met Max, Alex was unhappy, and easily provoked. After a while, Alex finally proclaimed his love for her, and things have been going uphill since.
Personality
A serious and wise figure, when in the company of people he knows Alex can be a completely different person. Goofy, carefree, and quite immature at times, Alex hides his true nature well.
Powers
After the destruction of a nuclear reactor near his birthplace, Alex's DNA structure was bound with steel, making him resistant to physical damage. He also has the power to generate molten metal to shield himself from attacks.
Recently, he has also gained the power to trun himself into liquid metal to hide, and to absorb anything metal to heal himself, making him a dangerous opponent.
Abilities
Trained from a young age in the art of combat, over the years Alex has develpoed a ruthless and deadly fighting style, that combined with various martial arts and pressure points, can take down any opponent.
Weaknesses and Limitations
Although only his close friends know of it, Alex has a strong weakness to any form of radiation or psionic attacks. When angered, Alex will oftenn cahrge into combat without thinking, which gets him into a fair few bad situations.

After getting sick of fighting in his civilian gear, Alex pestered Serge at Icon until he developed a special suit for Alex. Woven with metal, Alex can absorb the suit so it can move with him wherever he goes.
The Glasses
Yes, they deserve a capital letter. Alex is rarely seen without his sunglasses. Seeming to be made out of one piece of a strange alloy, they manage to survive any beating that they take. His trademark piece of clothing, he even wears them on his costume.
Dirge
Alex's katana which he carries at all times, Dirge is made of a strange silver metal which never seems to blunt. Although there are many theories about where he got it, the most common idea is that it is stolen Rikti technology. In reality, it's made out of.. well, him. He's formed it out of parts of him. Gross, but.. somehow cool.
Character History
Born the son of Johnathon Steele, billionaire CEO of Steele Corporation, Alex always lived a privileged life. Living in the middle of the Nevada desert with his family near a Steele Corporation nuclear testing facility, he never had too many friends who were his age. Instead, he befriended the scientists and soldiers that lived int the small town, learning skills from them that no child should know.
Once he turned 8, his father deemed it necessary that Alex learned to use a katana, the only reason he gave being "Someday, you might want to help people. And when that happens, you'll need to know how to fight". His father started to teach Alex all he knew about using a katana, from blocking enemies' blows to disabling your enemy with a single slash.
Fascinated by his father's knowledge, Alex eagerly accepted the training. However, his life was broken from it's happy peace when Arachnos bombed the nuclear reactor, killing all in the town but Alex. Due to a strange chemical bonding, his DNA was fused with steel, allowing him to turn his skin into metal.
Luckily, Alex was found by a Longbow Chaser, and taken to Paragon City, where he lived out his teenage years. But recently, Alex's life took a complicated turn. He inherited Steele Corporation. Now he struggles to keep a career as a hero and the CEO of a large weapons manufacturer.
Extended Holiday
Recently, Alex has been feeling bored of the city, and made a decision. To leave.
Leaving his affairs in the hands of his company, Alex boarded a plane, and set off for Latin America. He has since lost contact with many of his friends from Paragon, and has not been sighted for weeks.
He has recently returned, however, with new scars and a new arm, and a new outlook on life. Live every day like there's a charging bull behind you.
An Offer He Couldn't Refuse
After being back in Paragon for a few days, Alex was approached by the dean of Steel Canyon University. After some small talk, the dean eventually asked Alex to teach Pan dimensional Physics at the university, an offer which Alex accepted.
After he was employed at the university, he met a woman in Pocket D. That woman was MAx. After talking to her, Alex took a shine to her, and eventually asked her out. The rest is history.
